^ As the father of a 20-year-old, I always tell her to be careful when she goes somewhere. That's because no matter how good or careful someone is, there's always a moment when their attention is diverted by only a second. And it only takes a second for something to go horribly wrong. Please understand that when people tell you to "be safe," they're showing you that they care.

Why do people always say "be safe" whenever you say you're going somewhere? OF COURSE I'M GOING TO BE SAFE?!?! Do you honestly think I'm going to the YMCA to get drunk, smoke pot, and kill people?

Maybe not yourself, but what if another person waltzes into a YMCA that's drunk, high, has a weapon, and holds you hostage like a Die Hard movie?

Exactly.

I just got FRONT ROW seats to the Jonas Brothers. Why am I ranting? I put in all of my information to buy them, click "submit," then on my screen, I read "System error. Please start over."

I'm now a section away in Row N. FMFL.

This is telling you to give up popular music pretty much in general. It will make the world a better place when we dont have 16 year old sluts singing "KE$HA" or people claiming the Jonas Brothers are super talented. Theres a reason REAL musicians are saying REAL music is dying... dont be part of the problem... resist and be part of the solution.

I don't really understand UPS shipping procedures...my golf clubs were shipped from Rochester, NY and taken to Syracuse, which is like 3.5 hours from my house, and it appears to be a straight shot down 81 and then onto 80 to Bloomsburg, which has 2 exits off of 80. Yet, after checking the tracking status, it looks like they took it to Harrisburg, which is about 1.5 hours past my house. I understand that I don't have the only package being delivered, but I'm a tad confused.

I think Syracuse is one of their larger shipping hubs (I had a package originate from there), and Harrisburg might be the dispatch center for your area.

I believe that's the case.

The thing that gets me is that I bought a golf bag also (through FedEx), which according to that tracking report is about the same size and weight as the package my clubs are in. The bag is coming from some place on the Illinois/Missouri border, which is like 930 miles from here. They shipped it on Monday, and it's going to be here in the next few hours. Long story short, it's going to take UPS the same amount of time to ship something 220 miles that it took FedEx to ship something nearly identical in size/weight 930 miles.

Then, to comfort me more, someone showed me a picture of a golf club that they got shipped to them by UPS. It came looking like so:

Needless to say, I'm worried now.

I need to let off steam so I'm posting here. I AM VERY PISSED OFF AT THE RED SHIRTS IN THAILAND. It would appear that my Aunt restaurant got burned down because of the dam red shirts and there protest.

They both have their quirks and odd operating procedures. I've had issues with FedEx just as much as I've had issues with UPS.

Does anyone miss Yahoo GeoCities? I do indeed! I've visited a lot of them when I first used the Internet until in late 2009, GeoCities sadly closed forever!!

RIP GeoCities! You'll be sadly missed!

My dad made me and my brother a Geocities account way back in 1999. I lost the password and the URL so I couldn't find it anymore.

There was an ongoing Geocities archival project that was going on before the site shut down, but I'm not sure about its current state.

Fortunately, a lot of the GeoCites sites have been archived in the Wayback Machine!

DAMMIT!

So yesterday I decided to play Zelda: Twilight Princess again, since I never made it past the Water temple. I started a new game.

Today, in a single 3 hour session, I got from having to search for the Tears of Light for the first time, all the way to getting the boomerang. I finally solved a puzzle, threw my boome--BAM.

Power went out.

TV went black.

Wii turned off.

3 EFFING HOURS OF PROGRESS LOST.

It's not even stormy or anything, there's no reason for the power to go out. Oh well, now I know to save my game more often.

My stupid computer can't read the external hard drive that I got one f*cking week ago, which contains a lot of important files.
