MSLSM Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Dude, it is Satan's Village!!! Sure it's all nice and Xmas themed, but it's run down, ghetto, and has a looping pax ride of death! ^Only to 2008. The park is doing better now since people go to the park. As for the typo, well it fits the park. lol
Devious Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 /\/\ LOL robb! surely it cant be as bad as manhattan express? it doesnt look all THAT bad
MSLSM Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 ^ I have never ridden a Togo, but this coaster is probably as rough, if not rougher. If they did an on ride, all you would hear probably is beep beep beep. lol It is a fun coaster but not worth the pain.
Devious Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 /\ you are speaking to a kid who loves Raging wolf bobs, looks forward to boomerangs AND slc's, and thinks the best woodie ever is wildcat at hersheypark because it has a "Temper" that gives it a trace to it's name A pax cant be that bad, but manhattan....
Guy T. Koepp Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Satan's Village, is one park that I think we all are headed to at one time or another. I heard AC/DC played there last week. Starship opened for them. Was that a cool TPR Hidden cookie? Guy "Highway to Hell!" Koepp
Nrthwnd Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Excellent sampling. I am tight (hmmm) for the holidays coming up, but new year will bring an order, soon enough. Good mixing - and great dark ride POVs - enjoyed DLs Adventures of Pooh, w/more color to see. ~ ~ ~ ~
Jeezus Juice Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 ^ I have never ridden a Togo, but this coaster is probably as rough, if not rougher. If they did an on ride, all you would hear probably is beep beep beep. lol It is a fun coaster but not worth the pain. There is some POV footage mixed in with the clip but overall it came out REALLY crappy so don't expect a full POV from me. That park was pretty ghetto but I had a blast there. If I was a little kid though I think that place would totally give me nightmares! There is definately something sinister lurking at Satans Village. It was worth going just to try the awesomely bad Typhoon, the crazy snowball/scrambler, and the "squirt a tiny tin shed that is on fire from a trailer towed by a chevy pick-up dressed up like a fire truck" ride, of witch I do have onride footage of in the DVD! And Nrthwnd, don't worry about it, you just got back from amsterdam, you need to rest for a bit! -Don "Totally doing Am-dam next year, but only for the coaster...honest!" Garrison
ParkTrips Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 LMAO! I got my share of coaster porn today. Things I noticed: - Giggity - MA rating - The actual DVD case was acting Jewish on me and wasn't closing correctly Probably the usps - using up the 37 cent stamps -Joe "thanks for sending me your package"
Guy T. Koepp Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I got my copy today. I'm hoping to have some time over the weekend to watch it. Congrats! It truly is an achievement just getting one done. You should be very proud of yourself. I am trying. But It's so slow going. Guy "I'm kicking myself in the ass!" Koepp
Bush985 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Just got my copy. I'll probably pop it in within 15 minutes. -RD
BarryH Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I got the video on Thursday and I've watched part of it. So far, so good! The hair dryer food eating demo was very funny! Did it really heat the food and how was the meal after being heated in such a manner? The POV of the kiddie coasters was the best! I don't see R&E doing that! Monica is pretty hot, BTW, but dang it, she's taken! Now Don is another matter...
Jeezus Juice Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Dude the hair dryer thing totally worked! Good thing too because I'm one of those people that actually doesn't like cold pizza. The trick is to leave it on for like 5 minutes, just make sure the container doesn't melt! As for the kiddie POVs, I believe the DVD title says it all. I dare you to find bigger coaster dorks without crippling social problems! I think Monica is hottest in the Dorney Park segment on disc two, trucker hats and skirts...yum! -Don
Guy T. Koepp Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Hey Don & Monica, Nice work guys. Great footage. Great editing. Lotsa Fun. I loved all the cooking with Don segments. I thought the highlight of the videos was the "Boon's Farm" and human fountain. Hi-Larious! You two are way cool people. It's great knowing you. Congrats on a teriffic vid. Guy "I give it 2 enthusiast (signature move) thumbs up." Koepp
jarmor Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I think this is gonna be my christmas present to myself. I still havent had time to check out the latest from TPR...damn school and work! But I think its a great way to start my underground coaster DVD collections! Jarvis "its always cool to see other peoples' work!" Morant
ParkTrips Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 My Review Thanks Don, that was some awesome shiznit
Jeezus Juice Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Overall, the video was done really well. The editing is solid and the footage is great, a lot of on-ride, off-ride and walking around the park film is included, and you can enjoy the parks as much as Don and Monica have. Wow! Thanks for the awesome review Joe! It's good to know that those countless hours I spent slaving away in my studio paid off! Yay! People don't hate it! -Don
robbalvey Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 CoasterFanatics.com has posted a very nice review: http://www.coasterfanatics.com/sec_features/feature_tools2005.asp --Robb "Thanks again to everyone who has ordered so far!" Alvey
Guy T. Koepp Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Congrats Don! It's nice to hear good reviews from leading publications. As I said before, you deserve it. Cause' a review from me is like watching a monkey sign "good job," then throw poo at ya. Not that the poo is bad, it's just instinct to throw poo. It could mean in monkey speak that "It's some great Sh**!" Because it is "Some great Sh**!". Besides I don't speak monkey, and I got... I mean... the... Good God, I've totaly lost it! Congrats Don! Guy "God knows I'm full of poo!" Koepp
Token Yankee Guy Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Great videos, but I found one little snag in the credits on the second disc of Tools on the Loose It's Keough, not Kelugh
Jeezus Juice Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Great Craig, you managed to break the credits!! . . . . Just kidding! I'm sorry Craig! I have to spell at least one name wrong per DVD a year. This year was yours! I have your last name spelled about 4 different ways around my house, it got so bad that in the end I just had to throw a dart! I get spelling mistakes from time to time, sometimes I'm suprised I get my own name right. D-O-N "Glad you finally got discs that work!" G-A-R-R-I-S-O-N
PhishyBrewer Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Great videos, but I found one little snag in the credits on the second disc of Tools on the Loose Well... atleast you weren't "Wing Master Wally"
rabid disney Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Great DVD Don. Ive just added a review at OZCOASTER. http://ozcoaster.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=45&Itemid=2 Ian
Jeezus Juice Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Thanks for the hook up Ian! Hopefully you didn't have to go too hard core on your mailbox to get this one! Wow, my DVD has been more places than I have! I'm totally jealous now... -Don "Glad everybody likes the hairdryer part!" Garrison
