Why doesn't anyone use their turn signals anymore? The other day especially, I saw a Corvette on the highway weaving in and out, yet he didn't use them once. I seriously wanted to pull up next to him at a red light and say something smarta$$-y along the lines of, "It's a shame you paid so much for that car, and it doesn't even come with turn signals! You better go get a refund!"

I highly doubt they're going to wait all the way until the end of the 2012 season to decide what to build in 2013 based on DA's generated revenue. They most likely already knew what they were going to add in 2013 a few years ago...whether DA is/was successful or unsuccessful.

Cedar Fair has to pay for Leviathan somehow. Not to mention that it's an industry-wide trend. I went to Universal/IOA back in 09 and paid $99.99 for a 7-day pass...I'm going again in less than a month and am paying $144.99 for a 3-day pass. That's life.

Honestly, I think it's because everyone is used to Cedar Point building the biggest and baddest rides out there. It's understandable why people are getting kind of antsy (not that I am), because in the 9-year span from TTD to 2012, Cedar Point has only built one coaster which stands a mere 105 feet tall. I don't blame Cedar Point, though, considering they built 3 coasters (2 massive, 1 large) in a 4-year span at the beginning of the decade.

That sucks...I'll be there in less than a month too. I'm glad I did get to ride it back in 09 when it dueled, but I wish this hadn't happened. Leave it up to some idiot who probably threw stuff to ruin it for everyone.

Lightning Racer (Lightning) at Hersheypark last night (8/13/11) at about 10:00 pm.

Changed to a mesh 09 WRX grille (sans the "WRX" badge) and added some Rally Armor mudflaps.

Desperate for filler games until the fall lineup hits, I went out and bought NFS Hot Pursuit. Definitely a really fun game and better than I expected! I also preordered Forza 4 and BF3 today. I didn't realize that Amazon offered release-day shipping for only $0.99, awesome deal!

I don't think that would really be an issue. Cedar Point has plenty of other roller coasters and rides to eat up crowds. It's not like that would cause a 5 hour line because there's nothing else to do or ride in the park.

Yeah around there, maybe 11-1 and 4-6. Walk by Johnny Rockets, Chik-Fil-A, or some other larger eating place and see if it's crowded. If it is then head to some of the bigger rides. I know it will be tough resisting, being as you can see them from practically anywhere, but Millennium and Dragster sometime have a tendency to clear up a bit as the day goes on too, but before it gets close to closing and people are trying to get their last rides in.

Definitely try and plan on eating lunch/dinner at off times and riding some major rides during peak eating times. It's surprising how much the major rides empty out during those times, as schotcher said.

I like the Drury. Free pop, popcorn, drinks, snacks, and a great free breakfast!

Here's my take on some of his points: Practically every college dorm in the country is the same way as CP's living quarters...sometimes even worse. The size is about the same if not smaller, the amount of people, the roommate pairing system, the room change system, what furniture comes in it already, security, the requiring of an ID swipe to get in, the overpricing (CP dorms are cheap compared to college dorms), communal kitchens/showers/bathrooms, etc. The list goes on and on, they are practically identical. There's a reason the fire hazard rule is in place. First of all, I lived 4 years without my own personal toaster/microwave/etc., so it can be done, secondly it's really not uncommon to have the occasional dumbass microwave Easy-Mac without water, popcorn too long, etc.. That kind of stuff happens quite frequently in those type of environments, believe it or not. I guess what I'm trying to say regarding the dorms is who cares? People are there to work and use the dorms to sleep, not live it up in some lavish luxury penthouse. All in all, I think he makes good points in his other sections, but I couldn't help but laugh at the living quarters part. Edit: He has made a few replies, but more recently some more detailed ones on this page, if anyone's interested. I have to laugh at some of those too, honestly. Notably: "Even at housing and out of uniform some odd rules still apply. For instance, you are not permitted to smoke at any location where a guest might happen to see you from the road. This is because "The guests know where Employee housing is." Employees are on Cedar Point's property and have to abide by Cedar Point's rules, simple as that. You are told to arrive in Sandusky with enough food/money to survive for three weeks." Welcome to life. If I were to get a job and apartment in Texas, my employer wouldn't pay for my food, I would. If someone isn't financially ready to live on their own, then maybe they should find a job closer to home. "The air ventilation at the nearby waterpark is notoriously inadequate to handle busy holiday rushes. Although this doesn't effect the guests too much, the workers breathing in the pool chemicals and their byproducts day after day often suffer health issues as a result. Chemical pneumonia is common, and there are many stories of the entire crew coughing up blood for weeks at time. There have even been cases of permanent damage done to lungs of employees, but Cedar Point insists that you prove it was from breathing the air and not from some other source before they will help you with medical bills." The EPA and OSHA REQUIRE regular air quality tests, or fines/citations will be issued. If any employee thinks their health is in danger, there is an anonymous whistleblower hotline offered by OSHA and the EPA so issues like that can be made known and corrected. "During the interview process he is asked to fill out a form detailing any arrests or convictions. He asks if he should include incidents which occurred when he was a juvenile and have been expunged. He is told by the interviewer no, so he simply leaves the form blank as he has only the one incident." I don't know about anyone else, but that was honestly the FIRST THING I was taught when learning how to do job interviews, resumes, etc. It's better to have the mark on your record known (no matter what anyone tells you), than for management to find out weeks/months/years later and call you a liar. "Despite however cold it gets in the building, personal space heaters are a "fire hazard" and that is not allowed." I have never lived in an apartment or dorm where they were allowed. They are indeed a tremendous fire hazard...not sure what else to say there.

I'm not. All of my friends and family know I like parks. Most of them even go out of their way to ask me if I want to tag along with them when they do go because they know how much I like them.

^ & ^^ It depends on what time of year you go. I've gone in early May in the past and checked in well before 4pm.

I'll be at Hershey next weekend on the 13th while visiting with some friends from college. It will probably be insanely crowded, but as long as I get to ride Fahrenheit and have a fun time with my friends, I don't care. After that I am currently in the beginning stages of planning a trip to KD and BGE on the weekend of Sept. 10-11. Then finally there is a possibility I might go to Universal Orlando from Sept 13-17. That looks like it for me in 2011.

I was always surprised New York City never had anything big. I know Great Adventure isn't all that far away, but still.

I like Mantis. It has especially been running better since it's rollback last year.

Using that logic, one could make the argument against building any new coaster in general. After all, every new coaster is, in essence, just a different variation of it's predecessors.
