I thought "Hersheypark" was slightly overrated when I went a few months ago (crowded walkways, several "ok" coasters), but it was still a lot of fun.

"Storm Runner" is f'ing awesome, though.

I think the official name for that gesture is "gag me with a spoon." 8)

Being from Cali and brain washed by Moon Unit Zappa's song "Valley Girl", I have to agree with you. I have never heard it called the "choke", but that is what makes local vernaculars (sp) a good thing! Right???

I just think the whole place is overrated and I've never really had a great visit there.

As for Lightning Racer, I'm just not a big GCI fan...too much twisting not enough airtime.

Good points. I made another visit (4th?) this summer and the excessive crowds and heat mde it very difficult to have a good time. Had the same problem at Holiday World last year. And the claustrophobic queue houses didn't help...

Strange, my only visit to Hersheypark was one of my best visits anywhere. I think that's because I went for a special event in April, where it was pay-per-ride, with $20 wristbands, and most rides were walk-ons. The only downside was that Midway America was closed.

I personally really like Hersheypark a lot! When I lived on the east coast I had a season pass there and would go at least a half-dozen times per year.

Honestly, it's not an "amazing" park by any means, but it always seems like such a sigh of relief from the corporate giants (not like Hershey ISN'T a huge corporation, but you know what I mean.)

The coasters there are at least better than average IMO. I really like Wildcat (but ONLY in the very front seat), SooperDooperLooper is a great Schwarzkopf looper (yes, enough though it only has ONE loop), I'm one of the few that actually likes Great Bear, Comet is a decent woodie (although could be better with the trims off), Roller Soaker is GREAT fun, and Storm Runner just flat out kicks ass.

I do agree that Lightning Racer is probably overrated, but I've always "liked" it. It's not a blow you away ride, but I've always thought it was just "fun"

So overall, the park is worth going to, IMO. It's usually pretty well run and clean. I would NOT reccomend going there on a Saturday, though. It's not a good park when it's crowded since there is not any line skipping options.

Well, I've been to Hershey more times than I can count, and I've only had one bad visit, and that was on labor day weekend. The crowds sucked! Anyway, I agree with what has been said so far. Hershey is a great park, with pretty good coasters. Although, when you compare it against other parks, it probably has some of the best depth (more than a few good coasters). After a while though, it starts to loose its charm that it had when I was little, but whatever, its still one of the best parks out there in my opinion.
