Cedar Point "Winter Point" Photos

Postby HappyEisentrout » Thu Jan 27, 2011 12:12 pm

Headed into the park today and brought my camera. There is just something about a park in the winter.

Absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing. For us Southern California folk it's always nice to see some snow we're glad we don't live in! ;)

There is just something eerie and beautiful about a closed park, either for the season or for good. I've got pictures of Chippewa Lake Park before they started tearing stuff down and it was beautiful. But nothing is better than the winter covered parks.

Love seeing parks in the snow, although I wouldn't want to be in the snow myself! Great shots!

Winterized parks just look cool. The GP needs to see pictures of parks in the offseason, that way they understand what goes into closing and reopening a park for the season. But then again, that could backfire, and they could say, "OMG! THEY LIKE TOTALLY TAKE THE RIDES APART, THERE'S NO WAY I'M GETTING ON THAT THING NEXT YEAR!!!!"

^They have no idea......but they should get one. That's why i think it's cool when parks post stuff like this on their Facebooks and websites so the GP can get an idea of just how much labor goes on behind the scenes and while the park is closed.

For all of the 5 years I lived in Florida, I didn't miss Ohio snow.

If anything, I think more people who are ENTHUSIASTS need to see pictures like this. The better some people on this forum can understand how a park "works", the less stupid posts we'll have here.

It's not like I've only ever lived in So Cal. I will honestly say I miss the east coast snow. So Cal, IMO, the weather, sure it's "perfect", but it really never changes. Obviously to each his own, but I really do like seeing the seasons change, and there being a different scenery out my window to look at. And lets be honest here, who doesn't look forward to snow days? Sure, people will bitch about it, but really, you get a day or two off from work/school. It's not really THAT bad!

You mean this 70-80 degree weather Southern California is having in the dead of Winter isn't a seasonal change enough for you?? :lmao:

Good point......very good point. Working at park for the past 5 1/2 years has given me a new respect for the amusement industry as a whole.
