  1. That's news to me. Being as CP is so stubborn about their coaster count, and that they will be tied with SFMM again next year, I highly doubt it.
  2. Perfect timing, right as I started watching! This is awesome!
  3. ^^ The X-car restraints might work if used on the outside seats only, which is what I was implying. Vekoma and Mondial use an OTSR without shoulder straps, essentially classifying it as a lap bar. Even something similar to what is used on S&S Screaming Swings might work, as they have a system that doesn't block the seat next to them while the restraint is open. The point being, you originally said that no lap bar style of restraint is even possible because a lack of a front anchor point, when there are many designs out there without front anchor points that theoretically could work. Either way, whether they should be used or not based on the forces this ride exerts is a different story. I'm assuming the fact that it's an Intamin with I305-style track, shoulder straps are most likely a must.
  4. Not necessarily. Something similar to the restraints on the Winseekers, Maurer Söhne X-cars, or the Vekoma Junior Coasters might have theoretically been possible. None require an anchor point in front. Windseeker Maurer Söhne
  5. ^ That's the point! The fun of discussing topics on a forum is speculating about things we do not know. ^^ That's how I took it as well. SOB was presumed dead, and now it has broken out of it's coffin and will return. Maybe I'm reading into it too much.
  6. An interesting post on Screamscape:
  7. Here are some of the killstreak rewards in Modern Warfare 3 for anyone interested. I keep saying I'm not going to buy this game, but these do have me a bit intrigued, especially Juggernaut Armor and helicopter-guarded care packages.
  8. I can only imagine. Last week during what one would think is an off-time in September, the Wizarding World was still packed, and FJ had a 45-60 min line most of the day. The entire rest of the park was mostly empty and walk-ons. I really like that the on-site hotel guests get in an hour early...definitely a must if one is going peak season!
  9. Even after 5 years since I have ridden it, X is still my favorite steel. I have ridden rides such as Maverick and I305 in that span since, but no ride experience has come close to being so crazy, out of control, and different from the norm as X has. I hope to get back to SFMM and try out X2 soon (plus all the other new additions since my visit in 2006). My favorite wooden is El Toro, with Ravine Flyer II second and Voyage in third. Voyage is a great, out of control ride that would have been second, or possibly even number one, if it had been slightly smoother. Even so, Voyage was the first, and still the only coaster that I had to 'fight' while riding it (for lack of a better way of putting it), and came off feeling completely and utterly exhausted. I hope to also try out some of the other top-rated steel and wooden coasters soon, such as Bizarro, Boulderdash, Phoenix, etc.
  10. Not as many as I hoped, but it was still a good summer. I have gotten a new credit every year since 1999, so as long as that streak stays alive, I'm okay with any park count. Kennywood Cedar Point (twice) Hershey Park Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure
  11. ^ Thank god for being able to save mid-race in Forza 4.
  12. Yeah I liked the campaign also. Beast mode is really fun too.
  13. Cool report! It's neat seeing everything come to life after seeing it all set up last week.
  14. Butterbeer at WWOHP! But seriously, Rolling Rock.
  15. Diet Dr. Pepper.
  16. Battlefield 3 all the way. MW3 is just going to be the same cheap and stupid stuff as in MW2. The fact that they knowingly added quick-scoping is extremely dumb. How is that at all realistic?
  17. Yeah, just to reiterate, that's exactly what happened when I was there last week.
  18. Figures, that couldn't have been the case one week earlier!
  19. It's funny you should say that. When I went to Silverwood, they thought Aftershock was the biggest, best, and coolest thing ever. When I had discussions with some people regarding Cedar Point, they were just astounded and looked at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears. Not to mention when I told them that TTD wasn't the tallest and fastest in the world.
  20. ^ Definitely a fun and underrated game! Try number 2 if you ever get the chance, that's fun also!
  21. ^ Power Tower Millennium Force Top Thrill Dragster Space Spiral Windseeker
  22. I don't believe so. Unless I'm missing something, Windseeker will put Kings Dominion at 4, whereas Cedar Point has 5.
  23. While these awards don't necessarily hold much water, the 2011 ceremony was today at Holiday World. I'll update the first page as soon as the list is released.
  24. I finally got to check out the HP section this past week. FJ definitely exceeded my expectations. I went in thinking it was going to be mostly all screens and movie clips with the occasional fireball and/or something that jumps out at you, but I definitely liked the fact that there were more physical scenes than I had originally anticipated, and how close to you they actually got. That far right seat especially gets everything full-blast! I definitely hope to return sometime soon!
