65skylark Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 We headed a few blocks down the street for dinner tonight at McMenamins Pub for a burger and some of there fantastic micro brews! McMenamins is another great Northwest micro brewing company http://mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=75&category=Brewery%20Homepage Me enjoying a McMenamins wheat bear.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 ^Wow! They still use the old fashion way of filling kegs.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 ^I wanted to quote Beavis and Butthead by saying something about bungs and bungholes... but I'm tired.
Hattuchili Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Okay Wally, I think everything is okay between us, again! Thats why I post a new beer photo! Last evening I had a Anheuser Bush. --Sören
cfc Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 Sierra Nevada Pale Ale--also rather fond of Anchor Steam. Chuck "Why is drinking Budweiser like making love in a canoe?" Campbell
crispy Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Yeah, well tonight we had a birthday party at a place that is VERY simular to chuck e cheese BUT, they sold beer, which was a GODSEND My first beer was a Michelobe, second beer was a Bud THANK GOD FOR BEER< it drowned out the screaching children
4718 Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 All this talk about Anchor Steam makes me wonder if any of the in town places have it......gonna have to do some searching. Oh yeah, Newcastle Brown Ale: thought it was pretty darn good, and lived up to the label saying "full of flavor without bitterness" or something like that.....nice one I'll have to remember.
PhishyBrewer Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I'll have plenty a beer photos to share once I get back to California. Check it out tomorrow.
cfc Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 All this talk about Anchor Steam makes me wonder if any of the in town places have it......gonna have to do some searching. Anchor Steam is a San Francisco brewery. You're not likely to find it at a regular supermarket, so check your gourmet food and wine shops. As for why is drinking Budweiser like making love in a canoe . . . Chuck "They're both f-----g close to water!" Campbell

PhishyBrewer Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Wow! What a weekend. If I took a picture of everything I drank this weekend, you'd think that I might of killed my liver. Mmm... Dortmunder Gold The house red at Bay Harbor Inn Molson Canadian Pitcher of Labatt Heineman's Sweet Catawba I had a Dortmunder, Karen had a Labatt. Bud Select
cfc Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Let's not forget the Wally makes a very good living from brewing that water everyday. Not from me, but to each his own. I think that most mass-market American brews are meant for chugging, not so much for savoring. But the absolute worst beer I've ever encountered was this really cheap swill called Red, White, and Blue. Crack open a can and it smells like somebody just farted.

Nrthwnd Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Can of Bud Light. Hey, there were two cans of BL left over from a party we had. Couldn't just chuck'em.
65skylark Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Nice TR Wally. Looks like you guys had a great time.
4718 Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 There's a couple places in town that are "gourmet", not sure if I wanna be seen buying booze there though. Had a Beck's Dark last night, it was pretty good, but no Newcastle.
What Now Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Had Bass Ale at a Pub in Woodland Hills, CA. I think it's my favorite Ale so far.
4718 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Had a 24oz Sam Adams tonight, meh on the taste, but at least the big-ness is making things "cool" now.
CoasterFanatic Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 No picture, but my buddy had this tapped in his basement so I grabbed a pint last night. Pale Ales are pretty much my favorite and this didn't disappoint.
MrsPhishy Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 ^^ Great Lakes beer on tap in your own home...that may Wally's version of Heaven.
smells_like_team_disney Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 2 glasses of some funky Merlot. Don't know the name of it, but they serve it at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. I felt bad that my friend paid so much for it, so I forced myself to drink it.... nasty stuff!
CoasterFanatic Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Great Lakes beer on tap in your own home...that may Wally's version of Heaven. Interestingly enough, I can get the kegs at the distributor right down the road. Living in WV, I have to drive to PA to get any of the great PA microbrews, but since Great Lakes is brewed in OH .... Jackpot!
