Chris Benvenuto
Just as you updated us day by day via Facebook. It looks like you three one hell of a time in the Big Apple, and honestly I'd have to agree had I been there with you guys! Thanks for bringing us kickass updates along the way, it meant alot to me and probably alot of other people too on Facebook. Hope the flight back to Los Angeles goes ok, and the LAX groundcrew isn't too problematic. But, we really do know being on time and non-problematic is something LAX never is! Thanks for all the great updates, again, Robb.
mrtickles
Hilarious trip report guys! Now I like my food, but there's no chance I could fit that much pizza in one day.
Six Flags Enthuseast
Awesome report! I visited NYC in November, and it was such an amazing city! I can remember it now... I visited a few of the places you did, but I wasn't able to make it to a museum or any of the restaurants mentioned in the report. I wish I would've known of the pizza tour's existance; I'd be all over that. Once again, great report!
larrygator
16 hours after the Pizza tour(s): 5 slices of pizza, one plate of baked ziti, 2 garlic knots, 3 mini desserts, 1/2 of Brian's dessert and 4 zeppoles, I still have no desire to eat. Sir Clinksalot
The Pizza Tour ... genius idea. Not only a great way to get some good pizza, but looks like a good way to see the city.

I hear ya! I'm still full. Skipped breakfast this morning. Two large dumps last night, and another coming up soon... Maybe by tonight I'll be ready to eat again - although it will probably be a light dinner. So much EXCELLENT food... Thanks again Larry for the awesome ghetto tour!! What a fun day. robbalvey
Did I read that right, the muppet thing is $99??? I'm sure I would pay that to make my own muppet Do you get to help make it, or do you pick out what you want and they guy makes it all for you????? You get to design it, but the guy has to make it for you as it's all custom built. Lots of gluing, some sewing, I think, it's not like Build-A-Bear where it's all just add-ons, this is the real thing! The Pizza Tour ... genius idea. Not only a great way to get some good pizza, but looks like a good way to see the city. It really was! And it wasn't too much food, in fact, I'd say it was the 'perfect amount.' Scott, the guy that does the tour really seems to have his tour down. We hit four pizza joints in three sections of town - Two in Manhattan, one in Queens, and one in Brooklyn. We had one slice per restaurant, got kitchen tours, met the owners, lots of fun information, really, it was a great tour! --Robb
Ryancrash
And it wasn't too much food, in fact, I'd say it was the 'perfect amount.' Agreed. Honestly, I thought four slices of pizza sounded like it would be overkill, and I didn't think I'd be able to eat that much. But the slices were spread out over a few hours, and they were all cheese slices (not quite as filling as the meat slices I'd usually order). By the end of the tour I was certainly full, but it was "comfortable-and-supremely-satiated" full, not "ouch-I'm-in-pain-kill-me-now" full. DiSab
This really makes me want to go back to NYC. When I was there a few summers ago we didn't see that Muppet place, but I will definitely get there next time I go. Looks pretty cool.
Cameron
Great photos! That pizza looked delicious, and you got to make your own Muppet! (What did you name him?) Thanks for the pics.. Cameron.
RoCo
This report has buried the needle on my win-meter. It's like the TPR equivalent of a classic Woody Allen movie. Man, I am missing New York so much right now...
the ghost
Oh My God! I NEED to make a Muppet ASAP. I love the muppets with a passion and am so eagerly waiting for the new muppets movie, that I cannot even describe it. Also, pizza is the best food there is...thats a fact. BelizeIt
Great report! That pizza tour was amazing, I wish we could get pizza like that out here on the west coast. Whenever you see a 'New York style' pizza offered at a restaurant out here, it never looks anything like that. There something about those wood/coal fired ovens that must make all of the difference. Very tasty indeed! If I ever visit New York, I would definitely do a tour like that.
QueerRudie
How in the HELL did you get my family in a photo? 1.) That was the most obscene, most filthy, most incredibly tasty looking PizzaPorngraphy tour I've ever seen... 2.) Delta being held together with Duct Tape? Hmmmm... Not REALLY all that surprised. 3.) I MUST DO the pizza tour next time I'm going home to Brooklyn. It gives me an excuse to get away from the first pic... And Phoenix, too. Add Phoenix to the list of 'sucks' too, Robb- R.D. BigDipper 80
Dang, you beat me to it! I'm heading to NYC next month for a few days, and this sure gave me a few ideas of what to see during my sojourn! Perhaps I'll post my own photo TR then .
LoopLover
One of the best things about the Alvey trip reports is that thay always force you to go downstairs and make food!
Jojo19799
I must go on this pizza tour next time I visit NYC. I'll even go on Larry's Ghetto Pizza Tour! I've always enjoyed NY style pizza over Chicago style anyway. Thanks for sharing! Now I'm hungry for pizza!

Ryancrash
Now that all the amazing food from yesterday has settled and I’ve finally started eating again, what did I do for dinner tonight? Why, more PIZZA! (What else?) Tonight I hit up another one of my faves… Two Boots. Two Boots has a few locations in the city - I usually go to the one on Avenue A and East 3rd Street. (It used to have an awesome little indie theater and also a movie rental store adjacent to the restaurant - those disappeared in the last couple years, casualties of the economy and the times, but you can still rent movies in the restaurant.) Two Boots is unique in that their pizzas feature cajun flavors. (“Two Boots” - get it? Italy and Louisiana are both shaped like boots.) Tonight I tried the “Swamp Witch” - not one of their regular pizzas, this was something special for Mardi Gras time. The “Swamp Witch” had alligator and pork sausage, crawfish, red and green pesto, and a “swamp witch spice mix”- it was delicious!! Had a bit of kick to it. Oh yeah… and unlike yesterday, tonight I ate a sensible ONE slice.
