HWFan
Still haven't heard anything back from the park. Can't wait to get a response. Has anyone gotten any response from this past weekend? I sent them an email Monday night and haven't heard squat. As it says on the website, please allow a week for a response. Especially if there's a time that they're jammed with web comments... ...however... ...once you get to that eighth day, go ahead and absolutely flood them. Flood their social media. Flood their phone lines. Flood their web comments. Flood the forums. Tell everyone you can. After today, I'm too burnt out to pretend to care anymore. I'm not going to apologize for any experience you have. I'm not going to help with any issue you experience. Absolutely hold them accountable. Be reasonable, but after they don't respond, call the media for all I care.

Vonni
I enjoyed my visit yesterday to the park. I was surprised by such an early closing time for a Saturday though (6pm). Screaming Eagle was fantastic as always. I had some amazing airtime! And, The Boss was actually ridable for me for the first time this season! I was so surprised that it did not try to kill me, or compress my spine like usual. I even got off the ride without a headache for the first time in years! I rode it four times. I guess the cooler temperatures may have been a factor but I was truly impressed.

(Let me know any time, I love a good beer and conversation) I've lurked here a good while and been consistently impressed by your above-and-beyond level of dedication and service to the park and involvement on TPR. I can understand why you're burnt out after recent events. Nobody is ever going to be happy... Staffing issues happen, rides and operations experience hiccups, guests muck up procedure and make your days difficult and enthusiasts will never be happy because the park necessarily doesn't cater to them. (Not really criticizing, I certainly include myself in that group). The most important thing to remember is that the job needs to be fulfilling for you, not everyone else. Mad Hatter
We went out to the park this past Saturday to process our AP and Dining plan for 2016 and to do a couple of rides. I love the fact that the Gold Dining plan can be used at the other parks. We plan on visiting 3 or 4 others next year. We had early entry and headed straight for Justice League. Believe it or not, it actually opened at 10:30 for a change. We were about to be loaded into the 4th car of the morning and then...poof! Broke down. It took about 30 - 40 minutes to get it worked out. Oh, and this would be the seventh ride on our version and the doors were STILL NOT WORKING. My gun also quit working in the joker scene *sigh* We didn't bother to ride it again once a line formed. Took a couple of spins on Freeze, Superman (first time it's been open while I'm there), American Thunder (love it!), Batman and Eagle. I refuse to ride The Boss, regardless of someone saying "oh, it's so smooooth this year"...NOT! They actually had most of the restaurants open this time. I noticed the 1904 Classics hot dog stand and one of the pizza places was closed. I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard someone ask "well where else can we get a hot dog because that is all my kid will eat". JB's Smokehouse pork nachos were as awesome as ever though so I'm not complaining. Oh, and I asked what the hell happened on Labor day and was told that they had 64 food workers scheduled to work that day and 42 of them called in. At least that is what I was told at JB's. HWFan
First, I'd like to clarify my comments. It was nothing against 95% of the people on here. There have been a couple... less than cordial interactions with TPR members not on the forum. I'll leave it at that. I still care about the park and want everyone to have a good time, and my previous apology for the Labor Days craziness was sincere, but I've decided to just let the park handle it's stuff exclusively. Instead, I'll just be posting more things on a factual basis rather than opining on a lot of particular discussions. I overreacted just a bit and for that, I am sorry. Also, besides the new booster group "raise money for your school/club/charity group" program that has been introduced, there is a new program that I think some of you may either be interested in or know someone who is interested in. It's called the HR Reserve program. *queue TV infomercial salesman pitch* Ever wanted to know what it was like to work at a theme park? Earn a bit of extra cash? Or just try something new and exciting for a weekend or two? Well then, my friend, Six Flags St. Louis has you covered! Now you, yes YOU, have a chance to peak behind the curtain at theme park operations, behind the scenes areas, and have the chance to possibly work side by side with Dave Roemer himself! You may be thinking...what? How could this be possible? I have nary the time to commit to a new or additional job. Well don't you worry! Six Flags St. Louis feels you, my friend. So now you're probably asking, "ok, so what's the catch?" Oh alright...you caught me Mr. savvy consumer! I guess I better explain how the program works: 1. Click on the following link. 2. Choose HR Reserve, and fill out an application. 3. You may go through a very brief training program or receive your training on the job (depending on the position and your availability). 4. You will be contacted a week or two in advanced (unless you prefer otherwise) by Human Resources, asking if you would like to take certain shifts. The shifts would primarily be your choice of morning or night shifts on Saturday and Sunday. Examples could be 10:00-4:00 or 1:00-7:00. 5. You then could choose to take as many or as few shifts as you like, even if you only work once! At this point, if you are still reading, you'd probably like to know what exactly you'd be doing for your job at Six Flags. As part of the HR Reserve team, you are fulfilling a very important role of being the saving grace of what could be multiple departments per day! You might start off selling or taking tickets at the front gate. Then, you might be selling merchandise at a store or culinary service location. There is a plethora of things you could be assigned, even transferring to multiple locations/departments per shift! The pay would be a minimum of $9 per hour with the possibility of earning more for specialty positions. The first member of the program was actually Dave Roemer's wife, followed by the wives & family members of some other park directors! So if you're interested in even working one shift, to see what it's like to work in a theme park, you can apply at any time! You'll even get your own Six Flags name tag to keep as a souvenir. Have more questions? Then you can call 636-938-5300 ext. 6314 any day of the week from 9:00 to 5:00. EDIT: I also wanted to mention that it was a pleasure to meet RKO as well as one of the "lurkers" during my temporary stint working in Colonades on Labor Day. I wish we could have spoken longer, but it was still great to meet you!
michaellynn4
^ That's a really cool concept. I did the "charity" program at SFGAdv several years ago and had a blast doing it. HWFan, any idea if similar programs are at other SF parks? I couldn't find anything through a quick internet search.
