SFGAm's Facebook page just reached 100,000 fans, and as promised, there will be some sort of announcement on Thursday at 3:30 PM.

You guys did it, you hit 100,000 fans! I know you guys have been waiting FOREVER to find out, so set a reminder for Thursday at 3:30 p.m. That way all the fans know exactly when the announcement is coming and everyone can find out at the same time, in case some of you super fans are sleeping/watching television/reading and have a life and aren’t obsessively hitting refresh every 30 seconds like I am.

Sorry if this was already posted but Six Flags put up some some new Little Dipper construction photos here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=169593&id=10583866355&ref=mf

As for the announcement I think it will be half real half fake. After all if it's all a joke why would they make us get a certain number of fans on the page. If it was all completely made up wouldn't they say it on April Fools day no matter how many fans they had.

Speaking of Gurnee, does Amtrak stop at all in Gurnee, or how close to it? A friend of mine was telling me it's like 60$ to take the train from Detroit to Chicago...

Closest stops are Glenview, IL or Sturtevant, WI. And neither of those are close.

There is another option. You could take the Amtrak from Detroit to Chicago. Walk across the street to the Olgilvie Transportation Center. Get on a Metra train to Waukegan, then take the bus from Waukegan to Gurnee. Too many transfers if you ask me. However, if you're a train enthusiast its right up your alley!

With opening day coming up soon, I figured that now would be a good time to post about a group meet taking place. Several of us (Jo (JoJo), Griffin (B&Man), Patrick (Traincrossing) myself and I assume Nathan and Jeremie too) are planing to spend the day there. So far it looks as follows:

Some will meet near the ticket windows at 9:30am.

Some will stay until the park closes.

More people are definitely encouraged to join us, so please don't be shy. If you're already planning to be at the park that day and want to meet for just a few rides, then please send me a PM so we can exchange cell-phone numbers - that will make it super easy to get in touch on the day. Likewise if you don't think you can make it there by 9:30am. These meets are usually extremely casual, with people coming and going all day.

I'll should be there. Might bring a few loonies with me, so I don't know if they're going to want to stay the whole day or just meet for a few rides. They're also still a bit confused on what exactly TPR actually is, so, it could get interesting

However, it will be nice to formally meet all of you, and not in a chat room!

I should be there opening day along with my Dad! I don't think he met anyone last year. These TPR meets are always so much fun and I had a blast last year. It's going to be great seeing both old and new friends.

^ Good to hear that another parent will be there, I can tell my mom gets insanely bored when shes the only one. I can't wait to meet everyone, I just hope my friend doesn't go crazy being surrounded by coaster geeks

I'll be there opening day, but I decided to skip out on this one to be alone with my sister. I'm sorry guys, I'll slap my hands for skipping out on the amazing meet-up, but my sister got dibs on me first

Jeremie that's perfectly fine. I understand. If you want to go on Sunday (I'm assuming we're going that Saturday, if not someone please let me know) I'll be more than happy to meet up that day as well. The same goes for everyone else!

I'll be there, although I probably won't be able to make it until around noon or the early afternoon at the latest. When I know more about what I have going on that day I'll try to figure out where I can meet up with all of you.
