Rugged One
Yeah... I've pretty much given up. Derek and Heath pretty much own this thread now. Hop Devil beats out Widmer any day. Ah come on Wally, I really enjoy your posts. You always have some interesting beers to share with us all. I haven't been able to post for awhile do to my various travels over the last couple of weeks, so I've got some catching up to do. I'll start with last night and work my way back over the last couple of weeks. I finished up with a Misfit Red Amber Ale to try and put out the fire (notice I'm sweating from how spicey this stuff was). For dinner I had my DuClaw favorite. Their spicey jambalaya. And holy crap was it spicey! While Kim enjoyed their Bare Ass Blonde Ale. I started out with a Venom Pale Ale. We enjoy the bar vibe at this one but it's alot smaller than our favorite one in Fells Point. We went to a beer release at this one back in December and you couldn't even move in the place. Kim and I hit up the DuClaw branch last night at the Arundel Mills Mall, which is a huge kick ass mall just south of Baltimore.

Rugged One
So on Monday, after a fun filled weekend involving Holiday World, Beech Bend, PKI, and SFKK, we still had a little bit of time to kill in Louisville before our flight home. Of course we couldn't leave town before visiting at least one local micobrew. Our flight back to Baltimore on Monday night was oversold so Kim and I gave our seats up for a bunch of Southwest credit dollars that will be used to finance our return to San Diego later in the year. At the hotel I broke in my 750 ml bottle of Homewrecke I finished up with the Smoked Wheat, which was pretty much as advertised. All in all, we enjoyed the BBC and it will definitley be a stop whenever we're in town. Jay digs the Darkstar porter. Lots of brewing going on in the back. Turns out it's an IPA. A really hoppy and delicious one at that! They had all kinds of good looking stuff on tap. I was all intrigued by what the Mind Numbing Ale could be. We did find out that the original Blue Grass Brewing Company was open and it turned out to be a great choice. The first couple of places we tried to call first but they didn't open until later in the afternoon and the one that was supposed to be open (Brownings) ended up not being open at all when we showed up. Shame as it looked like a cool place, situated right
niiicolaaah
^ Especially if I end up naked with beer!!! You could do a shot where both you and Elissa are naked with beer bottles in strategic places!

DerekRx
OK, I was gonna go farther than this, but couldn't strategically do it PG-13 style by myself with only a 10 second delay in the camera, so this will have to do. If you're easily frightened, you may not want to look at the pictures. If you look at the pictures too long, you may go blind. You've been warned! Ah, but you wanted to see 3rd nipple, huh? Well, here ya go! Topless Signature Move! With a SlyFox Rt 113 IPA

Erik Johnson
Oh dear, Leanne has now banned me from this thread. Thanks a lot Elissa! And there is no way Leanne will see the Derek photos, we have seen The Man With the Golden Gun, and she knows what that "extra" bit means.
ParkTrips
^ LOL! Where did Anthony's post go?? OK, I was gonna go farther than this, but couldn't strategically do it PG-13 style by myself with only a 10 second delay in the camera, so this will have to do. I feel your pain... disregarding the fact I couldn't post the photo anyway (site rules!), it was a challenge to say the least.
DerekRx
Back to being clothed (until it gets too hot again!). Breaking out the wheats for the summer! This is my kind of sunshine! New Belgium's Sunshine Wheat
cfc
Well, you won't find any hot nipple action here, but this is something to do with milk and beer. I just picked up a new flavor (according to the container, at least) of Ben & Jerry's at the supermarket tonight--"Black & Tan." It's a "cream stout" swirled with chocolate ice cream! Call it a sort of "beershake." The verdict: Well, the chocolate seems to dominate, but there's definitely a hint of stout. Pretty good. Burp! Nice aftertaste. What guy wouldn't be intrigued with this?
SharkTums
^Wow, that's kind of insane!
cfc
^I was surprised to see it myself--a very odd notion, beer-and-chocolate-flavored ice cream. Then again, it makes more sense that the garlic ice cream they sell in Gilroy, Calif., during their annual garlic festival. And the Black and Tan ice cream wasn't bad--not my favorite flavor, but not bad.
mcjaco
OK, here's what I had tonight. Wally, eat your heart out, it's a Bud Light. It's part of a Photo TR I hope to get up in the next few days......heh heh, I said "get up." I'm a Cub Fan and a Bud Man, ok maybe not. There's no way you're getting me to drink Old Style! JamesMC
No pic, but it was a Summit Winter Ale. Since it's technically out of season, the local store was selling it off for $2.99 a six-pack. It's a great beer nonetheless and you just can't beat the price. Tasty, tasty treat. Yum.
DerekRx
Started off tonight with a Blue Paddle Pils by New Belgium. I had a tasting of it over the weekend, but decided to divulge into a whole bottle today. Pretty tasty, very easy to drink. HopDevil, bringer of happiness Hadn't had one of these yet this week, shame on me! Quite easy to drink, very crisp and refreshing Blue Paddle (though the paddle isn't blue, go figure)

mcjaco
OK Derek. I see your Hop Devil and raise you one. This is my first. It gets a thumbs up from me. As for the the look, I'm post shower after softball. So technically I was naked....just before these pictures. Mmmmm. Glad I picked this one up. My Hop Devil. Looks good. Rugged One
Getting back to the beer and ice cream thing. When I was in So Cal last week, it was a common at some of the breweries to offer Stout and Porter floats. Unfortnately, I didn't get to try one. Next time though. I guess Derek was on to something a couple of months ago when he mixed his stout and ice cream bar! Some of the last 2 nights samplings. Finally. The latest offering from Weyerbacher. The Simcoe Double IPA. Mmmm. Great balace of hops and malt and a nice citrus aroma. Looking forward to more of this one. Finally got around to trying some of the Cricket Hill Hopnotic IPA that Adam had hooked me up with. A little weak at first but more flavors came out the warmer it got. Ended May with a Maibock of course. This one was kind of local (from Fordham Brewing in Annapolis) and was quite good.
Rugged One
Finally getting around to posting these from last Thursday. Let's see, we got back from a week in California around 4:30 am last Thursday and had less than 24 hours before we had to be on the road for our next trip to Holiwood Nights. What do you think we used that time to do? Sleep? Pack? Nah. We drove down to Baltimore for the latest DuClaw release of course. ...or this one. I don't think Kim's ready for the double IPAs quite yet. I don't know what sums up the Serum more. This pic... Oooooh! Free glasses! Finally, Jay and I get to sit down with our spoils. The Serum Double IPA. And it's a good one. Hoppy as all get out. The release video was really well done, using footage from Pulp Fiction. "Mind if I have some of your tasty beverage to wash this down with?" Next month is another one I'm pumped about. The Sawtooth Belgian Wit. Trivia time. A lot of the trivia this time had to do with the history of the IPA and various barbituates. What a nice combo! For dinner I had the blackened tuna melt, the dinner special they had running with the release. Of course I had to start out with the Venom, just to get my taste buds tingling. I was really looking forward to this release. The hoppiest things they usually brew is the Venom Pale Ale, so when they bust out a double IPA, it's something to get excited about. Yeah, we're back at Duclaw!
