What is the worst place you have ever seen a roller coaster located in a park. The only thing I can think of is flight of fear at Kings Dominion before Intimidator because the "new" GP never knew it was a coaster there or where it was without reading park map lol

Scream at SFMM because they put it right over the parking lot and did nothing after that with the parking spot lines still there.

^^^Agreed with Yoshifan. And I'm pretty sure some of the GP doesn't even know it's there. I've been on a day where Colossus was a half hour wait and Batman was an hour wait..... yet Scream was walk on......

Lightning Racer at Hersheypark. You have one of your best coasters in the back of the park, where not many people go.

Bizzaro. Its HIDDEN in the back of the park away from everything. That and BatWing. Just a horrible park design You don't notice it all the way back there. And any parking lot coasters.

The one I will always remember which I find really silly that my whole family and I missed it, was Montu at busch gardens tampa. Yes it is a big coaster, but I do think they shouldn't have placed it in a 'corner' of the park.

I agree with Batwing at SFA--a remote grassy field behind a huge Intamin ride is not a great location for a Vekoma Flying Dutchman. It's quite a trudge to get back there to see if the blasted thing is even running.

Motocoaster at Darien Lake. You have to leave the park to get to it. Also Darien's Boomerang is in a very strange location next to the Beaver Brothers restaurant.

Backlot Stunt Coaster at Kings Island. Smack dab in the middle of the park. Resulted in removing the Antique Cars and relocating the Flying Scooters to Carowinds to put this average ride in.

Dominator at Kings Dominion. Right on a former parking lot. At least CF planted grass. Would have looked awesome in Hurler's spot.

For me, it would have to be Scream (what a shock) Whenever I ride it, it feels like I'm ridding a rollercoaster in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing around you, and then there's the fact that it sit on top of a parking lot.

Haha, no kidding. The queue is completely hidden by the station. It's hard to get an idea of how long the line is without actually walking ALL THE WAY back there.

I wouldn't say Wild One is really in a "bad" spot per say, but it sure is inconvenient to get to the station with that dead end.

Same with Bizarro at SFGAdv, as donkeyman18 noted.

And is it just me, or does Grizzly at KD have one of the most non-descript entrances? Unless you know what you're looking for (the big grizzly bear), it's hard to spot since the ride and queue line are pretty out of the way from the main path.

It's even worse now as you have to go through the Dinosaurs Alive gift shop to get to Grizzly. Even though it mentions Grizzly in the sign in front of the gift shop they should still make it stand out more along the Old Virginia midway.

The fact that you have to go through a gift shop just to get to Grizzly is sad. Grizzly's entrance should be moved somewhere else so it can be a little more prominent.

Nothing really sticks out to me as a bad spot to have put a coaster, but I think if I had to choose something close, I would pick the late Nightmare at Crackaxle Canyon at the Great Escape. But only because the box it was in, the setting, and the log flume adjacent to it led me to believe that it wasn't even a roller coaster until after I left.

And there are also the coasters in settings that are more annoying than poor decisions. Scream at SFMM for the parking lot. Lightning Racer not getting the attention it deserves, but at least it makes lines really short.

^Yeah, I also felt that the Lightning Racer was away from everything else, as it didn't have many attractions nearby (Ferris Wheel, Whip, and Wild Mouse).

Just going to agree with the general consensus and say Scream at SFMM. Nothing else really sticks out or has that isolated parking lot feel that I've ridden.

I'd say Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm. It's not because it's isolated, but because it is too dominating. That ride ruined the atmosphere of the park more than anything else Cedar Fair has done.

For isolated rides, there's a whole list, but the worst offender is Bizarro at SFGAdv. You can't really see it unless you are nearby, and it is quite a walk from the next nearest attraction. I don't think Scream quite qualifies because if the right track of Colossus is running you exit right into Scream's entrance plaza.

Not really a bad placement of the coaster but more of how the queue is routed (I think this would fit with this thread)...would have to be CGA's Grizzly. For those unaware, you go into a small courtyard inside of Grizz's second turnaround/fan curve which has planter boxes and trees. From there, the ride entrance is inside that courtyard as well as the exit. The path used to be divided but now the former entrance ramp (which has a higher holding capacity) is used for Fast Lane. The newly setup stairs for non fastlane users is routed along the exit path. With this said, the entrance and exit share the same opening. Due to capacity, the queue is now temporarily set up in the courtyard along the planter boxes where non-riders still sit (leaving you wonder if they're in line or not). A ride 'usher' is standing at the entrance/exit regulating flow and letting in about a train load of guests every few minutes so not to block up the path for people exiting. And since the new path doesn't have any rails, an attendant has to stand by that area to make sure those exiting the ride don't quickly get back in line from that area. They would have been better off using the shorter, newly setup path for Fast Lane and leave the existing long windy ramp up to the station for normal guests. Yes, it's a mess and I've gone from riding Grizzly several times down to just once a day.

Though I haven't ridden Scream, it does seem like it was just thrown in there, having to travel deep into a dead end to get to the queue. It was tricky enough for me to find Colossus's entrance when I went to SFMM back in '01, granted this was at night time.

Funny how even before I305 went in FOF was almost always full in the outside queue....it's even worse than that nowadays.

Worst location IMO would be the defunct DF at BGW,the coaster was next to impossible to find being tucked into that corner behind the festhaus which no doubt played a part in it's removal 10 years ago.Placing Batwing in the middle of nowhere at the back of the park at SFA with nothing along that path leading to it also was a rather poor decision on SFA's part because you have quite a hike from the ride all the way up to the restrooms by JJ.
