TPR's Middle America trip has begun! Over the next week and change we'll be visiting some of the best parks in the "Middle America States" including Nick Universe, Adventureland, Worlds of Fun, Silver Dollar City, Six Flags St. Louis, Holiday World, Indiana Beach, Six Flags Great America, Wisconsin Dells, and Valleyfair!

Today was "Day Zero", meaning our arrival day. Most of the group came in today and we took some time to do Mall of America and a few "un-official" rides at Nick Universe. Enjoy the update....

Haha, so awesome that you guys stopped at IKEA! I've been following live on Facebook, and I must say that the updates from your iPhone are looking really good! Keep up the good work!

That game store looks like it has a lot of cool stuff, I haven't seen a store selling NES games in a long time.

Are Boomerang's even worth $3.99?

No! Clearly you get 8 of them for only $3.99!

Which came first, the Swedish word for "coat hanger" being bumerang, or Ron Toomer using said coat hangers to make the boomerang element?

IKEA Seattle is just like LAX: Every other location of its type is better in every way!

 

Awesome report! I went through MSP last year, but didn't have a chance to check out the whole airport or Mall of America.

Those meatballs are the best. I work at Ikea in the restaurant and I cant get enough them.

I had a lot of fun, trying to keep up with the facebook updates, yesterday. Almost like being there.

 

Ok, not really, but that's what I'm telling myself.

Awesome, another set of trips updates. I love looking at these things.

I almost bought both the nes/snes/genesis system and the nes usb controllers while I was out there just a few weeks ago, but I got stingy and decided the money was better saved for my next trip.

Everything looks amazing... I think everyone has to admit that IKEA meatballs are truly amazing.. MOA looks so different before nick took it over. Great TR as usual. Any day now Kidtums will be the biggest credit whore ever

I always enjoy seeing TR's from places I really want to go to. I've always wanted to go to the Mall of America and I'm glad you guys are having a great time. IKEA is another place I'd like to go to, just to experience it...

 

(Also, there is a possibility of a chance of a slight hope that I might be able go on a TPR trip in 2012, depending on where the trips are!)

Looks like a good start to a great trip! Of all the things I miss about living in MN, it would have to be: 1)State Fair 2)MOA 3)That IKEA.

Can someone tell me what day will be the Worlds of Fun day?

Did you guys ride Spongebob? If so, did the lift hesitate a couple of times making it seem like it was gonna stop? We rode it beginning of July and it hesistated which freaked the wife out since its going straight up.

 

Also, there is no way LAX is worse than Eppley here in Omaha. There are a couple of food courts, but other than that there is nothing. There's only 2 concourses for Omaha for a total of maybe 30 gates.
