hydra Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Is this being set up at the manufacturing plant? If so...what's all that purple (Gerstlauer?/Mack?) track for?
KarlaKoaster Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Could the purpley/pink track be for DC Rivals? Not sure how old the photo is.
hydra Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 That's what I thought, but they just posted it on their facebook. Not sure who they may do some manufacturing for. It looks like Gerstlauer track to me. Since I believe Mack does most of their manufacturing in Rust.
Gav Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Visually, it looks incredible, but based off that POV, the ride experience looks incredibly boring. Â Also, this may be a stupid question, but what keeps the water flowing through the ride? Wouldn't it build up in the bottom corners of the slide? Â Wouldn't the 'puddle' of water the raft is in move through with the raft? Problem? Â This is basically just a giant auger pump.
RyanTPM Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 ^^Id definitely say that it's Gerstlauer track, i recognise the building and area from other track pictures in the past

Ah you could be right, I was just putting it out there as a suggestion - I can't really tell the difference between Mack and Gerstlauer track
bluebumblebee Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Must be Gerstlauer, you seen this at the track...
Gutterflower Posted September 25, 2017 Author Posted September 25, 2017 Yeah this is at the Gerst plant. I believe at least some of the track is for the Eurofighter heading to Oaks amusement park and the green track has been there for ages and I think is supposed to be a ride for Medowlands. you know when that finally opens
bluebumblebee Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Ah very nice video, it really looks amazing. In the back you can see the track for Hangtime (the turkis)
michaellynn4 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 This ride is definitely eye-catching, but I'm still curious if the actual ride experience will actually deliver.
DoinItForTheFame Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 That looks so amazingly wrong. I still feel like the ride experience is going to be rather blah.
Nrthwnd Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 I hope there's an e-vac plan figured out, if this thing suddenly stops turning or just shuts down.
KarlaKoaster Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Video from TubeRides' Youtube channel of the ride testing, including POV footage. At the moment riders are wearing wetsuits, helmets and possibly back protection, but not sure if this is just for the testing stage or whether this would be a permanent requirement. Â I still quite like the appeal of not knowing when you're going to stop/start although it's probably a 'once and done' kinda experience. We'll see - it's certainly an interesting concept! Â
Hilltopper39 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I don;t have a clue what the price tag on one of these things is but it looks like something that has "Six Flags Clone" written all over it haha.
DoinItForTheFame Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 That POV makes the slide look much more enjoyable than the rendering did. Looks like it would be a fun experience!!
michaellynn4 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I agree the POV looks a lot more fun than the rendering did, but it's clear they edited out the portions of the ride where you stall / rock back and forth until the next drop. I'm sure it was just to reduce the video length and focus in on the more thrilling aspects of the ride, but I'm still curious how the full length of the ride experience will feel, stalls and all. I'd still definitely give it a try, at least.
Gutterflower Posted December 30, 2017 Author Posted December 30, 2017 Well its gone vertical. Can't wait to see this go up. Â https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/4aBR7AlnzjtZPQLueXVxrA Â
Nrthwnd Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 ^ My thought too, as well as.... ...But it's not Wednesday.
KarlaKoaster Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 Here's an update on the Slide Wheel via Wiegand's Instagram. It is complete and already testing. I think when Wiegand asked what colour Chimelong wanted, their response was 'all of them'.  Also they have sold another three:  Reda Waterpark, Poland Nantong Waterpark, China Jinzhong Waterpark, China  I would love to see a full, unedited POV of this. The fact the raft randomly stops and starts (and without warning) within the wheel could make or break this ride in my opinion. It could be fun and add another dimension, or it could just interrupt the flow of the ride. I suppose the motion will be similar to Mickey's Sun Wheel but without the benefit of having a point of reference to see when you will stop/start. They are wearing helmets during testing because of site regulations They are wearing helmets during testing because of site regulations
