astroworldfan1 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 i never trust hole in the wall restaurants/shops.it just seems shady and creepy. You have no idea what your missing! So all those mom/pop restaurants that are featured on Food Network are creepy? There's this mom and pop hamburger place at the foot of Lookout Mountain, and it has the BEST burgers I have ever eaten! BTW, my parents own a mom/pop restaurant, and people love it! -Tatum "Don't judge a restaurant by its looks!"
Nrthwnd Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 It looks like I finally got my weight down below the 190 mark! After three months of stationary bike riding and watching what I eat every day. So that's nearly 20 lb. off, since my initial "Winter Gain", lol.
KnottsDisneyFarm Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 ^^I actually ate at some hole-in-the-wall burger place in Whittier called Time-Out burger. Its pretty good.
Nrthwnd Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 ...but I'll actually be walking to my home park, Playland. Because it's (finally) starting it's 2009 season, this weekend!
onewheeled999 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I've got a bottle of Sunny D waiting for me in the fridge.
hansrubens Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I'm going to Plopsaland tomorrow to ride their new coaster Anubis. ----Hans
ebl Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 ^ Hope you have fun. I'd like to take a cruise sometime. But today's slice of Happiness Pie is that I have a new job starting on Monday. Kinda far (50 miles), but it's not the first time I've gone that far to work, and it looks like an interesting position. Eric
tedten Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 ^congrats! I'm happy because it's Little 5 week here at IU = best college week in the country. I got to ride Diamondback on opening day with a buddy. And I'll be visiting more new parks this summer than any other year.
spacemtfan Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 This Sunday is going to be my first Disneyland trip in a year and four months! I can't wait to ride Toy Story Mania and the newly-updated Small World ride.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 All my grades are pretty good, except for English, which became a C+ because of a bombed test. Nevermind that, the rest are A's!
ebl Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 ^ You'll recover from the test and bring that C+ up to an A. I'm going shooting tomorrow with a couple of buddies. Just target practice, though, but still some good fun. Eric
spacemtfan Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 As I mentioned a few posts before this one, I got to go to Disneyland for the first time in more than a year. In the morning, there was a large amount of traffic going into Disneyland...and I mean horribly long traffic. And the tram lines were even worse (but on the plus side, the CM's were on top of tram duty). But to our surprise, the lines were managable during this time. We had a very small time frame so we only managed to squeeze in Small World, Pirates, and California Screamin'. But since we are now doing to monthly payment plan for the AP, we plan to come back during the year and make up for lost time.
Nrthwnd Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Safeway has, in their O-Organics line of deli soups one called Hungarian Vegetable Noodle IMhO - it is MM MMMMMMMMM delicious. Will - buy - more.
onewheeled999 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I'm leaving to go to Disneyland with my school tomorrow at 11:00 PM! Any idea what it's gonna be like on a Friday where there's school, and possibly some minimum days?
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Mmm... Baskin Robins had 31 cents scoop night tonite. I got 3 scoops of ice-cream, each one only 31 cents! It's a promo that's supposed to get the word out that BR gives $100,000 to American firefighters at the end of the year. They don't take any of the money earned that night and donate it to them, but it's just to get the word out. So, if you have a Baskin Robins near you, go get a scoop or 3 before 10 P.M. tonight! EDIT: 700th post! Yay! Yet another thing to be happy about!
onewheeled999 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I'm downloading the beta for Battlefield Heroes right now.
ebl Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Because I'm driving 40 miles on the freeway to work, my CR-V averaged 31 mpg on its last tank of gas! Eric
monsterfan99 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 A few things for me 1) I finally got to watch the 6th season of OZ yesterday. 2) Lake Cozy Dale near Kings Island has been awesome to me so far. Calling to switch to a pop-up trailer from a tent site took a grand total of 46 seconds. I've hotels in off season take 45 minutes to get a hold of someone. 3) I finally get to head to Kings Island Friday. I have been wanting to go there since I was a kid to ride The Beast. Now I get to do that and my first ever coaster enthusiast event. 4) and finally, Pink Lemonade rules.
Nrthwnd Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Found out today, the city will pay us back for the two times we've paid for a plumbing company to come out to check out drain pipes that have been.... uh.... backing up? (Yeah, euuuuuw.) Turns out, it's a city tree's roots that have been making havoc with them. Soooo.... it's their problem, since the tree is their responsibility. And we get several hundred $$$ back from them, at their word! (We hope.)
monsterfan99 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Pride Fighting Champions Final Conflict Absolute DVD came out today. Down to only 2 more DVD's until they are all released.
terrancew_hod Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I got a compliment on a 3D modeling scene I created today (no I can't post it ) At least I'm starting to learn the program. Terry
onewheeled999 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I'm getting out of all but one of my classes tomorrow to do Chalk Art with my Advanced 3D Art class! So that means no geometry or PE!
Nrthwnd Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 ... and I think I'm starting to drop a pound or two a week again, after plateauing for a couple of weeks!
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 By next Saturday, I'll be in California again and have yet another park to my list. DCA, SFMM, and possibly KBF this round. At SFMM, I'll be doing Terminator on opening day. I learned that the park will be opening the ride 2 hours after the ACEr's have had some time to ride. Really, that is true, I learned that from some park people. So I'll be getting my Terminator credit early!
