azbob19 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Are they every going to paint ninja? I was there over on saturday and it was in pretty bad shape. But still a good ride.
MattJackson Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 ^ I think you got the wrong Ninja. He meant the one at SFMM. That's a link discussung the one at SFOG.
azbob19 Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 No the Ninja at Six Flags Magic Mountain, not SFOG.
robbalvey Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 No idea, but I agree. Ninja is probably in the worst shape of all the coasters at SFMM, at least in the "needing a re-paint" department. --Robb
DATman Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 ^Goliath is so faded, that they based the new one's colors on the ones the originals faded to. It was blue when it opened, and now it's teal. And the new one is teal.
KrazyT Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Goliath has always been teal... http://www.coaster-net.com/rg/goliathsfmm.php Check out the colors on the right...
V2-dude Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Actually it was blue:http://www.rcdb.com/ig615.htm?picture=10
MLRC7 CP Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 When Goliath opened it was more of a dark teal and not blue But Ninja definately needs a new paint job
Rachel127 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 azbob19 you're from phoenix too? How funny, cause Im from Scottsdale and I was a SFMM on saturday too, what are the odds? Btw how long did it take you to get there, I ran into major traffic on the 210 in Ca. It was like bumper to bumper all the way from Indio to Pasadena.
azbob19 Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 It took 5 and a half hours from phoenix to Redondo Beach. I hit traffic on the 60 (in california not mesa), but then only 35 minutes from Redondo to Six Flags! We were the first ones on X that day!
DATman Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 This looks pretty blue to me... Courtesy RCDB
rollermonkey Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 We better break out the 128 crayola box for this one. I think that ^ is teal (blue with a hint of green). Between monitor setups, the camera and settings used and lighting / cloud cover that day, who knows? I'm not positive, but I wouldn't know as I only had the 8 color crayola box when I was growing up.
colossus Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 umm guys it says teal http://www.sixflags.com/parks/magicmountain/Rides/goliath.html
arrowfanman Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I have always considered it teal. When RCT2 came out with the supports blue, I was like "WTF!" ...granted it has faded much.
DenDen Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 People are confused. It has always been teal. Those "blue" pictures are from crappy digital cameras and scanned photos with bad color paletes.
lapseofreason Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 This looks pretty blue to me... Hey,since when has there been fog/mist at the bottom of the first drop? Was it just when the ride opened, or what? I've never seen it.... -Amanda
ebl Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 ^ The fog comes on occasionally. And the supports have always been teal. Eric
Wes Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Here are some photos from the Goliath Media Day. I think it's safe to say they were teal.
ebl Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 ^ I was there. It was fun. It rained. But we got free turkey legs! Eric
Wes Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 ^ I dropped my turkey leg onto the wet cement. It was a sad moment. And by the time I got home (like 1:30pm) the clouds had totally cleared up and it was really nice. Stupid rain. And, hey, here's a picture of Fat Robb from that day! FOOD FOOD FOOD
iZak Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 The fog is usually on in the summer...and the supports are teal. Remember...The ride was originally supposed to be based on the "Aquaman" comics, and Aquaman's uniform was orange and teal. Aquaman
