-Edge of Beast- Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Swarm is definitely looking nice so far! They've been building it very fast. But we all no B&M and their magical ways.
TPDave Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 ^^ Don't expect the rain to put off thorpe park guests!
LoopLover Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Visited Thorpe Park yesterday and the lift hill is complete!
traincrossin Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Looks like they dropped some track in the water, oops. Link
matteocrepaldi Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 No, they just started to build the underwater part!
ernierocker Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 They've fooled us all along! It IS an aquatrax!!!
StealthFan Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Surprise splashdown! Actually that just gave me an interesting thought, would a slashdown section on a wing rider actually work?
bundy2989 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The track piece is now out of the lake and on the back of a truck and taken off site for what i would assume will be to inspect it for any damages. Inline twist section ready to go in.
gisco Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 The track piece is now out of the lake and on the back of a truck and taken off site for what i would assume will be to inspect it for any damages. Â It will have to be cleaned and checked for cracks and to see if it is bent in amyway. Could be a costly drop if it is not repairable and needs to be remade.
TPDave Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 More than the financial cost, the time factor could be huge if significant rework/re-fabrication gets involved. Â That said I'd love to see a video of that... Â Dave
themightyjack Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Some videos released by the park: Â Â And a picture update from today: Â
ernierocker Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Â Hey look! It's that element that Thorpe Park stole from SFGAm's Wing Rider!!!
snoflake15 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 ^^ is that camera wet from the piece of track splashing into the water?
StealthFan Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 More than the financial cost, the time factor could be huge if significant rework/re-fabrication gets involved. Â The financial cost shouldn't worry the park at all as the contractor will have to foot the bill for the damaged caused. If there is any that is.
bundy2989 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Some nice pics from Joey at coaster force. The trim has appeared at the bottom of the first drop. Â Thorpe have been at it again with there PR stunts. It turns out that the track piece seen in the water was placed there carefully. This video appears to show it being lifted out the water but the video has been reveresed.
deathbydinn Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 ^ Can't wait to see where they go with this..
coasterfreak101 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 ^^That first picture really shows how crazy-massive this thing is! I love it!
matteocrepaldi Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Great updates!!! Can't wait to ride this thing!
Wes Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Is the whole water thing a joke? I'm so confused. BRITISH PEOPLE EXPLAIN.
alpengeist04 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Nothing like a good trim pic. Â Seriously, the element looks pretty cool.
TPDave Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Is the whole water thing a joke? I'm so confused. BRITISH PEOPLE EXPLAIN. Â I wish I could Wes, but this is from the same chain of parks that brought you the Th13teen hype...
coasterfreak101 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Does the British public eat this sort of marketing up? I mean, the enthusiast community all thinks it's stupid, sure, but does the GP?
Meteornotes Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I get marketing hype, but this whole "piece of track in the water" things makes zero sense to me. Â dt
StealthFan Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Maybe they thought it was easier to clean dirt of the track but putting it in a giant muddy puddle. Thats logical right?
