My favorite thing to do at Disney World: Standing by the entrance to Le Cellier watching all the people who don't have reservations get turned away. That never gets old. -

I love the idea of an RFID wristband version of the Key to the World. Fumbling around my zippered pockets for park tickets, Fast Passes, credit cards, etc isn't fun. Imagine going all around WDW with just a camera and state ID in your pocket. Awesome. -

Does anyone remember John Lilly, the mad scientist who took a ton of ketamine so that he could "talk" to the dolphins? -

Even if they were the same make/model, the Disneyland accident was due to improperly tightened bolts on a wheel assembly. At least that's what the accident report says (see page 8). -

^The 2003 Disneyland accident was caused by poor maintenance, not "something wrong" with the ride. This accident at Disneyland Paris just happened. So, I guess we'll find out the cause after an investigation is completed. But lousy maintenance would not be a horrible guess considering how poorly DLP is maintained in general. -

^Due to the high crowds, long operating days, and being open year-round, Disney coasters take more abuse than just about any other coasters. Disneyland Paris is not known for keeping their rides in great shape. Examples: Space Mountain and Indiana Jones. Heck, I remember even the Peter Pan ride being in bad shape in Paris. It had a horrible clacking sound throughout the entire ride. -

PETA is very media savvy. That's really all you need to know about them. -
Wow, they are charging $85/day for this: And this fountain isn't off in the remote reaches of the park. This is a centerpiece display along one of the main midways. My visit to IOA/HHN last year was terrible and a major influence in me deciding to NOT come back to Orlando this fall even though we went every year for 5 years straight. If we do go next year, we probably won't be going to Universal, but would do the Food & Wine Festival and Mickey's Not-So-Scary instead.

Missed Credits: Coasters you COULD have...
ginzo replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We intentionally skipped Nighthawk at Carowinds last month. I had been on two other Vekoma flyers and didn't feel like waiting 1+ hours to ride another one. I don't like flying coasters in general. And it was getting to be early evening and we still had a 400 mile drive ahead of us. -

We went to the Emeril's on City Walk last year. I'd say that was the best food I've had in Orlando (haven't been to V&A). Despite his celebrity chef status, Emeril seems to be maintaining good standards. -

^Outlandish claim: Steve Jobs was only innovative in the field of marketing. Ever heard of "The Macintosh"?

^No sense in wasting more than a sentence or two on an obvious troll. Thank you, drive through.

Categorically untrue. Try doing some research before you post dumb stuff to the Internet.

If they could get food that tastes like the places Guy features on "Triple D", then it would be very good news for Carnival. Guy features good food on his show. But since this is just a "menu designed by" arrangement, it probably isn't that special: Pre-formed, frozen burger patties, I'd wager. On the other hand, would it make sense for Carnival to hire someone good? "Carnival Cruises: Now With Food By Ferran Adria" would be totally WTF.

^Oh well, at least the bullet trains are safe in China.
