We're not allowed to post youtube links? Right?

When did the themed uniforms disappear?

Where was the screen for the Batman Nights production located?

I've never heard anything about not posting youtube links, but there is a youtube video imbedding tool at the top when you post.

I'm not sure when the uniforms disappeared, but yes, each area had their own uniforms that were laundered at the park itself in the huge wardrobe building (to the left of the train as you exit the maintenance shed). I do know that the park spent $600,000 per year on the costumes alone, which was the main factor leading to their replacement.

Just to add to what SFZIP said, Dave Roemer actually mentioned it the other day. He said that they would use a lot of fog in the plaza, and there were mirrors placed on top of the buildings in the area. Although the lasers came from that central location, they would reflect off the mirrors making it look like they were coming from all over. The fog only helped with making the lasers very visible.

Thanks for the info, from the video I saw it looked like a pretty good show for its time.

Hopefully I post these links right and if I'm doing anything wrong, please let me know.

Here is the link to the Batman nights video:

Whoever posted these..... Thank you. I have tears in my eyes remembering those years. It WAS an awesome park in the 70's. My Dad is in the video. There are about 20 frames of Larry Wine, Mike Glenan and Larry Cochran. I know a lot of people in these videos. Thanks again- it was awesome!!!

Glad I could bring back some good memores for you, but all I did was find it on Youtube. You may want to try and contact whoever made the video and see if they might be able to copy some of the photos you were interested in and send them your way.

Just to give something to talk about, what were everyone's thoughts on Tsunami Soaker this year? Was it fun? Will it help draw in crowds? Did it help re-vitalize the area it was in? Any other thoughts?

My opinion is it was nice to get rid of the old Hannibarrels, but this was not the right ride for the location. It should have been a shared waterpark ride. It was really fun to ride, but my arm gottired 2/3 of the way throughthe cycle and you get so wetthat a re- ridelater in the day is unlikely. I never noticed the ride with more than a one cycle wait, which I would assume will only decrease in coming years, leaving it almost completely empty. We will have a ride that replaced Hannibarrels sitting empty due to ridership, not too mention late opening and early closing due to seasonal weather. I think SF corporate should have spent a little more effort in trying to find something to fit that area better. Don't forget about the fishing/ harbor theme to it, in a wild west area.

The ride never had any line when I walked by on any of my multiple visits to the park. It still was a nice addition, especially since it replaced an abandoned ride that was falling apart. It brought life to that area of the park.

For me, it was a walk on. I'm assuming it has great capacity, because a new attraction would usually draw a crowd. I personally liked the ride, but if you don't like getting wet, I wouldn't recommend it. I got absolutely soaked both times, but it was still fun.

TS has gotten mostly really great reviews. I've heard a lot of people say they like it because they can cool off without going to the water park. The water guns on the outside of the ride also help to really make that area feel more alive. It does have a large hourly capacity, leading to low wait times, but by no means is the ride not very popular. The old hannibarrels that have been turned into benches have also been very well received. In the grand scheme of things, it's a great addition in that section, even though the queue was overbuilt.

My kids love TS, wife and I hate it. You get more wet that the worst soaking on Thunder River and I think the force of the stream on the guns is too strong. If you get hit in the face and the eyes it actually hurts, especially if you have sensitive eyes.

I don't even remember seeing that ride when I visited in April.

I believe it opened in June

I thought I rode it in May, but I might have just blended visits together.

Glad to see Six Flags and Mack built a good type of Water Blaster Ride after the mistake that was Buccaneer Battle.

That explains why I didn't see it, then. To be perfectly honest, I had no idea SFStL even got a new ride this year. I remember the park very well, and I don't recall seeing any marketing for it at all.

Has anyone else heard anything more about the possibility of namtab?

Rumors are pointing to it being sent to either SFFT or SFGAd next. Anything's possible, though. It would be cool if they did it backwards during Fright Fest so you could ride it in the fog and in the dark.

As the Six Flags commercial announcer guy seems to live in my head permanently sometimes, I can attest to the large amount of marketing for the ride that went on in the St. Louis area. However, it was just part of the regular commercials that included the season pass specials at the time. There was some unique promotion done for the ride at some STL events downtown that included Sit-In-Spin contests (while dodging a water gun) to win season passes. While I only talked to the winners of the competitions as they came to pick up their free passes, they at least thought the whole things was a cool idea and a lot of fun.

hmmmmm... Is it bad that this actually motivates me to want to ride it?
