And rounded the corners, just a bit.

EDIT to add: I think the ride vehicles are fine. We're in the storyline,

so we're all rats...sort of. I think the ride's environment around us will take

our minds off the 'ugly vehicle'. And with all the lighting and sound and

film/scenery, who knows how these things will feel like, riding in them?

I've ridden in a hunny pot, so anything is possible LOL!

P.S. I love the way Disney does their doors in dark rides. Just noting from that still.

The park shared these photos of the Indiana Jones refurb. Re-opening May 29.

The big refurbishment for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is nearly concluding. Attraction due to reopen May 29

We have restored the whole show quality to brand new condition, and completely changed the ride control and the loop

We'll take you behind the scenes of this large project very soon. Stay tuned for more details!

^I think I had never noticed just how circular the loop looked! I hope they don't mess with the trims (or MCBRs) as it used to carry a lot of speed through that drop into the loop making it almost ridiculously forceful

I don't know how the Japanese one used to be before they took care of it but in this TPR POV it does go a lot slower through the loop than this one.

Update on Ratatouille with lots of great photos at....

These are three of my fave shots, from Disney & More's recent posting. This is looking toward the attraction entrance, with the restaurant to it's left; fountain is on the right, FastPass and covered overflow queue at the back.

Looking down the 'entrance' to Remy's World. The new gift shop will be on the right, there.

Looking in the plaza area. Fountain in front; Fastpass bldg.behind the fountain; Gift Shop to the right. Everything is really looking so nice! I love it when Disney spends a good amount for theming besides the main attraction. This one, and Mystic Manor before that in HKDL are proof of this. More More More, Please Disney! (o:

Tokyo DisneySea essentially rebuilt Raging Spirits to make it rideable. Is the rehab of Temple of Peril that extensive?

Posted

^ When did TDS do that? Never heard of it.

But sadly for DLP I don't expect anything from this rehab. All they did is redo the ride process, changing the loop and rebuild (all?) the scenery. That is already a lot of work I guess, but this ride would have needed a complete retracking and a changement of its trains. Otherwise, no matter what you do, it's still a pain to ride.

Plus, I would have loved some extra bonuses, like what they did for the Californian BTMR.

Posted

^TDS did this a few years ago in two phases. They fabricated entirely new track, smoothed out the rougher elements, and made Raging Spirits into a much more enjoyable ride.

and boy did it work from what I am told of the old ride experience. I remember people saying as we were queuing for RS how much it was gonna kill us and then we were all pleasantly surprised by how nicely it did run.

It would be wonderful if the Temple of Peril fix-up included

retracking, The change to Raging Spirits was a-ma-zing!

I had to run back, do the single rider line again, to check

what I experienced was true - a really awesome SMOOTH ride!

But I only remember it announced at the time, real rocks

were replacing the faux rock work, as the crumbling temples, etc.

Here's hoping it ends up like RS.

We're coming back in late 2015!

"Bistrot Chez Rémy" artwork:

With 370 seats, "Bistrot chez Remy" will be the largest table service restaurant at Disneyland Paris.

With a bigger than life decor inspired by french bistrots, it will highlight french cuisine including of course ratatouille.

80% of the products will come from France and include delicious meat, an AOP Brie de Meaux cheese and fully homemade pastries.

The menu:

And the ride/area Cast Member outfits:

I had read somewhere, that one side of the Bistro would have tables

able to have a view of the unload area of the ride? That would be cool

to see if it does happen, making those tables a "hot reservation," LOL.

Section of tables "looking over" the unload/exit area of the attraction?

I hope the food is a cut above other Paris Disney fare. The food at that park was quite disappointing when I was there in 2008.

Posted

^ Honestly, of the three overseas parks/resorts

I've visited, DisneyParis is not at the top of

my Great Food List, lol. Sadly.

Maybe the Bistro will surprise us, and everybody else.

(And for now, it's #3-DisneyParis; #2-HongKongDL; #1-TokyoDLR )

Posted

^ They might just be going with a more "family friendly" type of menu.

And as for the 3 photos just posted....ooooooooo....

And just for the info...when DLP first opened, most of their restaurants

were geared to serve really good regional French cuisine. And $$$$ of

course. But the majority of the public still wanted a "Theme Park Food

Experience" so they stayed away in droves, and then Disney "family friendly"

down-sized their menus to (mostly) typical theme park food, like pizzas and hot dogs, etc.

Although Remy's Bistro is limiting it's selections, so far, this may be a step back

to what DLP was doing before. Good food in specific places, and not all over the parks.

Just a thought here.

(But they kept the alcohol in the parks, thank you Disney Paris!)

This shot is so cool! In the pantry, with the cold pastries, up and over to the right, there. (o:

Man I sure hope this ride is as good as it looks, and if it is good I sure hope it finds it's way into the World Showcase one of these days.....

It looks better without the pot.

But will it be a better ride with pot?

Or be potted, when you ride?

This TV commercial is so lame... Unoriginal, lack a voiceover, and the family makes it looks like a scenic ride, while it's meant to be an adventure.

I rather like this awesome fan-made video!

And the making-of :
