coastermaniac
For some reason, Blue Streak looks very cool when snow covered as do most wooden coasters.
coasterlover420
It also works the other way too. If it is a very hot day, and you need to transfer a train on/off, the track can get stuck because of expansion. I spent an hour at the transfer panel while maintenance sprayed the transfer track with a hose to cool it enough to where we could transfer a train off to be worked on. It's crazy how much the metal changes. Oh wow, that sucks. I hope you were wearing sunscreen!
HappyEisentrout
Is it sad that I'm hoping for a big snow so that I can head back over there and snowier photos?
KDCOASTERFAN
^They have no idea......but they should get one. That's why i think it's cool when parks post stuff like this on their Facebooks and websites so the GP can get an idea of just how much labor goes on behind the scenes and while the park is closed. I second that.Still can't believe that they don't simply remove the carousel horses during the off season even after seeing it on Dorney's FB. aimster
Great pics! I really miss Cedar Point. Haven't been since 1990 and I REALLY need to fix that sometime. I miss Gemini.
PhantomNick
Thanks for the great winter photos! There's something so peaceful about seeing pics of an amusement park and coasters covered in snow during the winter. The Blue Streak ones are really nice! MagnumForce
I second that.Still can't believe that they don't simply remove the carousel horses during the off season even after seeing it on Dorney's FB. Why? As long as they are kept covered and moisture free what difference does it make? If they were taken off they would be sitting in locations no better then they are now. The park has woodworkers who carve new pieces for the horse every year. The bodies and heads are one piece but the legs, ears, tail etc are all separate pieces. Makes a lot of sense! coasterlover420
I wonder if this means they'll be resurrecting the gold train for another season
