Curt Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 So do you guys read it? I just finished the new book and it was amazing.
it Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 I just finished the part when harry tells ron to stop pretending to be asleep when his girl friend comes
CoasterJunkie Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 I finished it Friday morning... I cant say it was amazing...just due to the content...dont want to ruin it..it was a good book...things were done that had to be done. I just dont want to wait 2 more figgin years for the final book.
SharkTums Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I never really got into the Harry Potter books...as for robb, well, he can't read! Elissa "just kidding!" Alvey
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Yeah, I have to wonder how the hell she's going to wrap up all these plotholes without having the seventh book hitting 1000 pages. Then again, what's wrong with 1000 pages?
BelizeIt Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I have to say that The Half-Blood Prince has been my favorite book to date. There was never a dull moment, each chapter kept my interest going and I couldn't wait to read on. J.K. Rowling has done a wonderful job with her Harry Potter books, I eagerly await the final installment of this incredible journey of mister Harry Potter.
CreativeForce Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 It was a really good book but of course it suffers from the fact that it's the second to last and the ending feels incomplete (which it should). I can't say it's my favorite book of the series, but it does the job it was supposed to do and that is set up the final chapter. It's the "Empire Strikes Back" part of the series and that's just fine by me. I just wish the last book would come out sooner.
Dr Freeze Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Yeah, I have to wonder how the hell she's going to wrap up all these plotholes without having the seventh book hitting 1000 pages. Then again, what's wrong with 1000 pages? What plotholes? -Bret
CoasterCrazy Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I have never seen any of the movies and I have never read any of the books!
Hattuchili Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I have started the first Harry Potter book up to a few pages, then I gave it to my brother. This were the first and last pages of HP, for me. It is not my world. However, I have seen each movie. I think that is enough Harry Potter for me! --Sören "favorite author is Clive Cussler" Schomburg
Erik Johnson Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 According to Aint-it-cool-news.com, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is going to be PG-13.
Nemmy Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 The 7th movie might be rated R. Let's see. what person is a virgin at 17 these days, Harry has to murder Voldemort, there's going to be some swearing (obviously). Aaah, this brings back memories of the first book. I read three chapters, put it on a chair, and started from the beginning a few months later. Then I read it about 30 times again, to this date. For some reason, I got the 6th book twice. Yay, me!
maliboomer Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 Don't be silly. There is no way JK Rowlings publishers would let her have a sex scene, they don't even let her swear.
gregleg Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 I thought "Half Blood Prince" was the strongest of the books. Part of that is, of course, that she's writing at a more mature audience as she goes, so the books get more intricate. But even barring that, Order of the Phoenix was really meandering and could have used some good editing -- Half Blood Prince was a much tighter story. But I still prefer Tolkein
scarymy Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Harry poter the 4th was the best i like that tournament With 3 games the first is the best with the dragons
Teddymonster Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 (edited) The 7th movie might be rated R. Let's see. what person is a virgin at 17 these days, Harry has to murder Voldemort, there's going to be some swearing (obviously). You are lead to believe Harry is going to kill Voldemort...don't you know her writing style by now? Things are never really as they seem. I never assume anything when I read her books, because most of the time I am dead wrong. BTW...Book 6 was phenomenal. It was very sad, but very necessary to move the story along. DATman Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 JK Rowling is allowed to swear. It's in all the books (except,MAYBE,the first 1)
benzo41190 Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 I think the last book i ever read was "Holes". That was 3 years ago and i have never read a "whole" book since then.
Teddymonster Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Snape kills Dumbledore? Where did you hear a crazy thing like that?
Teddymonster Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 But I still prefer Tolkein Apples to Oranges, Greg.
maliboomer Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 JK Rowling is allowed to swear. It's in all the books (except,MAYBE,the first 1) I mean slightly harder words, not bloody and troll boogies.
DATman Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 They use damn, and other things. I know ginny swears in the 4th 1, and harry and ron swore in the 3rd,4th,5th,and 6th
