That is epic! It's not possible to condense more of the dark side of coaster enthusiasts into so few words. Thanks for the new sig.

"The Voyage reminds me of Gwarzi." "This doesn't make ne sense. How are they going to make SOB smoother by removing the smoothest part?" <<< Asked like 75 times even though the reasoning behind removing the loop was explained in the first post. "Why is Disney removing the loop from California Screamin'? They must hate loops!"

In a word: Yes. Visit Great Adventure even if it means you can visit no other parks.

Best WDW restaurant w/ Dining plan

Kinda reminds me of HHN where they run a continuous line of people through the houses and yell at you for stopping to look around. -
^With the obvious exception of Disneyland Paris, I'm looking forward to this park the most. It looks super high quality and interesting.

Best WDW restaurant w/ Dining plan

You've got it. You really have to carefully plan out your trip to get your money's worth with the Deluxe Dining Plan, but you can have a great experience if you do it right. If you don't make your reservations several months ahead of time, you'll probably get rooked. We didn't want to eat three sit down meals per day, so we got character breakfasts in the morning followed by 2-credit dinners in the evening. It worked out quite well. My only gripes are the lack of key lime pie on ALL desert menus and the fact that they want to put watercress in EVERYTHING. I also like the paying in advance aspect of the dining plan. Having a giant credit card bill to pay when you return from your trip is no fun. -

That's exactly it. They're hoping that you'll burn a credit that you could have used at Le Cellier for a counter service meal instead. Not all restaurants are on the dining plan, like Bistro de Paris. -

People on the dining plan were getting poor service under the old system. If you're a busy server are you going to give attention to the table with a guaranteed tip or the table where your tip depends on your performance? We used the Deluxe Dining Plan in January and it was a pretty nice deal. We ate at a lot of the nicer restaurants and actually did save some money. It all depends on what kind of vacation you want to have. Personally, I think sit down meals at the nicer places provide a nice respite from the constant running around one tends to do at WDW. And I've noticed that most counter service food at WDW is not good. Wolfing down crappy burgers at Cosmic Ray's in between cycles on Space Mountain is not my idea of a nice vacation. -

Le Cellier is very difficult to get reservations at for this reason. The cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread are fantastic! If you get reservations right at when they open for lunch, they make all the employees sing the Canadian national anthem. -

Read some reviews: http://allearsnet.com/reviewpost/showcat.php?cat=32 My favorites are Jiko and Yachtman's Steakhouse, but those both require 2 meal credits. -

Or maybe she's just digging for a way to sue Disney. That's what this looks like to me. -

Busch is also excellent about refunding unused tickets. I was going to go to Sea World last December, but when we showed up to the park we found out that Kraken was down for maintenance. They were nice enough to have a sign at the parking booth. We opted to not go inside the park and sent away for a refund when we got home from our trip. -

The thing to do for single day ticket holders who got rained out with no rain check would be to call their credit card company and issue a charge back. I'd imagine that just about any bank would approve your charge back if you told them that you went to an amusement park who didn't run any rides when you were there and refused to make it right. -

If they spent money to improve rides how could they afford all those trash cans? -

If the guests actually put up with this BS, it's actually a great business decision for CP. It rains a lot up there. So, they'd save a lot of money in wear and tear and power by not running the rides in the rain. Also, people are more apt to spend money in the restaurants and gift shops if there is nothing else to do. -

This attitude is probably the reason why CF assumes that they can get away with their absurd new rain policy. What happened with Magnum is a problem, but the answer isn't to shut the whole place down every time a solitary drop of rain hits the midway. The answer is simple: FIX THE BRAKES. But that would cost money. And why should they spend any money when they know their fanboys will put up with the standing around for half the day with nothing to do. If only someone could transport Maverick and Cedar Downs to another park, I'd never have to visit CP again. -
Dueling Dragons, Mummy, Hulk, Spiderman, Ripsaw Falls, and Men in Black aren't major thrill rides? You're right in that the Florida parks don't cram 13 undermaintained coasters into an ugly slab of concrete. But most parks only have a handful of good coasters anyway. The rest is usually filler. So think of the Florida parks as getting rid of the fluff.

Theme Park Review's 2008 Europe Trip
ginzo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Actually, your $1,000 figure for airfare is a little bit low. It would be more like $1,300 from SFO and that's the very bottom of current fares offered. And you'd need to throw in some extra cash for incidentals (food, drink, souvenirs), bringing the total closer to $5,000. Remember that the dollar is VERY weak against the Euro right now. TPR is probably not going to do this Europe trip again next year, but I believe a really awesome Scandinavia trip is planned. Good luck in getting your finances together for next year. You should consider looking at jobs outside of the amusement industry because you'd likely make more money elsewhere. -

I'm going to go ahead and not really pay attention to such rumors just yet. I'm still holding out hope for the park. Rumor C is laughable. Who would buy timeshares of a campground? Edit: I just did a search, and apparently campground timeshares do exist. Bizarre. -
Absolutely! Because the ride experience would be vastly different from what they already have in Orlando. Another looper would not. More than 99% of Universal Orlando's customers will never go to Universal Japan, so the ride would be quite unique to the vast majority of their customers. I don't mind clones so long as they're copies of good rides. For example, every park needs an El Toro clone.

Actually, your variety argument calls for the B&M. If you count Fire and Ice as separate rides, Universal already has 3 multi-inversion coasters in the resort. They have zero airtime machines. And Florida doesn't have a hyper. Universal could beat BGA to the punch. I do think the concept for how they plan to integrate it into the park is awesome. I'm sure Universal will do an excellent job on aesthetics, as they always do. I just don't see the need for yet another looper, especially at the Universal resort. Bwahahahaha. YouTube comments make me worry about the human race.
