Rollercoaster Rider
OK, Cause When I went, They didn't sell cups of water. And this was on the 22nd. Something about the FDA
DarienLaker
I went to Darien Lake today and I was kind of disappointed about somethings most noticeably the long wait and lines for Mind Eraser, Predator, Motocoaster, Ride of Steel, and Viper (which they had closed for short time due to rain) since all of those said coaster ran only one train. Boomerang was closed and so was the kiddie coaster (but who cares about that, it's just for kids under 54"!). I saw some sign in front of Barracuda Bay and the bridge by Hook's Lagoon saying that 'Cuda Fall is closed for refurbishment. But I got some pictures Mom says it's time to eat some junk food on the boardwalk! They still have Galaxy Theater on the sign post, but they're not using, again! Good ol' Viper, too bad you're getting rough! Corn Popper in its buttery yellowness! Viper's new green decal Last evidence of Raging Seas A bird hagning out on Mind Eraser RIP Galaxy Theater Motocoaster! Motocoaster, again! Blast Off! the new "hotness", too bad I didn't ride it The Predator lurking out of it station The side door in the Galaxy Theater shack is open, I wonder what's going on in there? Koasterking48
^ Until now, I've never seen Predator's "new" trains that ran on the Voyage. Very interesting that they added a headrest.

I don't know what it was before, But the ride is very rideable and tolerable.
DarienLaker
^ Until now, I've never seen Predator's "new" trains that ran on the Voyage. Very interesting that they added a headrest. I think the headrest were put on when the trains ran on the Voyage at Holiday World.
Koasterking48
^ No, the Voyage never had (and still doesn't have) headrests, nor do the Legend or the Raven. They must've been added when Darien Lake bought them from HW.
DarienLaker
^Darien Lake must have added the headrest to Predator's "new" trains to make it more enjoyable.
SbSteveZ
I find it funny that Mr. DarienLaker, knowing sooooo much about Darien Lake and all, has a Profile Picture of Busch Gardens. I mean c'mon man, Keep it Real!
DarienLaker
^O.K. I've changed my profile picture to reflect my "fandemonium" for Darien Lake!
ViperLover
When I went to the park today, Viper's exit was rerouted to the entrance of Galaxy Theater. I think that they were fixing the asphalt. Also, does anyone remember that a couple of years ago, RoS's red train was being refurbished for the whole season? I think that they may be doing the same to the blue train. EDIT: The year was 2010
SbSteveZ
Hey Guys! I haven't been to Darien Lake yet this summer, but I was in the Walden Galleria (Depew, NY) and i saw an advertisement for Darien Lake with a picture of what seemed to be the Grand Wheel with some nice new Lights on it. Can anyone confirm that this is true/false? Thanks! (Sorry I had nothing to take a picture of it with...)
ViperLover
^That is not true. The Giant Wheel hasn't had lights since Six Flags owned the place. Don't ever believe what you see on Darien Lake ads because half of the pics they use are from other parks. Last year, they were selling post cards with pics of Hook's Lagoon at a different park. (I think it was Six Flag's New England's)

Last year, they were selling post cards with pics of Hook's Lagoon at a different park. (I think it was Six Flag's New England's) WHAT!?, how "sneaky" of Darien Lake to do such a thing to use picture of similar attractions at other parks instead of their own! maybe they don't have enough recent photos of their attraction and resorted to use old photos, I mean why can't they just take new photos of their attractions instead of using another park's photo?
ViperLover
^Because either everything at the park is old and broke or only running one train.
DarienLaker
Well, then did you think that Darien Lake took this photo of 'Cuda Falls in 2010 or did they just Photoshopped an old photo of it to add the new slide colors?
ViperLover
I don't see a reason to Photoshop it. It would be a thousand times easier to take a picture of the slides.
DarienLaker
On the site the photo they used for Viper was taken back when the "yellow" train was used and the track was green. But Mind Eraser and Blast Off aren't listed on the site!
RideofSteel
^I just checked out the site... And it's super weird the new attraction and one of their biggest coasters aren't listed under thrill rides. At least Blast Off is listed on the separate "New for 2013" page. The POV's they have posted are quite bad too...
ViperLover
Boomerang isn't listed either. It seems like the park is giving up on their guests. They don't answer any e-mails, don't update the website, and don't properly run the rides. I'm glad to see new improvements to the park, but at the same time, I would like to see friendly employees and the existing rides to get some TLC. DougMJr
Just got sent this customer survey about a concept for next year's thrill ride. Neither the email or the survey asked for confidentiality so here is a screenshot. My response to the survey was pretty much begging them to build this. Here are the bullet points if they are hard to read. -3,190 FEET OF CUTTING EDGE ENGINEERING -WORLDS FIRST WOODEN COASTER WITH A WING OVER DROP -ZERO G CAMELBACK, HOP REVERSAL, SUSPENDED CORKSCREW. Fingers crossed, I really want them to go with this concept.
ViperLover
OMG! OMG! OMG! I would have never have guessed that they would build a new coaster. I hope that they build it. I wonder where they would put it. Edit: Was that the only new possible attraction mentioned? Edited July 19, 2013 by ViperLover
Geauga Dog
Before someone else says it - worlds' first wooden wing coaster Seriously we finally have something to start a good discussion. It sounds like Herschend was impressed with Outlaw Run that they may have contracted RMC for this though it looks like GG Timberliners on the track. It would be a bold ride to put in the park though I hope Lake Monster is just a name for the project and not the actual name they may be considering. I'm hoping this gets built as well. Would finally shut up the folks who continue to want Batman rebuilt. As for location I'm thinking the Galaxy Theater gets leveled to make way for the ride platform and the ride heads out into the campground.

ViperLover
Who else thinks that a queue like Dragon Mountain's at Marineland would be perfect for this ride?
DougMJr
Edit: Was that the only new possible attraction mentioned? Yes, the survey took about 5 minutes to complete and this was the only concept in the survey. The questions were basically, "would this compel you to return to Darien Lake," and, "would you tell your friends about this." Ect. Ect. Edit: Putting this here so people do not have to back up a page. Edited July 19, 2013 by DougMJr
