LegendLover
I thought I heard something about them putting a train loop. . or doing shuttles. I wonder if that ever happened? whatever happened with the land they were clearing and working on for the Bird Expansion (that we saw when we were there in 2017). . .I know that plan didn't happen, but the land was already being cleared and worked on. . did anything go there? They have a tram/train that takes guests around the park, including to the top of Sky Screamer Mountain. Personally, I actually love walking around the park; it feels like a bunch of nature trails. Last time I checked, they did have a bunch of monorail track in storage. I don't know what the plan for that is if anything is going to happen with it. The Bird Sanctuary has been cancelled for right now, at least building it from the ground up. It is quite possible that the former Aquarium Dome could be retrofitted to feature bird exhibits. Part of it was remodeled to house the new Magellanic South American Penguins. That large plot of land was originally planned to be a massive expansion to feature multiple indoor exhibits, but it wouldn't surprise me if the funds for the project were redirected since the park is taking a new direction. BigJoe123
I just found a video from Amusement Insider's and Im surprised no one is talking about Marineland. According to the video, the Zierer Starshape, and Family Drop tower (The park has one already but it was getting old) was supposed to be built last week, but the Canadian Government decided last minute to not allow the German Engineers to built the ride even though the engineers quarantined for 2 weeks and everyone that was going to the during construction came back negative. Looks like there is big construction taking place at the park and the future might be big for the park and there is land clearing on where the bird sanctuary that was planned before being canceled by the wife after the husband died. ricklap77
I mean I am skeptical about a new coaster but hey it's Marinelandand and I think they are capable of surprising us! They have a lot of land and potential.
coasterbill
This is possibly the weirdest place in the world so while I wouldn't think they'd ever be able to afford a new coaster, buying one for no reason and making us all wonder what they're smoking up there would be on-brand I guess. Canobie Coaster
On one hand, it'd be great to see this park use their infinite amount of land. On the other hand, that would make me want to go back there.
grsupercity
A zierer Starshape seems like a pretty big deal. Not common around here at all.
ricklap77
Still great to see they are building rides in these difficult times. So far the pandemic isn't letting go.
coasterbill
I mean... in a world of social distancing they’re probably pretty well positioned. If they ran this place at 25% capacity that would probably be equal to the population of some small countries. 1
bert425
^ yup. we were there on an apparently "busy" day 2 years ago: they got LOTS of space.

This park looks like a Roller Coaster Tycoon mistake where you spent all your loan on land and paths, before you build enough rides. Just a couple of peeps walking around saying I want to go on something more exciting than Dragon Mountain.
ricklap77
Just imagine if Six Flags bought that place with a huge loan!!!!! Wooooowwww!!!!! They could install whatever they want to! No space issue!

BigJoe123
Looks like Marineland and the Town of Niagara is expanding Amusement Insiders posted a video talking about the expansion, here are some notes from that video The Town of Niagara is planning The town of Niagara said that Marineland is an important aspect for Niagara Falls Tourism and they're gonna rely on investing into the park and in such get the park to year round operation and all day fun Changing height limit in some areas from 10 stories to 30 stories Planning a people mover that connects all the Casinos and tourist attractions Marineland By 2031 Marineland will be a completely different park Planning an onsite hotel when the park goes year round and all day starting a rapid expansion plan and, "There are alot of attractions coming along with it." "There will a be a roller coaster that's going to fit in this expansion plan, sometime sooner that later." Will most likely receive city funding for the expansion The hotel will most likely be 10 stories with 150 rooms to 30 stories with 232 rooms (We don't know exactly but around there for height and rooms)
anonymouscactus
Didn't watch the video or see any of the details other than what was posted above, but as someone who lives near Niagara Falls.... ummmmm... good luck with that. Place feels like a ghost town in the winter, and MarineLand is a ghost town, well, always... -- I don't think moving to year round operations will change that. If you think about if they put a section of the park indoors like Toverland, they can easily have it a year round park. Winter events in Canada have been pretty popular (Winterfest). It would also be tough competition for wonderland
ricklap77
WOW!!!!! This is great news! Marineland is huge and has so much potential. When it first opened it was going to be developped into a huge park with plenty of attractions. Sadly it did not grow as intended. But they have so much room to build pretty much anything! I really hope they install a quite big rollercoaster. Some nice wooden coaster or a hypercoaster, or both! Marineland is a very large park, nice and clean. It totally deserves a huge expansion and it is a staple in Niagara Falls.
SoCalJasonland
They need an indoor waterpark with an 167 foot tall water slide marketed to dropping from a vertical height of the Horseshoe Falls. Verrückt was 168 feet tall so it should be doable.

A big part of why it didn't grow as intended was because the original owner, supposedly, didn't want to make large investments unless he was guaranteed an immediate return on investment. Now that his family is in charge, they seem a lot more willing to invest in the park given that they've added brand-new attractions three years in a row now. The two roller coasters that I would really like to see within the next ten years is a midsized Gravity Group wooden coaster like Timber or Kentucky Flyer. I'd also like to see either an S&S or Mack hypercoaster. I'd also like to see an arctic themed water park. I'm excited to see what these next few years are like for the park. I actually find them really enjoyable and fun! Plus, I mean when Marineland DOES add something new, they usually don't skimp out on that investment; it would probably have all the magnetic fins like Arashi. Plus they would probably dress up the ride pretty nice just like they did with Polar Splash and one of their most recent flat rides, Ocean Odyssey. But honestly, anything to start filling out the park would make me happy!
