monsterfan99
Robb, will the Coaster Footage series still be available/made available for iTune/MP4 download from the TRP store after 2/1/10?
robbalvey
^ No. It has to do with the additional amount of work it takes to create each DVD we do. The Coaster Footage series DVDs have been impacting the rate at which we can release more Coaster Expedition DVDs, Roller Coasters in the RAW DVDs, etc. I want to start up Roller Coasters in the RAW Blu-Ray and Dark Rides in the RAW which will require a significant amount of work so somethings gotta give! As for if we will still have the Coaster Footage DVDs available as downloads after Feb 1st, 2010, it's not been decided yet. --Robb
DBru
The RAW DVDs will still be available to buy after that date, though, correct?
DenDen
Technical question: If I order this collection, would I be able to get the entire collection without the sticker-labels on this disks? (ei. are these pre-made and ready to ship?) I had an issue with Japanamania I ordered that had "dirt" under the stickers. (Centuries ago, I already made a copy that works, just didn't want to run into problems again.)
robbalvey
^^ Dbru, yes of course. No where does it say we are retiring the RAW series. ^ DenDen, we actually haven't been using the sticker labels now for about 2 years. We are thermal printing all of our DVDs now and haven't had a single bad one returned since! --Robb
Chris Benvenuto
^ Hey, I respect the decision. I still have the first two Coaster Season's on VHS tape, back when they were still called "Robb Alvey's Coaster Season 2001 and 2002." *raises glass* Here's to the series, and to a continuing good ride with the DVD's/Blu-Ray's. I'm glad that I've supported both series until now!
rcdude
I would buy this but since I already have all 12 volumes there wouldn't be much point. Although I like the coaster footage discs, I think it will end up being better to have all the park footage in one series and all the coaster footage in a different series. I've personally been watching the coaster footage discs a lot less since I got the Roller Coasters in the Raw DVDs a couple months ago.
Screamin_Eagle
Change is always good, the DVD series was definitely a nice one. Dark Rides in the Raw sounds interesting, I will be looking forward to seeing that series for sure. Thanks Rob for making all those DVD's!
coasterville
Thanks Robb, already have my order in. I'd been meaning to ask you if you would cut a deal to buy the whole set, and now you have. themeparkologist
Are the Coaster Footage discs an older version of RAW...sort of?
jedimaster1227
^I would consider them the predecessor, but they are different in several ways. The Coaster Footage series still has music and features several POVs in each segment. The RAW series has no audio besides what is recorded with the footage you see and focuses on the rides as individual segments.
nannerdw
Does this mean that future Coaster Expedition dvd's will contain only one disk?
robbalvey
Are the Coaster Footage discs an older version of RAW...sort of? We have posted sample segments from them on the store order form, but here are three of them so you can get an idea of what they are like. Keep in mind that the 12 Footage DVDs contains over 400 different rides and roller coasters! mattnz
Intriguing to hear that you're looking into blu-ray Robb! Awesome!! The RAW footage will never look better.
Emiroo
I want to start up Roller Coasters in the RAW Blu-Ray --Robb Consider at least one copy of this already sold!!!
robbalvey
Does this mean that future Coaster Expedition dvd's will contain only one disk? Yes, that is correct. The coaster footage disc takes me an additional 2-3 weeks to put together, and most of that footage is duplicated on "RAW" anyway. Most people say they seem to prefer RAW to the Footage discs, so why do double the work when that time could be better spent creating something new and different? --Robb
Jew
^I think that is a great decision. Now people have their choice as to what style of video they want to enjoy. No need to buy the coaster expedition DVD just for the footage anymore, as I know has been the case for some people.
