rollermonkey Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Back on the topic of the S&S4D, there's a new panoramic shot at the Fuji-Q website. They've added some track to extend the outside raven turn. Here's the link: http://www.fujikyu.co.jp/fuji-q/information/whatsnew_index.html
Worm Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 The thing about this coaster i don't seem to get, is that why hasne't the park gave it a name yet? can' they thing of something or what?
okinawaboy11 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 ^ Very good point. I have been wondering what they are going to call this bad boy.
rollermonkey Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Hey, Okinawaboy, I noticed you asked me if I'm stationed at Yokosuka. I thought my profile and that little location statement over there < gave it away? Unknown S&S4D @ Fuji-Q rocks! Woo hoo! I'm pretty surprised that even though there's been no official announcement by the park yet, (The Fuji-Q staff won't talk about it on the phone or in person, it's hysterical to point at it and say "Naann desu ka?" (what is it?) and get blank stares or "Wakkanai." (I don't know) when I'm there.) they have the webcam and the update photos on the official Japanese language website.
Ed Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Maybe they're just building it for show. And infact the ride will never run..
rollermonkey Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I don't know, 30 million dollars seems like a lot for a Flashback of their own... The (6F) Magic Mountain of Japan, indeed! Maybe the announcement will come duriing Golden Week? (It's the first week of May this year.)
thomas2 Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 Wow this coaster is huge. I'm happy to hear that Japan is building this one. One question: does this one has the same lay-out as 'X'???
ECZenith Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 It's basically a larger version of SFMM's X. There are some differences, including a full-full instead of the half-half. The track twists 360 degrees horizontally and the seats flip 360 degrees vertically. It's gonna be one sick little monkey of an inversion.
Gutterflower Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Official Release Get your tounge round this one Eejanaika http://www.eejanaika.jp/ the press release can be found here http://www.fujikyu.co.jp/press/2006/0427eejanaika1.pdf
Beber Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Thanks for the link. Now we can officialy say that the main difference beetween X and that thing is th full-full. The second Raven Turn looks... strange, but not bad. I just hope the cars won't be yellow....
rollermonkey Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Pronunciation guide: ay-ja-na-ee-ka (long a (beat and a half), soft a, soft a, long e, soft a) No clue what it means yet. I'll have to ask the wife when I get home, as she'll need to see the kanji to know what it means for certain. Eejanaika! Gutterflower, you kick @$$! Thanks!
PhishyBrewer Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 In unrealated news... I'm going to apply for my passport today. YEAH!!!
haux Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Official Release Get your tounge round this one Eejanaika http://www.eejanaika.jp/ Does this website do anything but have a spinning logo? I want to click and see the layout! I can't view the PDF because my computer doesn't read Japanese characters. Can anyone post an image or something?
Beber Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Here is the layout and two pics that are on the PDF
PhishyBrewer Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 ^Very Sweet!!! I'm actaully tempted to fly out for the opening and yet still go in January.
TriboElectric Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Ok, please pardon my ignorance I did a quick search and did not find the answer I was looking for. I need some help with the 4-D Coaster Lingo. What is a Full Full(what does it do)? What exactly are the differences between the new 4-D coaster and X? Perhaps one of the 4-D experts here can post a 4-D lingo dictionary for those of us who are not as well versed in the 4-D coaster lingo. Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding!
okinawaboy11 Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Ok, got some good news. I have a japanese exchange student And she says, that the name supposedly means "Take It Easy" which might sound wierd but if you know the japanese and their coasters, they have some WIERD names. Also, on the website for the coaster. After the date flashes by, she said that this ride will break records. I'm guessing its the record for tallest 4th-dimension coaster.
rollermonkey Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Wikipedia came back with "Ain't it great" for the translation. I'd side with your Japanese friend. So much meaning changes based on which kanji are used to spell a phrase. EEJANAIKA!
robbalvey Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Here's some better versions of some of the images:
chaos Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Thanks for making those pictures easier to see. If it is taller than X, it won't be by much.
PhishyBrewer Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 ^I thought I read somewhere it was 262FT... I could be so wrong though.
PhishyBrewer Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Yup... from RCDB Roller Coaster: Eejanaika Amusement Park: Fuji-Q Highland (Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Japan) Type: Steel - 4th Dimension Status: Under Construction opening 7/19/2006 Builder: S&S Power Subcontractor: Meisho Amusement Machines Height: 262' 6" History: Cost of 35 hundred million Yen, which at the time of the press release converts to just over 31 million USD.
Nrthwnd Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 @ # @ # @ EEEEEEEEE --- jaaaahhhhh nAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII kah. pant pant..... Iiiiiiiiiiii like-it!. (EDIT: I know, I know - shoulda used RED... ....right? )
nasai Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Yes, it does translate basically into "isn't it good?" Or, "isn't it great?" Wild.
