Hhappy
The long awaited moment was there today. Raptor opened at Gardaland and guess what.. i was there I had a blast being at the park today, got to ride the new ride a bunch of times and took a lot of pictures. I do hope these images will give you a good impression of the ride, the area and the fun it is. About the ride.. (the following is based on the rides I had today and my personal opinion) To me it was a fun ride (I have not been on Furious Baco but have been on X2) Depending on where you're sitting it's an amazing view and lot's of fun or a ride that does pack a punch (not like Insane (ERT session) but sure makes you scream like a little baby. The theming is top notch. So many details to look at (pretty sure i still missed plenty), the que area gives plenty of opportunities to see trains fly by. About that "big" thing a lot of people were talking/worrying about.. Vibrations.. as soon as there are moving parts.. guess what there is vibration.. It looks worse in video then it is on the ride. Some of my rides were even very very smooth and some i could feel something. But it's not disturbing the ride at all. The restraints they put on this ride are amazing. They give you a lot of freedom. Tomorrow there's a media event so i'll probably have another update about that with some more info (i hope) and probably some more pictures. Pictures from the second day Anyway, picture time. Feel free to comment and if you are interested in specific images.. let me know and i will see what i can do for you tomorrow. Looks like i'm getting on the correct bus opening ceremonie what?? you missed the picture?? too late.. sorry happy people all around. group that won the first ride is getting ready.. those trains do look sweet going up.. last bit of test runs before the first group rides.. water effect.. might get you wet in the que.. important !!! lifthill funky element with the que area under it now that is nice !!! technical details for all the nerds on this world now this is important (i think) that looks like fun, time to ride ok, done riding.. time to see what else i can get pictures of so many turns and interactions in this area this looks like fun stupid sun.. more water effects rolling over the bridge next train headchopper watch out for that tree!! yeah.. upside down and close encounter with a tree happy riders ok, now this is more like it. Scream!! just look at those restraints love that they put the park name on the train. Did not notice that untill looking at the pictures.. probably due to the angle.. another tree shot track interaction just look at these trains hopping over the entrance sometimes it feels like you could touch them if you wanted to que shot/idea owh.. there's also fog another bit of theming and ride interaction me like almost back home.. going up side down hairtime darn you sun.. fog did i not already have this picture?? whatever, still looks pretty sweet. That area on the right?/ that's part of the queue looking up that's more like it (with a train is "always" better) ehm.. some seem to really really like it.. hairtime and another nice look at the restraints bye bye train here they come lots of happy people "fly like an eagle" just in case turn, turn turn another lifthill shot.. just because this train looks sweet zooming by reach out.. reach out.. test seat.. just in case trying to be artsy lines were not long today.. nerd shot just zooming in this is such a fun part of the ride (and good photo point) scream ok, time to check out some other areas going back up after the first drop theming from "high" up in the air you can see most of the ride what's up folks?? just kiddin, they did not change the name (yet) swisty, turns, rolls, headchopper moments, theming.. hmmm turnaround after the first drop rolling more happy riders tower encounter rolling going down.. that's one big roll another train something trees (aka fail) ok, here we go again this is such a fun/cool part how's it going?? happy riders such a nice view for young and a little older that's it folks (for this update) Edited April 2, 2011 by Hhappy
Saldek
Awesome pics! If possible can you take some pictures of the train loading area tomorrow? I'd like to see how they set that up when you board the coaster. -Thanks
jarmor
so does the trim hit it really hard?
Hilltopper39
WOW! That thing looks absolutely amazing. I never realized the level of detail in the theming, beautiful attraction. I wonder if the restraints are any more forgiving for larger riders? B&M's are in my opinion amongst the worst restraints for larger riders, but these look like they may be a little better. Great Pictures Hanno, cant wait to see more and hear some more reviews.
DJeXeL
Thank you for the report and as Saldek said some images of the loading/unloading area would be great. Looks like B&M and Gardaland outdid themselves. Can't wait until we get one of these in the states. Edited April 1, 2011 by DJeXeL
B-RadG
Wow... that just makes me all hot and bothered. That looks great alone and with the theming is just orgiastic. I'm speechless and mildly jealous of all of the Italians. (cue all the "OMFG CP/SFMM/MYHOMEPARK SHOULD GET 1 0F THESE L0LLL"s)
ernierocker
Thanks for the report, Hanno! I love those trains!
jjune4991
Screw what everyone said about how this doesn't have world class coasters like Mirabilandia. I'm going to ride this! And take out a loan so I can go to Mirabilandia as well!
QueerRudie
-wow- just doesn't cut it- Gardaland went completely over the top with theming on this ride, making it so far beyond what anybody could have guessed a few years back. Soo... HOW DID IT FEEL????
Gerstlauer1
Awesome job Hanno! I know that we are many appriciating it! And is there good airtime on the hill after the first inversion? wich kind of airtime?
phantomfan93
WOW! Amazing photos! The trains are gorgeous and those restraints look comfortable! The theming is also top notch! How were the wait times all day?
stormrider
My God, that ride looks like pure sexiness, especially with those wide trains maneuvering through the course
Hhappy
Thank you for the report and as Saldek said some images of the loading/unloading area would be great. Fingers crossed i should be able to get those tomorrow. They don't allow any camera's or phone's on the ride.. and i did not see a way to get to the loading area from the exit.. hope i find a way tomorrow. so does the trim hit it really hard? which trim?? How were the wait times all day? The park was not that busy today so it was a 1 train wait. And no.. they are pretty good with loading and unloading and i did not see them stack the trains.. firstbase11897
Wow! This ride looks absolutely amazing! If only I had the money for an overseas trip...
coasterking2981
That train is just too cool. I applaud Gardaland for not only creating just one awesome looking ride, but a well themed one that takes advantage of the terrain and makes a lot of cool 'close calls'. griffonj2022
I wish Busch Gardens Williamsburg was putting in one of these in the old BBW site instead of the lauching coaster. It would be pure heaven But they aren't... Anyways, these shots are amazing! And as someone mentioned up above, seeing some station and loading/unloading shots would be neat, especially the front car close up. Thanks for such cool pictures

Lol, it is that i have a picture of it that shows it's installed but i did not notice it during the rides at all. Guess that's good?
RoCo
BADASS!!! 100 freaking percent badass. Awesome, sweet, gorgeous, awesome photos of one of the best looking coasters I've seen in a long time. Thanks so much!
DJeXeL
Fingers crossed i should be able to get those tomorrow. Whatever you can do is appreciated. They don't allow any camera's or phone's on the ride.. and i did not see a way to get to the loading area from the exit.. hope i find a way tomorrow. So that answers my question about their loose article policy.
SenseOFone
I was iffy about this, but it looks pretty freaking amazing! The trains are gorgeous, and the theming is top notch, especially for a B&M! Man, I gotta get to Europe someday
DJeXeL
^I had my doubts as well I'll admit. Although some of B&Ms designs may not be the most forceful coasters out there, they are built with quality and well thought out. Thus why parks have no issue doing business with them. Goes back to the old saying "You get what you pay for." Edited April 1, 2011 by DJeXeL

Six Flags Enthuseast
Man, this ride looks amazing! The theming is great and the ride looks pretty fun to ride! The teen center at the Navy base is going on a trip there in May, so hopefully I'll be able to join in. I can't wait to ride this thing!
