TPDave
So this week it was a friends birthday and we usually can't celebrate as everyone has exams. This year however, loads of people had already finished so we decided to make up for two years of neglect with something cool! Basically our friend went away for the day and we broke into his room and filled it with 1000 balloons! Read on to see the fun unfold... Each one of the yellow bags contains 100 balloons. I was quite impressed that the cheapest balloons I could find were still "premium quality!" We blew them up in the kitchen/living room and then transferred them to the bedroom in batches of about 100... This is what 100 balloons looks like, I can't wait for the other 900! Blowing up the second lot. 200! We devised a pretty good way of herding balloons throughout the flat! this is about 400... We couldn't resist a play! After about 400 we had to start putting them in through the window otherwise we would blockade ourselves in the room. This involved walking on the perfectly safe lead roof and avoiding the rotting carcass of a dead bird. Lovely... We pushed all the balloons to the other side of the room, nearly half way there! If the window opened too far, the balloonpocalypse ensued. We probably lost about 10 balloons to this throughout the day. This is about 850, notice how you can only see one thing poking out above them now! The final push! We knew it was time to transfer when we could no longer see the TV... It was a lot harder to transfer the balloons when they had to go through the window! Nearly there... Balloon 1000! Blind down, window closed, everything back to normal... The birthday boy arrives to his redecorated room! In a nutshell the reaction was "Wow, this is awesome. Wait a minute, what the hell am I going to do with 1000 balloons?!?" A little sense of the scale of this! The start of the cleanup operation. I filled a cupboard with balloons to be sorted out later... That's probably 150 balloons in our hallway! That large mass of balloons by the window is covering our dining table. This meant food had to be eaten in the hall... Our life size cutout of Peter Crouch (yes it's an odd house) is swamped with the new arrivals! At around 2am we had deflated most of them in near silence!! This was really fun, and I'll definitely be doing it (or something similar!) again sometime. Of course I will share with TPR!!

cfc
Note to self: Give Dave a package of "premium balloons" for a birthday present--along with a helium tank.
TPDave
If we had the money, we would have split 50/50 between helium and air, I think that would have looked really cool! Â Dave
Carnage
Just don't fill them up early morning. Â For my sisters 16th birthday my parents filled her room with helium balloons while she was sleeping. Problem was, as the morning warmed up the balloons expanded and popped. Nice wake up call.

frozenflames
Haha, one of my friends at school was treated to the exact same thing. 1000 balloons in a dorm room. It was really funny, especially because my friends used a wire contraption to unlock the deadbolt from the outside, and several of the balloons were inflated underneath the door. But either way, seeing so many balloons in such a small place is pretty hilarious.
TPDave
^ Ha! Thankfully I didn't have to pick the lock, just covertly unlocked the window a few days earlier so we could jump in! Â Dave
frozenflames
^ My friends had to be a little more sneaky, as this was in a dorm room at college, and those doors are designed to not be picked. Plus our friend that was pranked had a feeling it was coming (since he's been pranked every year for his birthday), and duct-taped the lock shut from the inside. So the wire thing had to break through the tape and THEN un-do the lock.
