Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Recommended Posts

I heard some already mentioned things at Hersheypark like, "The back is faster," while in line for the Wildcat.

And in line for Storm Runner, I heard someone say, "Kingda Ka is the third tallest coaster in the world and Top Thrill Dragster is the tallest."

I wonder what is second...

Probably The Formula Rossa. It's fast, so it's gotta be tall right?

I was in line for X-Flight a few days ago and these two little girls were talking about the black spiders SFGAm puts on American Eagle during Fright Fest. One girl was bragging that her daddy climbed American Eagle's structure and stole the big spider and put it in his garage, because the police were looking for him. Not sure how her dad has that big of a garage, or how he was able to climb the structure in the first place.

Those things are inflatable, but she was still obviously making it up.

He doesn't want to tell her the real reason the police are looking for him, that's why he said it.

Showing my cousin (Who's a CGA regular/inactive TPR member) S:UF at SFDK (Promo video, train was doing reverse launch), talking about how it would be funny if the train overshot the reverse launch and valleyed in the non-inverting loop:

"What's the point of that loop anyway, as in, what is it actually there for?"

Me: (Continues to play video)

Cousin: "Aaah...Now I see!"

Me: *Facepalm* "It only takes a genius to figure that one out!"

^The location is certainly something to set it apart from other Windstorm models. Overlooking that valley off the list is amazing.

EDIT: My bad, i must have seen something else. Thinking of the new Glenwood coaster, not Mind Eraser.

Just remembered, last weekend at CGA... I was asked about what Theme Park Review was and I got to telling them. Surprised that there's a whole group of people who love riding coasters, they began asking me the usual "what's your favorite coaster" and stuff like that. We then got to talking about SFMM and parks in general when I then told them about the TPR meetup last year and how we got to go backstage. Thanks to Hollywood magic, they asked about the underground tunnels. We told them that they were only in the movies that they didn't really exist, followed by showing them the 'magic shed' that lead to the underground network of tunnels. They were pretty shocked about how much info we were able to share. I ended the conversation with them showing them the proposed GCI photo which they were excited about (and again, surprised I had that photo ready to show, have it saved on my phone).

In the end they weren't your standard GP (as in they wouldn't think that the ride would get stuck upside down when the power cuts out) as they had common sense...just casual riders who love coasters.

On Wednesday (what we thought was Maverick Platinum Pass Ride Night, but turned out to not be due to a scheduling change), there was a kid ranting that he would not go on Maverick because it was "the worst ride at Cedar Point" and "bangs your head"... apparently he rode it and never would ride it again... the worst thing is that we were waiting for Platinum Pass Ride Night, and he was talking about Kings Island, what to replace Maverick with (not knowing the ride is practically brand-new). And he even knew Disaster Transport used to be Avalanche Run, although we argued whether it changed in 1989 or 1991 - I forgot who was right. So this kid is not your ordinary GP - he seems a bit like an enthusiast, and he thinks that Maverick (frequently the longest line at the park and a brand new coaster, and a favorite among enthusiasts and GP alike) is bad enough to be torn down... What in the world? While I agree Maverick is a bit rough, roughness is part of the ride, with fast transitions, and there are worse rides at CP (Corkscrew in some seats, perhaps?)

On the Green Lantern @ SF Great Adventure video from TPR-

Thats Riddlers Revenge. Not Green Lantern

If he knows about Riddler's Revenge, shouldn't he know that it's layout is different (and for a less technical explanation, I don't think Riddler's Revenge has a yellow loop.)

I didn't like this ride it was too slow

Um... One of the fastest standups? It's not that slow,

they put a mini seat on the coaster where you are suposed to be standing for absolutely no reason its suposed to be a stand up roller coaster . this is not the smartest idea theyve had for a roller coaster . it would have been better if they made it so that your legs can dangle in the air

If you sat wrong, a hypothetical floorless stand-up like this guy says with the g-force of a Green Lantern/Mantis layout (I've never been on Green Lantern, but I'm pretty sure the g-force is like Mantis) could sterilize you.

Warning - Do not stand up on this ride

Not quite stupid GP (more like sarcastic YouTube commenter), but I HAD to put this in.

the outcome for me riding this ride

1. my legs are officially paralyzed

2. i cant have kids

FML

This explains the results of the hypothetical floorless standup shown earlier.

the ride on the left at 00:15 looks like dominator

There are two things on the left at this point - what I assume to be S:UF AND the ride's own loop. This guy must not have watched the video fully, because he thought the loop was another ride - until he says-

oh poo-poo I didn`t know it was part of the ride in tell I watched the whole video

So don't comment without at least checking to see if your comment can make you look stupid!

By the way, poo-poo is s**t in the real comment, but I guess it's hilariously censored.

A few weeks back at SFDK I was sitting on a bench cooling off with a soda when I heard a kid mention "I hope we don't die!" I just sniggered and felt like telling them that it was a very small chance indeed

Just told one of my friends that I'm going to visit California Adventure in a week or two to see Carsland. He asked me what DCA was and then asked if Carsland was a roller coaster.

I talked to another friend about going to Universal and he replied by saying, "CityWalk?"

Me: No, Universal Studios. The theme park.

Him: Wait, Universal has rides? I never knew that...

Clearly my friends know nothing about the parks.
