Theme Park Review's MASSIVE Europe Photo Update!

Recommended Posts

I went while I was living in Italy for two years. It sounds like you got typical Italian customer service! It is worse in the south and particularly bad if you don't speak Italian. As I lived there longer and learned more lingua Italiano, the treatment at various establishments as far ranging as grocery stores, hotels and even the toll booths improved.

100 mile tunnel of death? You must be talking about the Mont Blanc tunnel. It's long, it's boring, and dozens of people died in there when a truck caught on fire and sucked all the oxygen out of the tunnel. Whee!

if you did take the Mont Blanc tunnel, then you could have seen the Matterhorn from several of the rest areas in Valle d'Aosta if it was daylight and clear skied. I slept at one of the rest areas just before the highway ends one night, and awoke to the lovely sight of an early sunrise framing the storied birthplace of WED's Abominable Animatronic Snowperson itself.

Like Robb said, Movie Park was the surprise of the trip. I don't think any of us expected to spend more than a few hours there, but we ended up doing every attraction and had a great time! Sure, the place is new and sort of small, but the people running the park are really into it, and their attitude reflects in the operation of the place. While their budget is likely a small fraction of what Universal or Disney would spend on a show, they use a lot of creativity and come up with stuff that's just as good (if not better) as something you'd see at another studio tour. And if you like to see stuff blowing up, THIS is the place to visit!

Here's hoping that tomorrow's update will contain plenty of photos of the TUNNEL OF DEATH where we had to narrowly dodge guys hurling barrels full of napalm and firing rocket launchers at our car, as well as having to steer around Godzilla and MecaGodzilla breathing radioactive fire at us. Or at least this is what Elisssa led us all to believe was going to happen...

Well, Robb, I thought I hated Vekoma as much as the next preson. As much for the cookie cutter buisness model they run, (Really have they ever built any coaster model just once?) as much as the general levels of pain I associate with those same cookie cutter coasters. Honestly though, is a Boomerang's backwards section as bad as anal rape? I've never been through such an experience, but it just doesn't seem as though the two would be comparable.

Who is hoping to complete his collection of Tokyo area coasters with the previously closed Space Mountain with Gregleg on Thursday and the twice previously closed Linear Gale with the ACE'rs and ECC'rs on Monday.

Walibi Rhone-Alpes looks like the european equivenent of a parking lot carnival. I mean, its so shady looking. All ya need is a few rednecks with whispy mustaches and mullets that smell of miluwaukees best and camel non filters running the rides, then the experience would be complete.

Movie Park looks interesting. IMO, the water park looks far better than the theme park! The "Water Jump" was very cool! It looks really fun.

Walibi Rhone Alpes looks like an insane, crap park with random rides. :? I don't think I would enjoy myself there at all. The "Abnormal Boomerang" video was funny. I've never seen one like that before.

My computer is very old and slow, even w/ a cable modem. Because of that, I have not been able to see the Europa vid yet.

I think this is the shortest update, you ever made! Only two sites. However, it was funny, again! That Walibi park looks not so good, but you get your credits.

There wasn't much to take photos of! Had one of us gone scuba diving in Malaria Lake it would have made for a MUCH better update. But there wasn't anyone we wanted to sacrafice other than Joey and he hadn't paid up yet!

Yet another great update (Ive been following along, but not posting...until now.) Im suprised that you didnt think Express would be fun. Its looked like a nice ride to me, ever since I saw the shots of it from the official Pinfari site. I guess its because of SLC's but I dont actually mind those things (probbly cuz I ride with my head out of the banging zone^^) Aaaanyway, great update. Only thing I havent enjoyed in your tr's so far is the goatage, just cuz I feel unconfortable around them, but thats a personal issue I guess *shudders*

Those little Pinfari Inverts are great fun! I've been on M&D's version while it was still operating as a travelling ride (and when it was still named Tsunami), and that really surprised me! It does die a bit after the midcourse brake though.
