chadster Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Ok, so after listening to Robb on the bus yesterday about this event, I'm giving it some serious thought. Sure, it's more expensive than we are used to paying, however, when I look at what all you get as a package vs how much it would cost to buy the park admission, Coaster tour, lunch, front of line passes for haunt, haunt, and ERT, it's very reasonable. At this point, flight cost is my only issue. The cheapest flight I've found so far is $400 from Tulsa-Tampa. I've also search Tulsa-Orlando, no luck for the 13th to 17th at a cheaper rate. If there are any travel agents out there that can get a better price, let me know. Otherwise, it's my loyal Southwest and a little over time.
cfc Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Personally, I think this could be the best day at Busch Gardens Tampa ever, and I've been to this park a number of times over the last few years. I'm glad that TPR is getting more into haunt-related events, too--first with Knott's, and now with BGT. Â October is a great month to hit the Florida parks.
ernierocker Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 October is a great month to hit the Florida parks. Â QFT!!!!
Hockeyman55 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hopefully this isnt the last Florida event either, Florida can use more TPR love
downunder Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 My travel plans have changed so I might be able to swing this. Â Question: is the HOS front of Line pass unlimited or is it just one admission per maze? Â Trying to work out how to get down there early on Saturday because the Busch bus from USO doesn't get there until 10 - 11am which means I'll miss the ERT. Otherwise I'd have to come down Friday morning on the Busch bus and sacrifice a HHN night. Â I did Alone last year and it was definitely worth it.
Hockeyman55 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I believe the HOS front of line is just one per house. I may be wrong but I think that is the case. Â Yeah that is a tough choice you have to make. Me personally I wouldn't miss the Cheetah ERT for the world. You have multiple nights HHN is going on but only this one chance for ERT.
Guy T. Koepp Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 October is a great month to hit the Florida parks. Â QFT!!!! Â I QFT your QFT and add an, "I second your statement." Â Guy "I would only include that October is a great month to Hit up most theme park Halloween events." Koepp
BeemerBoy Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 ^ Guy, we're thinking of visiting a couple park in December. In your expert opinion, would you say that's a pretty good month to hit up the Christmas events?
Guy T. Koepp Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 ^Generally I wait until early February to attend the Christmas Themed events at my local parks. The crowds have usually cleared out by then. But I think we're talking about Bush Gardens TPR Halloween event here. Â Guy "Trying my damnedest to not derail a thread for the first time in my life." Koepp
aimster Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Need to check the financials to see if I can swing getting my ticket soon. Otherwise I'm going to have to wait another paycheck to do it. How have ticket sales been so far, Robb? Just curious. I don't want to wait to long and have it sell out on me, which would make me a very sad panda.
robbalvey Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 Ticket sales have been strong, but I don't see this one selling out until the very end.
Hockeyman55 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Can we purchase any of the add on's the morning of the event or even a couple days prior to the event or is best to get those as soon as possible? Definitely getting the Fright Feast but also interested in the Quick Que and Howl-O-Scream Tour but those may be a game time type decision and may have to wait till last minute for me to buy if they are still available.
cfc Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^Based on my personal experience with Howl-o-Screams on Saturday nights, you will need the Quick Queue. It can get crazy crowded.
Hockeyman55 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^Based on my personal experience with Howl-o-Screams on Saturday nights, you will need the Quick Queue. It can get crazy crowded. Â Â Â I would like to get them sooner rather than later but have to wait till its closer to the event to see how things are money wise. Same with the haunt behind the scenes tour.
cfc Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^^Understood--but whatever your decision, you're gonna have a great time! A TPR Bash + a Halloween Event = Amazing! (Or "Amazeballs," as Piers says.)
SuperShawn Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 All signed up too. This will be my first Halloween event, which has me nervous because I'm a big wuss... But liquor courage will help. Hopefully...
piers Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^It is Busch Gardens Shirley, you HAVE to drink beer!
Hockeyman55 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^ its part of the entry requirements lol. No drinky no entry   Robb and Elissa, will there be an add on option to add the Coasters to the Front Line Fear passes for the night part?
robbalvey Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 ^ That is not an add-on that we were offered, so no, sorry.
Hockeyman55 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^ It's ok no worries. It's going to be a kick donkey ass time regardless.
SuperShawn Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 ^It is Busch Gardens Shirley, you HAVE to drink beer! Â I'll only drink beer because you'll make me again.
BarryH Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Well, I got the time off from work. Now I have to buy the tickets! Â Has anyone looked for a hotel yet? Personally, I'd avoid the ones on Busch Blvd. if at all possible. Try Fowler Ave. I think there's a nice La Quinta and a Wingate Inn around the USF area.
SharkTums Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 ^I agree with you on the hotels. When we stay near the park we usually use the Wingate.
