  1. 1. What type of coaster videos do you prefer

    • Raw un-dited POV or ride footage (crowd screams and all)
      16
    • Quick coaster and ride shots with lots of Peeps in it and some rides (50/50)
      10
    • Just coaster and ride footage (POVs) edited to music (no screams or ride sounds)
      14
    • Total focus on people having fun at the parks with no straight ride footage w/background music

Curious to see because of the mixed signals I get about these videos on here

so this should settle this (kinda )

Side question-- Robb has been hinting at me to do an affiliate DVD with my POVs and such, Would this interest you guys or are my Videos on the Video board good enough, I do not want to spend the time making a DVD if nobody really feels a need for it with all of them available on that forum.

post here or PM me if you would like a DVD available....it will not be nearly as fancy as Robb's or Don's mostly just straight footage (w/music) on DVD.

All opinions welcome

How about a 2-disc set? One disc of your POV's, one of your music videos?

Yea...I did a test Disc and made a DVD of my music videos and it didnt look too bad but it wasnt really high quality (but I have better quality ones on my computer that are over 30 megs)....as I have no way to edit video except for Windows movie maker. the POV footage I can rip straight from the Camcorder to DVD so the Quality would be much Better.

The format I have been doing with my videos is the fourth choice on your poll. I guess I like the music video style with the original soundtrack (raw sound) mixed in lower than the music volume level. I also like to feature other people (as well as Leanne and I) having fun at a park. On POVs I do prefer the full raw sound instead of having it edited to music...but that is just me. As Robb said, you should have 2 DVDs to work with. You have so many good quality POV videos so you should include them. One for park videos, and one for POV videos.

You can't beat a RAW POV of a great coaster, listening to the helpless people riding it as this makes the coaster better + you want to hear the wheels working round the corners / banks and hitting the brake run etc.

I don't like music to coasters, seems pointless ..

I think I will do one..thank you to those who posted input

I will make a DVD of just RAW POVs and they will be much higher quality than the ones posted on the forum.

I do not think it will sell really well, but I am sure some of you would like a high quality POV DVD (as opposed to just burning my choppy ones )and I have been meaning to make one for me for a while.

look for it within the next couple months

Raw-unedited POVs are fun to watch because someone might say something really funny! (ex: Manhattan Express vid.)

It's also quite possible to have raw POV footage with annoying background noise. Not everyone can make entertaining commentary like Robb.

I tend to cut out anything from my videos that has my voice in it if I can help it. I despise my voice on tape.

But it's all personal preference.

I voted for the POVs to music. But along with the music POVs or even the raw POVs, would there be some offride footage? But I can tell ya that I am totally interested, I cannot wait for this!

I am thinking of putting up a 3rd disc with offboard stuff problem is...I have sooo much footage it might just be a 4 disc set I will see how it goes.

Thats a tough question. But for me I can see you doing a production where you either do a music style video for about 3 minutes of the park then showcase the pov's w/ some off ride coaster footage. Atleast you already have the support of someone already...

Yeah, I like Jarve's idea. I kinda like to see what the park is like when I watch videos. Good ride footage is great, but I kinda like to see things like how the park is laid out, what are the queues like ect. You know, give some context to how the ride fits into the park.

Lately I've been doing POV's that show some off ride shots first, maybe what the station is like, ect. That way when you watch the POV you have an idea what to expect.

Of course it's all personal preference. The best thing you can do is just make it how you want to. Everyone has their own flavor and that's what makes them interesting. Robb has his la-la cartoon music, I heat up food with hair dryers, and Tommy...well...we love Tommy!

looking forward to whatever!

As much as I enjoy SOME of Robb, Elissa and companies' antics, I actually prefer the videos that show off more of the rides and the park itself. I'm a POV junkie, raw or with music though, so I come down about 75% POV and off-ride footage to 25% park atmosphere shots including gags and antics.

My problem is simply not having a bunch of peeps to go to parks with! My videos are either POV's or very, very boring!

Dumb sailors, always wanting to go drinking and whoring and fighting!

POVs with track noise & screams. Of course, that makes it immediately an 'R' rating if you follow US MPAA rules.

Some park video, perhaps with music, would be nice to give a feel for the setting. And if you have any, rather than limiting it to just coasters, an occasional flat video might be nice - thinking of the Chaos POV from Britain.

Individual discs might be nice, grouped by region.

Well, Usually when I film at a Park it is JUST Coasters, my friends (and wife) do not really like to be filmed so I usually just get coasters cause that is what I like to watch (I never had intentions on doing this when it was filmed)

This is what I was planning on doing... 3-disc set-

disc 1 ALL POVs and nothing but raw POVs

disc 2 all offboard stuff from all over the place with some music too

disc 3 all my Music Videos I have made with WMM

Probably take me a while to compile disc 2 but I have wanted to do this for me for a long time.
