RCFreak Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Shaun White is INSANE. Agreed, Ginger knows how to FLY!
ParkTrips Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I don't know how curling and the biathlon are sports See, I don't think biathlon is even close to curling. Sure, shooting is more of a skill than anything, but cross country skiing, even at a modest pace, is pretty intensive work, yet alone as fast as they do in the Olympics LOL @ Scott, who pretty much ended any 'debate'
Moose Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Biathlon is even more demanding than just cross country skiing. I had a friend that used to compete and was told about having to control your breathing and heart rate so that you could actually make the shot. If you are out of breath the gun bounces around.
ginzo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Despite lame curling being on, yesterday was a nice day to watch the winter games: -Shani Davis looked great. -Apolo Ohno is fun to watch. -I can't imagine the pain Lindsey Vonn was in when landing after that huge jump at the end of the downhill course. -The only person Shaun White competes with is himself. Suck it, Canada.

I don't get you guys but whatever Curling sucks
Ed Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympic_games/vancouver_2010/alpine_skiing/8521121.stm Go France.. (Video only available in the UK, it's probably on youtube somewhere I hope)
ParkTrips Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Suck it, Canada. haha they've really "owned the podium" You helped end the debate by not responding to what I said once I made a valid point. I don't get you guys but whatever basically I saw Elissa's post and realized.. yeah, I'm arguing over curling.. and decided to stop.

BeemerBoy Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 ^ Not to mention, you can't get your facts straight, and were insulting to Joe..... You need to read a couple pages back. This all started with parktrips saying that curling doesn't require you to be fit. And then I said don't be so quick to make assumptions about something like that..Then some people disagreed with me and backed up parktrips on his possibly ignorant statement. From page 8-9: of course, I mean realistically there aren't many winter sports a normal person couldn't do, and at least Curling requires absolutely no physical fitness! You should try it first before you make a statement like that! I agree.. You simply piggybacked RBOrrell's opinion, and then proceeded to argue like a drunk at a sports bar over a subject you apparently don't even care about. Curling sucks I'm done. Now where's my gold medal?
phazan Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 How is my point invalid? I said curling might take a lot of physical fitness to be really good at it, and you shouldn't make ignorant assumptions on things. That's my point. How hard is it to understand? Apparently really hard for you who are challenging me on a simple statement that most normal people would agree with. Whatever though I will let you (beemerboy) sit and think about how clever and funny you are for beating me in an argument by not responding to anything I said and insulting me. Real mature
ginzo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 ^I heard Shaun White just signed a celebrity endorsement deal with Chick-Fil-A. Real mature Maybe you should *chill* and watch some porn or something.

mcjaco Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Maybe you should *chill* and watch some porn or something. Agreed. It's f'in curling. Matt "are we going to have to ban all sports topics at TPR?" Jacobs
cobra_roll06 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 ^^LOL! Anyway, I've not followed any of the Olympics yet which sucks as I LOVE it! I really need to get my butt in gear and get watching. Then maybe take up curling once I get back in shape...

Skycoastin Steve Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 USA hockey beating Norway 2-0 in the 1st!
Hattuchili Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Gold for Germany (Maria Riesch) in the Ladies' Super Combined. Its really sad that Lindsey Vonn couldn´t finish the last race. On the other hand I am happy for Anja Paerson, winning the bronze medal, after the fell down so badly, yesterday.
ParkTrips Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Larry you know me all too well Poor Lindsey Vonn, so close to gold..
SharkTums Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 I'm kind of thinking that other USA chick is even hotter though and she now has more medals!!!!
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I like Tanith Belbin from the US Figure Skating team! She only lives like an hour away from me, too. Not that I'd ever have a chance or anything, haha.
nursemelis374 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 So happy for USA getting gold in figure skating tonight! I didn't want that cocky Russian guy to win. Also pretty cool that the first Japanese skater ever to get a metal got his tonight! However, I am pissed that I foolishly turned on my computer and was greeted on my homepage with the spoiler for who won. I am not going to keep beating that dead horse too much though. Now off to cry, once again, while they play the National Anthem.
ginzo Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I'm kind of thinking that other USA chick is even hotter though and she now has more medals!!!! Mancuso is undoubtedly better looking, but Lindsey Vonn is the better skier. At least in downhill. So happy for USA getting gold in figure skating tonight! I didn't want that cocky Russian guy to win. Also pretty cool that the first Japanese skater ever to get a metal got his tonight! Lysacek just "wanted it" more and skated a better routine. Plushenko's attitude seems to be some kind of character he's playing. I think the main arrogant thing he did was to only train for 6 months. That's not a lot of time.
BeemerBoy Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I'm kind of thinking that other USA chick is even hotter though and she now has more medals!!!! This needs to be a poll! I've currently got it scored like this: Gretchen Bleiler > Julia Mancuso > Lindsey Vonn
ginzo Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 ^Here are decent shots of all three: Gretchen Bleiler Julia Mancuso Lindsey Vonn I'm still voting for Mancuso.
