I know you say you don't care to know, but it's really not that interesting: You throw flour on people, so they look old. Pisses people off but doesn't really do anything as an act of revenge. Silly boys!

^ LMAO!! It'd be pretty tough to throw flour on him from 6000+ miles away, but if somebody threw flour on him I'm sure he'd look no different, no.

You girls.

I had a very ghey definition of 'antiqueing' in my head, till it was explained here. Ohhhhhhhhh, that's what you meant by.......

Things you learn at TPR. My, my.

Posted

^I'm assuming your definition involved sandpaper and some sort of varnish, Bill? (The girls' form of "antiqueing" was new to me, too.)

Oh, these kids today . . .

Explanation does not deliver.

Why does flour make people look old....do you brits have a different meaning for the word FLOUR???

Flour in your hair would make it look old and gray--an old stage trick. Flour sprinkled on a tanned, leathery face would make it look like a chicken-fried steak, I guess.

^ LMAO!

Actually, that's a good point, although this probably isn't the thread to discuss it. It really doesn't make your face look older. The newly-white hair and eyebrows and the fact that it makes you so pale does give an antiqued impression though.

It is NOT a British thing!!

Hello I have been looking at this site for years but only decided to post now. Ain't been to a theme park in years and need to go to one soon hopefully when I passed my driving test. Coney Island is a ghetto park but the jewel in the crown has to be Barry Island Pleasure Park in Barry, Wales. It is grim beyond belief probably because it is owned and sponsored by Hyper Value (a discount £1 shop). The food is appaling you would've laughed at the King Bite restaurant! Just don't go there at night! It has one compact pinfari coaster but not sure if this operates now as haven't been there for years.

OK, why am I always picked on in these UK updates?

Am I the Rodney Dangerfield of TPR?

Don't feel bad, Barry, I feel like a dirty whore after reading some of the captions under pictures of me on the updates

Wait a minute! You mean to say that the things that Robb & Elissa print below the pictures arn't exactly real.

Well, there goes my pristine image of you and Lou. I suppose the next thing that will come to light is that all those things that Derek humps are photoshopped in.

Posted
^Nope, those are quite real. As are all the things he sticks in his mouth.

Care to elaborate nicole????

Nicole! Keep my GAP persona apart from my TPR credibility! People here don't need to know that stuff, unless they were on the trip and Robb got pictures of it!

Great Yarmouth & Joyland Photos have been posted!!!!

http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk2006/greatyarmouth/greatyarmouth1.htm

Part 2 & 3 of our "credit whore day" on the east coast of England was located at "Great Yarmouth" which is a seaside resort similar to something

like Wild Wood in New Jersey where the two parks are about a 15 minute walk or tram ride apart from each other.

Random highlights:

- What was that curry potato thing I ate anyway!?!?!

- Joyland was REALLY small, but for whatever reason was really FUN with it's collection of BIZARRE rides!

- That coaster ride at the Pleasure Beach was kind of a "meh" Scenic Railway

- There was a lot of flesh in the dark rides!

- The Tubtwist and Snails are NOT coasters!!!!!

Anyway, here's some pics:

What was the name of this coaster again?

OMG! It *IS* Lou!!!!

"What fat people look like when they get kicked in the nuts."

How much do I need to win an Aussie A$$hole?

"CASEY!!! TACKLE RYAN!!!!"

"Children"

Does this REALLY count as a coaster???

"If my camera can't break it, it's NOT a credit!!!"

Our last meal together before the "non-add on" people split from the group...More Balder for the rest of us!

You can see the entire update here:

As allways, the trip report was awesome! Are there realy no existing Virginia Reels still working? Somebody needs to tell Knobels. They seem to be in the marked for re-inventing non existing rides lately.

So Dan's wearing make up? Elissa looks stoned?

Yup, weird beach parks. I still can't believe how small Joyland really was! I've got to agree, Snails is definitely NOT a credit. Tyrolean Tubtwist isn't either, but that makes me sad that there really isn't a Virginia Reel left in the world. Maybe the fine folks at Knoebels' can fix that!

Wow, Yarmouth sure brought out the pouty lips of Dan, didn't it!? Maybe the place was laced with sugar in the air instead of salt and it was his body's natural reaction to the foreign substance. I'd hate to imagine what he'd look like had he seen Lou (or any other girl) naked while on the trip!
