  1. Nothing makes Cedar Fair happier than shade canopies. They're about ready to start putting shade canopies over their shade canopies at this point.
  2. My day is always brighter when I have the peace of mind that comes along with having a Plymouth Rock Assurance policy.
  3. Sorry to burst your bubble but once that train leaves the station there's no getting it back. And speaking of that train... here it is now
  4. Last year Mantis did 925,667 riders with 2 slow loading trains. With 3 trains this year and faster loading trains I wouldn't be suprised to see that number jump quite a bit. Raptor did 1,414,447 and Raptor doesn't run in any rain and closes frequently for wind (I mention Raptor as they also have to drop a floor and each train holds the same number of people as Rougarou's trains). As of last year Mantis never closed for rain though it may now... you never know. I wouldn't be shocked to see this ride jump half a million riders. ... what that means as far as wait times, who knows.
  5. Rides usually open during Early Entry whenever they're ready... the rides they say will be open at 9 are always open barring a mechanical issue, a drizzle or a light breeze but things like Dragster might open before 10:00 if they're ready. Your time is much better with things like Maverick, Millennium Force, Raptor, Rougarou or Gatekeeper though. Unless you want a front seat ride, Dragster's line will be very short with Fastlane plus. The front seat is the best seat of course but you've ridden Kingda Ka so I don't know how much of a priority this actually is for you.
  6. Conneaut Lake ... wait, they're what? They're still... no you're joking right? Oh, well nevermind then.
  7. Hey... don't hate. When we ride the Teacups it instantly becomes the most forceful and terrifying thrill ride in the park. We usually get off that ride looking like we're stumbling out of a bar at 4am.
  8. Whenever I see a picture of the re-painted Scream this is all I can think about... what's the point if they're not even going to cover up the parking lot under the ride? Personally I'd rather they didn't paint it and spend far less money on mulch, rocks, dirt... anything than they did on the new paint. That to me would be a bigger improvement. Any update on Goliath by the way?
  9. I never have and never will understand the whining about Wild Eagle's restraints. They couldn't possibly be any more comfortable. If they installed cup holders and TV screens I could easily sit in a Wild Eagle train for 3 hours and watch a football game and probably be more comfortable than I'd be in my recliner at home.
  10. Holy crap, I never knew that. That was a good read, I remember riding the ride back in 2001 the day after we went to Busch Gardens and thinking that the ride was a bit on the disgusting side (but like I said, we rode Pompeii the day before). I never really understood the cave at the end either. That ride always seemed a little odd. One thing that was kind of fun was standing exactly in the middle of the bridge though because you didn't get wet at all, but if you stood off to either side you were in for a soaking.
  11. I'm sure it'll be better than Mantis. Getting run over by a truck would be better than Mantis. I like the Carowinds Vortex though... I'd leave that one alone, and this is coming from someone that hates every other standup coaster.
  12. According to my very accurate calculations, Dorney will build about 32 more coasters before 2040. Can we all take a minute to fully appreciate this post?
  13. I agree, the ride looks amazing. But even if it is the company's worst coaster (which it probably isn't), it will probably still be the best coaster in California and it will still be awesome.
  14. I still can't believe this enthusiast pipe dream actually came to fruition, I'm way more excited about this ride than I should be just because I'm so amazed that they actually did it.
  15. Great pictures! I guess maybe I just suck at Flyers but I thought the ones at Carowinds were terrible this year with the huge bumpers. I've managed to get way more snaps on the Kings Dominion version. Then again those and obviously the ones at Knoebels are the only ones I've had any luck with.
  16. It's still there, I was just talking about it in the past tense as I rode it last year. Sorry for the confusion guys.
  17. I kind of liked Europe in the Air. It was nothing amazing but it was a fun ride.
  18. It's Prowler and they didn't bother making a whole new graphic for Dorney. Personally I don't blame them. It's close enough...
  19. You should be totally fine. I'm 6,3, 200 and fit just fine though I'm very close to being too tall to ride it.
  20. I should say by the way that despite the fact that I'm not a big fan of the way this park is run, the ride looks amazing. I love that first inversion and I can't wait to see how fast this thing runs when it has a full train and gets up to speed. It does look like a really amazing ride and I can't wait to ride it.
  21. Okay so purely speculation but it looks like we MIGHT have our answer. Six Flags New England is yelling at people on the sidewalk across the street from the park because Friendly's paid to sponsor the testing video (lol really?) and they didn't want another testing video getting out. Again... purely speculation but this does seen to combine 2 of this park's favorite things... insane power trips where they get to tell people what they're not allowed to do and whoring out absolutely everything to sponsors. Let the SFNE fanboy hate parade begin (though even the fanboys seem annoyed with the park over this lol). The ride does look great though.
  22. Here's a picture from a random Facebook page of it testing... Based on what I'm reading the picture is from ridiculously far away because Six Flags security is parked on the side of the road yelling at anyone who stops or walks on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street from the park. This park is exhausting... lol
  23. Every small park, beachfront park with no room (which is most of them) needs this ride. You can charge top dollar for it and it looks like it'll fit basically anywhere.
  24. Great pictures, thanks for sharing. I really like Intimidator but Fury really has a way of making it look bad. I remember riding it on opening day and thinking "oh, we're at the top already?". lol
