martinb Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 If you haven't been to the UK before or there are certain parks that you haven't been to before and certain rides you haven't yet been on before, what are you looking forward to the most? What park are you looking forward to visiting? And what ride are most looking forward to riding? Infact everyone, even if you have been on all the rides in England before, what are most looking forward to?? If added a few pics of some decent rides to wet your appetite! *When looking for a good photo on Stealth's tumbnails on RCDB I clicked on the one that I have chosen and stared at it for a while before noticing that I'm in that picture at the front, it freaked me out for about 5 seconds, it was really weird seeing me in a picture that I didn't know of! That ever happend to anyone else? Anyway forget that, I want to know what your looking forward to? Thanks to ww.rcdb.com One of my favourite coasters. One of the best Wild Mouse's in the world IMO Vekoma goodness The worlds most violent coaster, I'm surprised the trains make it round in one piece, after the 2nd lift hill it sounds like the trains are falling apart along with your body I'm glad someone got such a good photo with me in it!! Speed, which apparantly has mental airtime Awsome Zero-G Roll on Shockwave! Rita: Queen of Speed, apparantly Pepsi Max Big One Awsome Oblivion Inferno is good, not very intense but very good! Nemesis has one of the most intense helix's of death ever! IMO Yay, one of the best coasters in the country with EXTREME airtime
ebl Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I like what they did with the suspended coaster. The open seats look like they greatly improve the experience. Eric
viking86 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I like what they did with the suspended coaster. The open seats look like they greatly improve the experience. Eric I read that they are doing the same with the Vekoma Swinging Turns coaster in Bobbejaanland (I think it was in the latest First Drop magazine). Btw, that picture of the Pepsi Max Big One is just awesome! The drop just looks so wrong for some reason...
martinb Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 The drop just looks so wrong for some reason.. The train looks completely messed up, it don't look like its on the track properly
MrMorgan Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Yes, and check out the space between the track and the wheels on that picture of Speed. Their MUST be great airtime on that ride!!!
DerekRx Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I've been there before and I'm most excited about going in a smaller group than last time but still fairly large, heading back to a bunch of parks I love, getting to ride some new stuff, and best of all, not having to worry about a thing once I'm there since we're going to have guidebooks and everything beforehand! Plus ERTs with only 2 trainfuls of people, that's terrific!
MARK Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Has it been discussed that The Storm in one of the original RCT's parks is a replica of The Ultimate?
niiicolaaah Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I've never been overseas, so I'm very excited about that. The park I am most looking forward to is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The coasters in the UK i am most looking forward to: 1. Nemesis 2. those two wooden mouse thingies 3. Nemesis inferno 4. X:\WTF 5. Stealth 6. Air (I know it's not super exciting, but I've never been on a B&M flyer and am interested to see how the trains get into the prone position) 7. Spinball whizzah 8. Booster bike thingy 9. Kumali 10. Speed
Nrthwnd Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I think that for myself, knowing about all the parks and coasters I've never been on before... It's all down to three things: 1) The tour itself - I mean, having done quite a few U.S. conference tours, with a minimum of (usually) 4 busses used.... This will be one of The Best Things about this tour. One - bus - only. No waiting. 2)Blackpool. I've known about it for years and years. No matter how it looks and is running nowadays, it's one of the great parks, known world-wide. 3) Oblivion. The world's first dive coaster. I will truly cry BUCKETS if it's closed down the day we're there, lol. Followed it from concept to mystery rumors at the time of building (i.e. What IS it that's being built there?) to it's eventual opening.
Carnage Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Nemesis is what I'm looking forward to the most. Though really after that it's a toss up. I'm looking forward to just about everything.
downunder Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I've put my hand up for one of the spots that might be coming up (fingers crossed), so if I do get to go: Alton Towers looks like it has a lot of coasters I really want to ride especially Nemesis and Oblivion. Speed looks insane, also keen on Balder on the add on tour.
martinb Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 ^ Now then, your the second person who's said they're looking forward to X:/NWO, just please tell me your joking! About the space between the wheels and track on Speed, isn't that what makes Vekoma so rough, having space between the wheels and track?
rollermonkey Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Hmm. I'm the big ? at this time. I went to England back in 2002, but I only made it to three parks: Thorpe, Blackpool and Alton. I'm most looking forward to seeing how Nemesis Inferno turned out, seeing more without any of the stress of the last trip, and getting ERT for the first time!
clarkerm Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 You guys are joking about X:\ right? Or are you looking forward to seeing how truly awful it is?!?!
martinb Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 2. those two wooden mouse thingies Yes, the Wild Mouse is brilliant IMO, I absolutely love it, but the other one at Southport is horrible, its really really rough and painful and not very intense unlike the Wild Mouse which is mega intense with extreme airtime, especially on the last drop where the track just seems to dissapear underneath you
