What's New for 2015

Recommended Posts

^ I read some where in the past couple of months,

that Shanghai Disneyland wasn't going to open, until early 2016.

What I remember reading. Could be totally wrong, of course.

Anyone else think this is the best year for Coasters since the Millenia-Boom?

-New !!!Intamin Mega!!! in China

-B&M's likely best coaster Fury325 and finally a launched as well (and 4 more coasters to boot)

-Mack first true Megacoaster (and 2 Mack Launchers)

-2 RMCs, including possible best Dueling Coaster in existence

-Karnan, Gerstlauer's tallest project ever (and Wiener Prater's enclosed coaster)

-Cannibal, the crazy twin in Utah

-First S&S Free spin (Batman), and a compressed launcher as well

-SIX new Gravity Group Wooden, including the Ireland project and the first modern wooden-shuttle

-Massive new GCI (Viper) in China, and the return of the Starliner

-Rampage is reopened after 3 years!

-Impulse, Laugh Trakk, Tempesto, No more crotch nightmares at Cedar Point

I just feel like this is an insane year for quality additions in comparison to the last decade and a half. I don't think any other year has had even half the amount of "yeah I should definitely make a special trip for that this year" level rides. And this doesn't include all the great flats and dark rides coming to seasonal parks or the majors. I'm pessimistic by nature and I'm still totally pumped.

I think I would have to agree with you! Sadly I won't get to experience most of the coasters you mentioned this year...except for Twisted Colossus!

2012 was also a pretty awesome year...but I agree...there's a LOT of great rides coming this year as well!

Martin's Fantasy Island has announced their new additions for 2015:

Rock & Roll Express (Music Express clone)

Jack & The Beanstalk (kiddie drop tower)

I wonder if Rock & Roll will operate like it's cousin down I-90 at Waldameer?

Edit - love the first comment about how awesome the new ride will be...when the park opens in mid-August. After the winter we have had, I could almost believe it!

Just found out about this from Screamscape...my "local" park, Castles ~n~ Coasters (located near Phoenix, AZ), is getting a new attraction! It looks promising, at least for a park that really doesn't have much. It's manufactured by Triotech, the same company working on Voyage to the Iron Reef at Knott's. It's scheduled to open in March, but an exact opening hasn't been nailed down yet. It will feature 6 films at opening, but they plan to eventually thin it out to just 2.

Trimpers in Ocean City, MD is adding a new coaster..........

Interesting, I wonder if they are removing something or are they expanding in the parking area where they look to be assembling it now.

From aerial images they seem to have a bit of room between First ST. and the inlet on the side where the Zipper stands.

Thanks, I haven't been there in years and don't know how recent the aerial photos on Google are.
