The Angry Darren Mullins Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I now live a 20 minute walk from Gyeongju World. As a result, I go several times a week to this park to ride Phaethon. I have noticed something about this ride and I wonder if it is common for other B&M coasters. Some days, this coaster has the B&M trademark smoothness and other days it is running very rough. I have ridden nearly 30 B&M coasters, but this is the first one that I ride almost every single day. Have any of you had this experience? Are other B&M coasters rough on some days and smooth on the others?
kidcoaster 2 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Could vary depending on several factors like.... Temperature/Weather How old the wheels are I have noticed some B&Ms are rougher during the middle of the days and tend to smooth out later in the day as the ride gets worn in and the temperature drops.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Iron Wolf pops in my head after reading your question. Some days, I only get hit none to 2 times, and some days, the restraints have their party. It is probably just the weather.
Skycoastin Steve Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Depends a lot on where you sit and what kind of shape the wheels are in.
tanthonyam Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Wow! That's a nice B&M, I looked it up on RCDB. Interesting layout.
Swiminn6 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I am not sure if this is true and probably isn't but I notice sometimes if there are less people it's a tad bit rougher but I'd go with what everyone else is saying, "Weather"
robbalvey Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 ^ Wes, that is a very rude thing to say to someone who GETS TO RIDE A B&M EVERY SINGLE DAY AND DOESN'T WORK AT A PARK! I think you're jealous. --Robb
The Disneylander Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 It probably depends on a lot of factors, weather being the primary cause. South Korea has a LOT of variable weather, so I think wear and tear on the coasters will be higher. Also, it probably changes depending on which seat you take.

I think you're jealous. --Robb It's just bubbling up inside me. The jealousy. Getting to ride a B&M every single day...only in my wildest of fantasies. One day I hope I can ride the same roller coaster everyday, and that I can come on a roller coaster forum and let the world know how amazing I am for getting to do such a thing.
SharkTums Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 ^Don't mind Robb, he's just spoiled because he lives next to SFMM! He can go ride THREE B&M'S EVERYDAY!!!!! Oh, but, we haven't been to the park since August...
jamesdillaman Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 ...just waiting for "I get to ride Your MOM every day, and I don't even work at the strip club" -James Dillaman
Wes Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 What would riding a B&M everyday be like.......ON THE MOON??!?!?!?!
kumba830 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 ^ Better than any girl a coaster enthusiast can get? Besides Tyler, he's a babe...
Calicoasters Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Silver Bullet seems to be a much smoother ride when there is more weight (People) on the train. Test rides in the last row can be rather unpleasant! I get to ride Pony Express everyday! I know, I'm living the life!
robbalvey Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I get to ride Pony Express everyday! Yeah, but you WORK AT A PARK! So that means you're just simply not as cool. --Robb
ebl Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 "He can go ride THREE B&M'S EVERYDAY!!!!!" (Elissa) Doesn't SFMM have four B&Ms? And, believe it or not, on my last visit to SFMM a couple of weeks ago, I didn't ride a single one of them. Eric
hobbit Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 The nearest B&M here is hours driving... But i like that because a B&M coaster is special, if you ride everyday a B&M coaster. it is not special anymore.
ParkTrips Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Besides Tyler, he's a babe... Besides Tyler, he's a babe... Besides Tyler, he's a babe... Besides Tyler, he's a babe... sorry.. still can't believe I read that, had to let it sink in (especially since its coming from a 15 year old boy! )
sixflagsguy5 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 What would riding a B&M everyday be like.......ON THE MOON??!?!?!?!... if the holding brake on V2 got replaced and Chang came to great america!!??
Squid Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I work at a park with Four! B&Ms and I don't get to ride any of them any day! So he's definitely cool in my book! Squid
netdvn Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 ^ Yeah, but you work at the park, so you don't count whether or not you can ride the coasters every day. However I live next to three B&M coasters so I can ride them every day.
