RCTfan
I finally got the chance to play the Wii when I visited some of my friends at my old college. My friend was quite distressed that I hadn't played it until that moment. I'll admit that before playing it, I was quite skeptical by the gameplay idea but I hadn't heard but good things about it since its release, so I was eager to give it a try. I thought it was pretty much amazing. I started off by trying WiiSports, and I thought it was brilliant. I enjoyed bowling the most, but that is because bowling is one of my favorite sports ever as it is. Boxing was fun and quite a workout. I also gave Zelda a try as well. I'm not a huge Zelda fan but it was quite fun being able to slice and such. It was kinda difficult as well but my friend had finished the game so I was thrust into the middle of the game. Lastly, I tried Rampage and I didn't understand the controls what so ever, neither did my friend who owned the game. I didn't really enjoy it as well. It seems as if the implimentation of the Wiimote wasn't too successful but then again, we didn't really understand the controls. Overall, if I had $250 to spend, I'd definitely consider picking one up. For now though, I'll just enjoy my DS. I'll look into buying one once the price goes down in a few years maybe. Ha. OzCatter
My Wii is going to get a lot more play out of it for a while, my 360 just went boom and needs to go to the shop for a while(ring of death). I got SSX Blur, hopefully it'll be good
49ers4ever
So, who else is picking up Super Paper Mario this week? I'll be getting it as soon as I complete Paper Mario 2. I'm just now getting into the Paper Mario world with this GameCube classic, and it's awesome. Now I'm trying to hurry up & finish Paper Mario 2 so I can start playing Super Paper Mario. Can't wait!!! Freefallbestrideever
Got my LAN Adapter and classic controller, but i can't find damn Wii points! I went to 5 stores (even the good neighborhoods) and nada! WTF? My credit card is maxed so i couldn't do it online
OzCatter
BTW, final version of the Internet Channel came out today, features include: * Parental Controls * Improved zooming and scrolling * An improved zoomed font * Shortened startup times * Quicker access to "favorites" * An ability to hide the toolbar * Buttons that will instantly type common preset letters, such as "www" or ".com" * Built-in Yahoo! or Google Search Not bad, still not that great to have, no need for it. But I guess when everyone here takes all the computers, at least I have the Wii
darklingscribe
The new version of the internet channel works much faster. I can actually see myself using this now if my computer goes down. It's much easier (and faster) to use than the PS3 browser.
OzCatter
Also, Cooking Mama is easily one of the best games for the system right now, it owns in ways thought not possible
Golfie
We just got the last copy of Super Paper Mario at Game Stop today - best game for the Wii yet! I'm a little dissappointed that it doesn't use the battle system (just hop on the enemy's head), but the whole "flip between dimensions" thing doubles each level's playability. I'm on Chapter 1-3, so I can't wait to see more of what Nintendo has to offer in this one!
Angry_Gumball
I actually bought Paper Mario today, having never played a Paper Mario game...but I have played Mario & Luigi Super Star Saga and part of Mario RPG and found those quite addicting. I like the fact that it kinda goes back to the platforming era of Mario yet you can switch to 3d when you get stuck in the 2d world. Well, that now makes 11 Wii games that I have now. onewheeled999
You guys make me jealous. I still only have Zelda.
rcoasters
You guys make me jealous. I still only have Zelda. Don't worry, I still have Zelda too with a remote and a nunchuk... My birthday is next month so that means I'll probably get Super Paper Mario or Trauma Center, something like that. I never played the Paper Mario series and I am very curious to try this. TheLastGunslinger
Has anyone else found the arcade in Super Paper Mario? Go to the bar in the basement level of Flipside and go into 3D. Just keep heading towards the screen and you'll find a pipe that leads to it. I'm currently addicted to the ghost shooting mini-game. My high score is 1.1 million points and I'm still trying to best it.
onewheeled999
Yay for bringing threads back from the dead. I have a little question for 'yall: What are the Top 5 Wii games to you?
TheLastGunslinger
Yay for bringing threads back from the dead. I have a little question for 'yall: What are the Top 5 Wii games to you? Top 5? I don't think there are 5 Wii games that really warrant a $50 purchase. So far the only two games to really impress me have been Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario. I guess you could include Wii Sports but it's really just a fancy (but fun) tech demo.
SharkTums
Just got Paper Mario today and it's GREAT! I really like it! 5 Wii Games to get... Wario Ware Super Paper Mario Rayman Trauma Center (If you didn't play it on the DS) Cooking Mama (If you didn't play it on the DS)
ginzo
Just got Paper Mario today and it's GREAT! I really like it! 5 Wii Games to get... Wario Ware Super Paper Mario Rayman Trauma Center (If you didn't play it on the DS) Cooking Mama (If you didn't play it on the DS) I've been playing Super Paper Mario for the past few days. Although I really like the game, I think it's a bit too easy. I don't pay too much attention to games, but it seems like Nintendo games are much easier today than in the past. The bosses especially in Super Paper Mario are absurdly easy to beat.
Homer
*gasp* Guess what I finally got today... A WII! Question though, is downloading updates supposed to take an ungodly long time?
TheLastGunslinger
*gasp* Guess what I finally got today... A WII! Question though, is downloading updates supposed to take an ungodly long time? Yes, the online component of the system tends to work incredibly slow.
onewheeled999
I'm gonna get Super Paper Mario. Dude, you know how the ads for the Wifi USB Adapter said that 'you just plug it in, prepare it, and you're good to go'? Yeah, no. My dad took about an hour to get my computer's firewall to accept my wii as an accepted computer system, then we had to grant permission, and get everything ready. And that didn't count the 10 more minutes for the DS.
Cameron
^ The problem there is your firewall software, not the Wii. Get a real hardware firewall, and disable the Windows crap Cameron.
Crazy4Coasters!
Am in the same boat with you Homer. I just got my Wii today and it KICKS MAJOR ASS!!! By the way am trying to add Mii's to mingle with but I haven't had any luck. Anyone one wanna be my Wii Buddy?
the sound
I'm going to buy a new game for my wii soon, but I'm debating what to get: Excite Truck: I've heard some pretty bad stuff about it. Is it really that bad? GT Pro Series: This one is apparently pretty bad as well. Anyone bought it? Need For Speed Carbon: Was going to buy this, then i read about the controls. Do they suck, or do they work? Blazing Angels: Looks really good, can anyone confirm that? Heatseeker: Ditto Blazing Angels. Tony hawks Downhill Jam I think it looks good, but no-one else seems to. Does it? SSX Blur Graphics look kind of bad, but otherwise looks good. Can anyone help?
onewheeled999
^ Yeah, I agree. That Heatseeker game is gonna be AWESOME! I rented Excite Truck a while ago, it gets boring after you complete the Silver missions. I would only buy it for the multiplayer. As for Tony Hawk Downhill Jam, I played it at a friend's house, it's very good. Much like Excite Truck, but has 4-players, seems longer, and has much more depth. the sound
^ Thanks for the help. I actually just learnt that Blockbuster now has Wii Games for rental. Despite Blockbuster being crap, maybe i should have a look at what they've got, and rent out some of those games. Why can't Video Ezy have Wii games!!!
