MSLSM Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Space world will build a new rocket coaster for the 2006 season. There have been no pics yet, but I have a fealing it will be a good coaster. http://rcdb.com/id3454.htm
coasterlover420 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Well, all Rocket Coasters are good coasters!
Swimace Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I think Intamin's accelerator coasters have been coming out in increasingly better designs. Speed Monster and Superman-Escape both looks awsome, I can't wait to see if this will also have an airtime-filled layout. Or it could be like Stealth.....

Anyway, I hope to ride this on TPR's Japan trip 2007. *cough* I hope there will be one. *cough*
SharkTums Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Yeah, I suppose we can make this happen! "Come to the space, come to the space world..." <---you'll understand when the video comes out!
TheGreatOne Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 A rocket coaster at Space World? That doesn't even make sense! I mean, try to stick to your themeing, folks! -Bryan "sarcastic" Wood DISCLAIMER: This post contains heavy sarcasm that really isn't even funny. If you actually believed that someone is stupid enough the think a Rocket coaster wouldn't fit at Space World, then you yourself are a moron.
Twister II Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Well this doesn't quite mean that it will be a rocket coaster. Like Galaxy Express 999, it was to believed to be an accelerator, but turned out to be a something different. As soon as I see a statement from the park/Intamin, I'll believe it. Its just like saying, "Hey Elitch's is getting a thrill lift this season!" Hmm, who knows about that rumor though...
rollermonkey Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 &^%#&^%#&^#!!!!! I'll be in Kyushu in a few weeks, and I know there's no way this would be ready while I am there. I'm not going to Space World again this time. But I will be hitting just about every other park on the island outside of Fukuoka, but still. This $uck$. Now I've got to get down there yet AGAIN.
coasterlover420 Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 YAY, this is Rocet Coaster #10!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! we should celebrate!
rollerdude Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Yay, rocket coaster # 10! I agree with coasterlover420. I hope they do some good theming like Superman. I also hope that it has and !
DATman Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 ^the only theming of Superman we've seen in pics is the landscaping. I'm still waiting for inside pics, before I say that the theming looks amazing.
DerekRx Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 I'm anxious to see what the layout and stats will be like.
Swimace Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I really hope the park will want a really twisted custom design instead of a lame top-hat or something. Do you guys think that any more rocket coasters will come out with Flying Snake Dives? I thought that was an awsome inversion, but as long as a roacket coaster has good airtime I'll be satisfied.
Gutterflower Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 I read on a japanese message board that the Park has stated it will be taller and faster than Titan (which i believe is 197ft but not sure on the speed) and they said a cost of 250,000,000 yen which works out at about £12million (i assume thats a little over $20million) that should budget them for something on the size of superman: escape i think. RCDB has it down as Blue track and white supports too Edit: Track has arrived on site. hopefully more pictures tomorrow
ECZenith Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Holy crap... track's already there? Like the colors already.
rollermonkey Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Another resident of Japan on the board! Too cool for school! Hajime mashite!
Gutterflower Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 http://www.geocities.jp/makoto4218jp/zaturn.html Came across this page. plenty more here although the pictures are dark. Roller monkey any good info? my japanese is basic to say the least
Real Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 £12million (i assume thats a little over $20million) that should budget them for something on the size of superman: escape i think. 20 million US should get them something better than Superman. Storm Runner cost only 12.5 million and Superman Escape was 12 million US. Sounds like they are going quite decently sized.
rollermonkey Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 The geocity site is mostly about the location of the coaster within the park, and states that there's lots of track on site but outside the property. There's a reference to Xcelerator as an example of the type and he hopes/wonders if this coaster will be similar. He also talks about what attractions seem to be going away for the installation. Thrillrider15 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It says on www.rcdb.com that the name for the coaster will be, "Zaturn".
rabid disney Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 ^the only theming of Superman we've seen in pics is the landscaping. I'm still waiting for inside pics, before I say that the theming looks amazing. Not aloud to take anything on you when riding superman including wallets. so very hard to get photos of inside. As for another rocket YaY and another great excuse to hit Japan.
Gutterflower Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Space world are getting in on the whole construction bloging thing now too not very much info yet but worth keeping a look out on. http://blog.spaceworld.co.jp/ZATURN/
ECZenith Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Hopefully we get a layout soon. Glad they're blogging it.
ECZenith Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 There appears to be 3 cranes on site and construction is underway, check out the blog. Looks like they'll be updating it quite frequently.
Shockwave Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Looks like it's a pretty compact site they're building on. So hopefuilly something like Kanonen is in the works.
