  1. THIS, I know it's tempting to ride Fury first but unless you have Fastlane Plus you need to ride Nighthawk first.
  2. It's plausible but I hope it's not true. You would think they'd do anything in their power to get it open by Memorial Day weekend but then again it's very likely out of their hands at this point.
  3. Wow, I was way off... I gave the fog 2 weeks before we never saw it again, not 2 hours. lol
  4. This ride really brightens up the midway and I'm sure it'll be fun to ride. Too bad the mist probably won't work anymore in 2 or 3 days but even without it the sign and ride placement still look great.
  5. Image from a great media day trip report at Great Adventure History. And I'm not picking on woolandmammoth, I'm picking on Great Adventure. PS: That fog won't work in 2 weeks.
  6. B&M 1) Fury 325 2) Kumba 3) Raptor 4) Tatsu Intamin 1) Millennium Force 2) El Toro 3) Maverick 4) I305 I have not yet ridden an RMC coaster.
  7. Dominator in the very last row rips down the drop and creates awesome hang time in the loop that put it way above any other floorless for me. It's no Kumba, but for a floorless it's a pretty great ride. Also, Flight of Fear is criminally underrated. I just thought I'd throw that out there.
  8. As far as I know Wicked Twister is the only ride that's not ready to operate, everything else should be open barring any weather or mechanical issues. Speaking of which, is there any news on Wicked Twister, does anyone have any idea how long it might be down for (approximately obviously... days, weeks...)?
  9. I also prefer Fury to I305 but I love both rides and they're both in my top ten out of almost 250. I305 is more intense but Fury is just the complete package and a perfect blend of speed airtime, minimal restraints and intensity.
  10. dippindotsguy8 is right... you should ride the Sky Ride. Not riding the Sky Ride is bad, and that makes you a bad, bad person and you should feel bad. Also, ride the train from the station near Mean Streak so you can ride though Boneville.
  11. Today is guaranteed to be a complete sh*t show at the park thanks to the wind forecast. It's better if we just accept this now instead of being surprised by it later on when the trip reports bashing the park start showing up around the internet.
  12. I noticed this on the webcam the other day (ugh... I'm a nerd), when an empty train stops in the mid course it crawls back to the station at a ridiculously slow speed. I'm sure Mantis always did this too but it's pretty amazing how slow it is. It really seems like it's going to valley when they block check it.
  13. Any news on Wicked Twister, sounds like the train was in pieces and a section of track was removed last night? Does it look like any work is being done in the area?
  14. Nope. It should be pretty slow since schools aren't out yet.
  15. Probably next to the old Goliath train in whatever storage building Six Flags New England uses to house all of their coaster trains that don't suck.
  16. We end up riding Power Tower a ton whenever we go to the park because it never has a line... it's worth riding the drop side for the view alone. Also since Coaster Curt brought up Blue Streak... Blue Streak is fun in a non wheel seat but in a wheel seat if you catch it on the wrong day it can be really rough... stick to the non wheel seats and you'll be a big fan.
  17. I can't wait to ride this... this was a great offseason for Cedar Point between the new Maverick restraints and the Mantis conversion. It's nice to see a park going out of the way to improve two of their existing rides (though I never had a problem with the old Maverick restraints). People get on the park sometimes for calling this a new coaster but as far as I'm concerned it is, we never ride Mantis... now they have a coaster in it's place that we'll probably ride a lot. Great job Cedar Point!
  18. Nobody should ever buy Fastlane or worry about lines at Dorney... 99% of the time every ride in the dry park will be a walk on except the Log Flume, Wild Mouse and Cedar Creek Flyers, none of which you'll wait more than 15 minutes for. This applies to Saturdays during the summer, haunt... basically all the time unless there's some fluke thing where a ridiculous amount of school groups show up and even then you won't wait more than 15 minutes for the major rides.
  19. I'd say it's worth the gamble, my guess it that it's going to be sunny most of the day with occasional storms. Thunderstorms don't usually stick around for very long. Then again nobody has any idea what the weather is going to do.
  20. BTW, just throwing this out there... I really like Gemeni. I don't know why people are always so down on it. It's relatively smooth and the hand slapping is a blast.
  21. Wow! That looks awesome... I didn't expect anything like that. Nice job Six Flags!
  22. Sit in the front car of Mean Streak and lean forward so your back does not touch the seat. It's a ridiculous way to ride a coaster but it's incredibly smooth when you do. Since you bring up Ghostrider, I'd rather ride Mean Streak 10 times in a row than Ghostrider once. Magnum is much better than Desperado and it's a piece of history. You'd be crazy not to ride it even though it can be painful. Honestly Cedar Point no longer has any bad coasters now that Mantis is no longer a standup. Corkscrew is a piece of crap but even that's nowhere near the most painful arrow looper I've ridden... plus it looks so nice going over the midway that it's impossible for me to hate that ride even though I probably should.
