  1. The iPhone is completely overpriced for what you get. There are much better phones that cost a lot less. I'll let Maddox explain why for you. Don't click on this link if you're offended by naughty language. http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone
  2. Fair enough, but Six Flags is under a mountain of debt and needs every peso they can get their hands on. Parking is a huge revenue source for them. I imagine these sponsorships are intended to supplement to their existing revenue, not substitute for them.
  3. How about just greatly revamping Autopia? It's my favorite fixed path car ride. And I think it's crucial for the kiddies to have a ride like that where they get a cute little faux license and all.
  4. Not in a billion years will Six Flags lower their parking rates. At least not while they're still charging like $2 for season passes.
  5. Very, very true. That's why I like IB more. They have more of a balance. HW has a really nice water park, but it's always insanely crowded.
  6. I'll second this opinion. I just priced out that Days Inn versus Santa's Lodge. Santa's Lodge is about $30 more per night. But that Days Inn is 22 miles away. I'd rather pay the extra money to stay right next to the park. I like to take midday breaks. I've already booked a room at Santa's Lodge for Holiwood Nights, but it looks like we might not be going. I might try and hit a bunch of the new PA credits the following weekend instead.
  7. What about beatings?
  8. You could try flying into Louisville on Southwest and out of Dayton on AirTran. Both airports are small and easy to deal with. That one way rental car is going to cost you a little bit more. You might try Priceline for that. As for hotels, stay at Santa's Lodge for HW. It's close and pretty nice. Though the buffet is gross. You're getting meals included with HWN anyway. You could also try substituting Beech Bend for Kings Island and doing all of your flying out of Louisville. Kentucky Rumbler > Kings Island. Though Beech Bend the park isn't that great.
  9. Something tells me that they don't have an actual department. These names sound like they were made up by a drunk 4-year-old.
  10. Yeah, we better throw some Ramen into our suitcases because the prices are not going to be pretty.
  11. I think you could get kicked out of ACE for saying something like that.
  12. My hat goes off to the writers for having the cojones to strike. So many unions today, *cough* Communications Workers of America *cough*, have lily-livered memberships that will suck down any POS contract so long as they don't have to strike.
  13. Oh sweet baby jesus NOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm both honored and horrified, yet laughing at the absurdity. Well, after some heavy stuff this week, I needed a good laugh, so thank you. You are very, very welcome sir. Thanks for the avatar. I think it'll be popular with the ladies.
  14. ^I wonder if they even sell that many Platinum Passes outside of Ohio. Kings Island is selling theirs for $150, which is a lot more than they were last season. I suppose the parking balances that out a bit, but I didn't renew my pass. KI is too craptacular. I'll probably get one if they install the rumored B&M hyper though.
  15. ^What the hell was that?
  16. Now that's an attraction I could get behind. UFC: Soccer Moms Edition.
  17. ^Hahahahaha. You never should have posted that picture. Thanks for the new avatar!
  18. I don't think I'd waste precious WDW time on this attraction, not even to say that I'd experienced it. That being said, this is a hugely popular show. But, I wish they'd build something with more long term appeal. This is going to be a quick 'n dirty job.
  19. Maybe I'm just oblivious, but I seldom get bad service. Most restaurant service, IMO, is about the same. The few times I've received horrible service turned out to be fun and made for great stories. I remember one waiter who forgot my order twice, thus making me order 3 times before finally getting my food. And I think he still brought me the wrong stuff after all that hassle.
  20. OMG, that's where I know that guy from. Yeah, those two characters are worlds apart.
  21. As others have said, Q-bots can be a steal. If you're visiting a larger out-of-town Six Flags park with limited time, then Q-bots make a lot of sense. I did every coaster at Great Adventure on a Saturday last July, including several El Toro and Nitro rides. I only had a day and I wanted to do EVERYTHING. And it was an amazing day, the best park day I had last year. I go to parks for good rides. If I wanted to ride crappy Arrows & Vekomas, I'd save myself the trip and visit Kings Island.
  22. I'm not a lawyer, but I know many. AFAIK, this is basically a big game of chicken. They get the depositions, set a trial date, and then start negotiating. Cases are often settled right before the trial would start. I'd imagine that the only way this will go to court is if the parents want some completely unreasonable amount of money and won't budge on that.
  23. I think I read somewhere that Big Thunder Mountain (1979) uses LIMs to move the trains in the station area. Not to mention that both Outer Limits coasters opened before Superman The Escape. Ugh, Outer Limits was the king of back in those days.
  24. Settling out of court avoids the publicity of a trial and keeps the terms of the agreement private. Six Flags wouldn't necessarily pay less, but they would reduce the press coverage of the ordeal and avoid having headlines that say: Six Flags Settles For $10 Million The cokeheads on Wall Street tend to bitchslap a stock when that happens. SIX really needs to do the honorable thing and just pay up and not put this poor girl and her family through any more grief with a trial.
  25. I don't think this case needs any help. This is getting settled out of court. If Six Flags has any sense at all, that is. But lawyers can't help oozing slime all over their cases. It's in their blood.
