QueerRudie Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Hi, I am having trouble when downloading custom parks for rct2, the game doesn't recognize the file as a park when its placed in the scenario, or saved park folder. Please help. Thank You! Generally, if you're downloading a custom park, you must have the scenery sets these people are using in their park. If they are GOOD AND DECENT people, they will have selected the box marked "IMPORT SCENERY" from the options menu before uploading the park to TPR's Game Exchange... IF they DID NOT select that, then 1,000 hungry chiuauauas will come nipping at their ankles till they're dead as punishment. Otherwise, perhaps D.J. (Derek) could answer the question more fully-
zspaw Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Thank You for responding! But i don't think its because of the scenery, because Ive tried to download this weeks TPR challenge, and it only includes the original scenery. Another thing is that the parks download as a file, not as a rct park
QueerRudie Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 If you're downloading this week's challenge, you need to put the park in your 'Scenarios' file of RCT II. It should work from there.

QueerRudie Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Neither can i- Can you send me a screenshot of what you're encountering with your upload? Also, what OS are you using? R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
zspaw Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Im Running Xp, and the file is the second on the top after Rct Disney
QueerRudie Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 OK: Do this: When you place the park in the Scenarios file, be sure to put .SC6 on the end of it. It appears you downloaded it, and deleted off the .SC6 extention! R.D.

RCTFreak123 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) How do I take pictures and post them into my own forum? i have reinvented crazy castle and i would like peoples opinions. All help is appreciated! Edited June 10, 2011 by QueerRudie
QueerRudie Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 That's easy: 1.) When you're ready to take a picture, Click on the menu on the upper left hand corner (The one that looks like a floppy disk)- you'll see an option for "Take A Screenshot" It will save as SCR001.BMP- That's your first picture. From there, it's saved in the RollerCoasterTycoon2 directory. When you setup your thread, Describe your park (USE SPELL CHECK AND CORRECT GRAMMAR!) and down below the window you will find an option tab for "Post Photos or Files" Add your pictures from your RollerCoasterTycoon2 directory there- and give a brief and PROPERLY SPELLED description. When you're done with that, click on 'Submit' and show off your works! R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
RCTFreak123 Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 (edited) Thank you for the help, if you look on the preview thread you will see what i have done I would also like to know if anyone had the obj data file for the flying roller coaster. (The one that has the picture on a green coaster) Unfortunately it clashed and whenever I try to use it it shuts my computer down MOD EDIT: I'm happy to help you with any problems- BUT PLEASE USE CORRECT SPELLING AND PUNCTUATION/CAPITAL LETTERS!- R.D, Games Forum Moderating Team Edited June 10, 2011 by QueerRudie
RCTFreak123 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 When using rct2 8cars trainer, can you join a normal ride with a barrel roll leading into an inverted ride so it stays upside down?
djbrcace1234 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Like merge two track types? If you're looking to do that, here's a good tutorial that gives you the basic understanding on how to do that.
mightbeawannabe Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Where did the RCT/RCT2 download thread go? I'm getting 0 bytes errors from the game excahnge on those files...I searched through my history to that page, and when I got there it said I didn't have the correct permission to view that forum...help?
djbrcace1234 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 ^ What exactly are you trying to download specifically?
mightbeawannabe Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I'm just trying them all out-and I'm getting the same problem on all of them. I've done -Save Target As, Double-click, you name it. The download in a blink and the file size is always 0.
A.J. Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 (edited) Unfortunately, this goes back to the same situation that I dealt with earlier today concerning Lunaland - we technically didn't have permission to host that file. We recently received confirmation that we do not have permission to host the files in the download thread, so we have had to remove the thread as well as the files in the Game Exchange. I can, however, redirect you to RCTMart - which hosts most if not all of the files in the download thread. Keep in mind that this doesn't mean you can't post parks with the objects in them - that sort of thing is unavoidable wherever you go - when you open a park, it installs the objects. We just don't have permission to host the objects in the Game Exchange itself anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience, but permission is permission. Edited June 15, 2011 by A.J.
RCTFreak123 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 (edited) I wanted to restore my objdata files, so I tried re-installing but I don't know what to do. I've tried going to start and Infogrames Interactive but it isn't there. Does anyone know how to un-install it? MOD EDIT: Second warning. Please use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Thank you. R.D.- Games Forum Moderating Team Edited June 17, 2011 by QueerRudie
QueerRudie Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 To answer your question: Using the Start Menu, go to "Computer". THEN Go from there to "Program Files" Then from there to "Infogrames Interactive" THEN Look in the file marked "Objdata" for the missing files/utilites. You can also uninstall by inserting the disk into your drive, then using the same 'Computer' function above, click on the disk itself. Explore the disk fro the "Uninstall" Icon- and click it once.
A.J. Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 To add to that, if you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 will be located in the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Nozzy Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find anything when searching. I just found my RCT2 disc again and am excited to get in on the action here. I noticed a few features missing though- setting block brake speed and fast forwarding time. I found info leading me to believe there was an official patch that put these features in, but can't find it anywhere (I just see the secuROM patch in the download section). Is this patch available anywhere, or if it's in the download center can someone tell me the file name? Thanks!
QueerRudie Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 As far as I remember, those are features that never came with RCT II; however, there might be a trainer/hack system that does that. Those features are more associated with RCT III. R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
