robbalvey Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) For those of you who might not have had a chance to visit this park, we have posted our video from our 2004 DVD here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/videos/video.htm This park has always gotten a lot of crap, but personally, I haven't had a bad day there. I think this video shows off what the park has to offer. The most recent photos we took of the park can be found here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/tx2004/sfaw1.htm RIP Six Flags Astroworld. --Robb Edited September 19, 2005 by robbalvey
OzCatter Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Thanks Robb, it helps ease the pain. -Cal
Nrthwnd Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) I got to AW only once, in '92. And fell in love with UltraTwister and XLR8, the best (IMO, at that time) suspended coaster I'd been on. Thanks for the video look, Robb. And - Do The Dance, Do The Dance. Robb IS the DanceMAN! DATman Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 awwwwwwwwwww that was taken back in the day when gas wasn't expensive
robbalvey Posted September 13, 2005 Author Posted September 13, 2005 ^ LOL! Yeah....last year! --Robb
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I remember we thought gas was high on that trip. What I wouldn't give for those prices now.
freakout Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I've never been there before myself but from what I've seen it looks like a fun little park. The video was great, I loved the ending.
Erik Johnson Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Thanks for posting this video. It even had Serpent footage on it as well. The coaster train looks different than I remember. Also I remember the Serpent giving you two circuit rides when you rode it because of its short length. Do they still do that?
CorkscrewFoley Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 So what are they going to do with the remaining Antons then? That's my major concern. I have an AW park map from a friend of mine, and it does look like a fun little park.
USCoaster Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Send them to SFMW!!! They already have 2 that don't work.
coaster1 Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I've readded my 2003 video as well: http://www.lonestarthrills.com/features/videogallery.php

memphish Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 To think I'll never get a chance to ride the Bootlegged Cheeseburger.
robbalvey Posted September 14, 2005 Author Posted September 14, 2005 ^ Well you might actually since the Bootlegged Cheeseburger thing happed at the SLC, which is the one coaster I feel has a shot at getting moved! --Robb "Wow, that was a memory from LONG ago!" Alvey
memphish Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 ^That's true. Do you still have that in the archives? That would be cool to see again. Mike "It's boolegged. Boolegged....Cheeburger" Moore
robbalvey Posted September 14, 2005 Author Posted September 14, 2005 ^ Everything pre-2001 has been permanently retired. --Robb
Nrthwnd Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 (edited) ^ Great memory video coaster1 !!! Thanks for The Blast from The Past! (finding myself repeating earlier post - - age does things) Edited September 15, 2005 by Nrthwnd
AllisonY2K Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Dude! What the hell is "Robbin'" Only Elissa is supposed to get "Robbin'"! oh.my.gawd! ROFLMAO!
Phideaux Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 I will miss having the park right in my backyard. I guess I will have to go a few more times before they close the doors forever. I will miss my little slice of fun on loop 610.
zburns999 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Haha. Best...Ending...Ever. Seriously, even my brother who thinks only nerds talk on coaster forums was laughing and telling me to play it over and over.
haydawg149 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 robb i like your little number at the end, nice try . . . LMAO ! !
tngdiablo Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 How has nobody mentioned the "Try our Hand Dipped Fried Twinkies?" That sounds like the most disgusting thing ever. No wonder everyone is fat.
RIPAstroworld Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Nice video of my home (RIP) park. ('') I still haven't driven by the property since it closed. I was at SFOT a few weeks ago; didn't see any Fried Twinkies for sale, but I wasn't exactly looking for them, either. I'm wondering if Robb knows what the Yosemite Sam Dark Ride used to be called ... Sorry, Elissa - before your time ...
Calvin Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Dallas was so cute on the drop ride! I hope my niece is as coaster-orientated as he is... I never got the chance to go to Astroworld but I always wanted to, partially because it was called Astroworld and that is awesome. EDIT: Now I really wish I could've gone. I wonder what they will do with the Schwartzkopf rides? OMG Robb does the Mr. Six dance!
