  1. Adding my input to this... I wouldn't mind seeing CP take a step back from pushing to have the most coasters for a while to maybe update their current collection first. Wildcat's recent accident is a good example...perhaps it's time to remove it and add a more modern wild mouse style of coaster, maybe a nice Maurer Söhne Xtended SC 3000. We also all know what their wooden coaster situation is like, and how they drastically need an update in that area. Not to mention Soak City and how out of date it is. Only to name a few.
  2. I highly doubt that. Additions are planned years in advance (usually 3+), you can't just tell a company like GCI to "play it by ear," and to "have it ready" because CP *might* build a new coaster "sometime within the next couple years."
  3. WTF is Philly doing? Jagr's a Flyer, and at $3.3m for 1 year no less. I can't wait for that first game in against the Flyers.
  4. I really can't stand the USPS here. It seems like they deliver whatever they want, whenever they want. NOTHING ever comes in a timely manner. I ordered something on the 17th and it still hasn't gotten here. What gets me is that (according to the tracking info) it's been sitting at a distribution center since last Thursday, which is located 5-10 minutes from my house! This isn't the first time either. What a joke!
  5. I never go by them, they are so sporadic. They have so many good movies rated poorly, and bad movies rated highly. One notable example is Boondock Saints. Sure not everyone likes that movie, and that's fine, but the "critic" score is at 19%, whereas the audience score is at 93%. Now how does that make sense? Considering movies are made for us anyway, and not for "citics," I always ignore their "reviews" and just go straight to what the general public rated it (Cars 2 is at 69%, btw).
  6. I have problems as well with TF2. Everything runs great on the default settings, but for some reason I can't move, or sometimes I can't stop moving. I've tried turning everything down and still get the same result.
  7. This salary cap floor is really shaking things up. That's the only reason Campbell was traded, so Florida could make the floor. Here's a list of some others that we could see traded for that same reason: Jay Bouwmeester 6.6M Paul Martin 5.0M Dany Heatley 7.5 Kimmo Timonen 6.33 Anze Kopitar 6.3 Patrick Elias 6.0 Anton Volchenkov 4.25 Martin Havlat 5.0 Nick Backstrom 6.0 Brent Seabrooke 5.8 Scott Gomez 7.3 Keith Ballard 4.2
  8. I just finished my 6th week as H&S Intern (Health and Safety) at All Clad Metalcrafters (they make pots and pans). This is my final 12 credits for graduation, then it's out into the rat-race looking for a H&S job of my own!
  9. I understand Carter, but the captain also? I know they needed to make cap space, but still. Richards is one of the most underrated players and captains in the league. They got some great young talent, but now they have to start from square one again with extremely young players, and hope to develop them correctly until they're at the level of Carter and Richards. By then Pronger and Timonen will probably both be gone, leaving Bryzgalov with not much help in front of him, and the Flyers with little cap space to bring more help in (that's if they want to re-sign Schenn, Simmonds, Voracek, and whomever they draft 8th overall). Watch out for Columbus. That one-two punch of Carter and Nash is going to be deadly.
  10. The Turnpike will come back soon (maybe even next year). It was long overdue for a refurbishment.
  11. Shame to see PittFall go, it's one of the best drop rides out there, in my opinion. The ravine side is/was awesome. I hope another drop tower does make it's way back into Kennywood eventually.
  12. Get it from Amazon then. Either way there are also 5 bonus cars in the first production of discs: Ford Mustang GT Coupe 1965, Koenigsegg Agera 2011, Lexus SC300 1997, RUF RGT-8 2011, and Tesla Roadster Sport 2011.
  13. ^ Actually, you do get a bonus car with a Forza 4 preorder, depending on where you preorder it from. Amazon gets a Subaru Impreza WRX STI, Best Buy gets a BMW 1 Series M Coupe, GameStop gets an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, Wal-Mart gets a MINI John Cooper Works Clubman, and Target gets a Honda CR-Z EX. I'm going to order mine from Amazon (mainly because I have an Impreza in real life, lol), but all of them seem pretty cool.
  14. ^ I'm guessing he was referring to the lighting. They probably couldn't have been that elaborate with chains.
  15. CP confirmed on their Facebook that Windseeker is now open.
  16. My first "new" car that I got a few days ago. A 2011 Subaru Impreza 2.5i 5-door. It's no WRX, but it's still a great car, and really fun! I'm having a blast with the 'sport mode' it has (although my wallet isn't).
  17. Cool PTR! Can't wait to see more! As far as I know, MaXair is also the tallest and fastest Huss Giant Frisbee in the world as well...at least it was when it opened. Definitely a VERY underrated ride!
  18. ^ Keep in mind that no one thought Dragster or Millennium would fit where they now are either...
  19. If the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show can be built and taken down in a matter of minutes, I'm sure this is even quicker. They probably have it down to a science.
  20. That's not surprising, the trains come to such an abrupt stop in the station. Glad everyone's alright, though. It's time for a modern Wild Mouse coaster...maybe a nice Maurer Söhne Xtended SC 3000.
  21. They are very similar, as most B&M Hypers are to one another. I do like Nitro slightly better, but they are both great rides!
  22. ^ I know exactly what you mean. For some odd reason the lap bars on S&S swings cause people to act that way. It's even worse when an already-locked lap bar is released, then people really start to freak out. I mean, it's not like someone got on the loudspeaker and said, "Your lap bars have been released on purpose, ride host please re-check all lap bars." He wasn't that far off. Sure he exaggerated a little, but don't we all? The Ultimate lasts about 7 minutes and goes 50 MPH, not bad for 13 years old. I can see where they're coming from, I used to do that when I was 'scared' of coasters. It gives the rider a false sense of security. I have friends and relatives who wouldn't dare sit in an end seat on a drop ride (i.e. Power Tower at CP or Pitt Fall at Kennywood), but will sit in the middle no problem.
  23. The MTS Centre holds about 15,000 people, not 21,000. The 8,000 are people on the waiting list, not actual additional ticket holders.
  24. Considering everything was a walk-on last year when I went on a weekday in August, you should have no problem when you go. Unless there's some sort of event.
