KingRCT3
Hey, I just came accross this french ad that takes place on a roller coaster lift. It's about a couple that get on a coaster, they are ready to ride but before the action there's the lift hill! And as it's called the Stratos Coaster, it's going to be long... Can't tell more. Ok it's in french and you might not understand anything (too bad, there's a good twist ). But I'm posting this here for a reason. That ad uses TPR's footages! See the ad : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x16f14o The footages they used are and . That wasn't hard to find for the coaster geeks we are! What do you think? edh
I think that is considered illegal since they are using it (likely without permission...) I think your wrong though. The drop is on the opposite side of the lift hill in the two videos.
KingRCT3
I was also wondering on that aspect. Myself I'd be glad if someone uses my work in a national ad, but TPR is a business, so... The second video is mirrored, I'm sure it's those exact videos. Now I'm looking for the park we see in the background at 2:33.
IronWolfman
I thought it was a funny little video. Didn't quite get it, especially if it was an ad, but it was cute.
A.J.
I'm guessing that they're advertising super-fast Internet, because of the super-slow lift hill and the narrator mentioning DSL at the end of the ad. While the footage is obviously replayed from scene to scene, I think that they did a decent job with the green screening and color grading. larrygator
I have no idea what the original poster is talking about.
KingRCT3
What don't you understand? I can try to find other words, but anyways, all you have to understand is that this ad uses footages took from TPR.
larrygator
What don't you understand? I can try to find other words, but anyways, all you have to understand is that this ad uses footages took from TPR. I watched 9 minutes and saw no TPR footage. I have no idea what the purpose of the video is nor who the marketer expects to sit through this video for more than one minute.
KingRCT3
The background behind the people is from TPR's video, and the cut sequences facing forward from . (I linked the exact moments) The point of the ad is to be boring. Yes, to be boring. They want you to skip the lift hill. Try to click further on the timeline and... the video will stop. You'll get a scene where the girl cross the fourth wall and tells you: "You don't have that much patience, uh? Try the optical fiber by Orange, ten times faster than ADSL". I watched the whole video the second time, it lasts 16 minutes. It isn't meant to be watched entirely (in the bottom right, you can see a duration of only 4:00 to fools you), but if you does that, there's another final sequence where the girl says: "Well, you do have the patience. But it was long, wasn't it? Try the Fiber by Orange...". It's a compilation of gags, more or less funny (I liked when they say the anti-roll back sound gets annoying, then it's remplaced by a guy singing: "badum bah, badum bah, badum bah"..!), but the point is making you wanting the end of the lift. I'm amazed you actually waited for 9 minutes! The first time I lasted only two minutes, and no, that's not what she said.
Hhappy
There has been a lot of editing (blue screen) on that ad indeed.. The yellow track on the side with the blue stair thing when looking down looks a lot like the footage.. (gravity Max) Lifthill indeed looks like a flipped lifthill from Diving Coaster.. i'm not 100% sure.. but yeah.. could be...
KingRCT3
I'm totally sure it is. The camera angles, the red box that have been recolored in green on the left in the Gravity Max footage, the sun through the railling on Diving Coaster... IsThisTheRealLife
You can clearly tell that they are two different coasters just by looking at the catwalk

simaticable
I just love how any GP would just assume that the two coasters were one and the same.
Blue Turbo
And they wouldn't notice how there is no way for the train to be connected to the rails
Dr. M
Does TPR not mind random ad companies using their footage presumably without permission...?
robbalvey
Wow! That's crazy. I sold them those clips a few months ago and had no idea where it was going to turn up. That has to be some of the most bizarre use of footage I've seen with one of our videos!
Hercules
I love the inflatable restraints, very secure I think they look comfy. When I first opened this thread I was thinking it was going to be a discussion about putting advertisements on the way up a lift hill. I thought that would be pretty interesting. It is like the last non-commercial spot in parks these days. "Snickers asks you to keep your hands inside the train at all times." "Enjoy the ride. Sponsored by Nissan." Hercules
^^^How funny that it ended up being "authorized" after all! Yeah seriously. Just another example of people talking before they even know what the hell they are talking about.
Aceattack52
Wow I can't believe they used TPR's footage. That's not cool if they didn't talk to Robb first. I came to this thread because I though this was going to be about advertisements placed on the sides of a roller coaster lift so that people can be viewing the ads as they go up the lift. That would be a really cool idea, not to mention MEMORABLE. But this seems like such a good idea that there has to be some place where the park has placed ads going up the side of the lift hill.
