robbalvey Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 You could use the title of these boards: "TPR TV Theme Parks, Coasters, & Donkeys" (or "Fun") But probably not "Yo Gabba Gabba. I need to have "CoasterTube" in there somewhere. --Robb
cfc Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 OK, how about these? "Coaster Tube & More" "Coaster Tube, Parks & Stuff" "Ride the Coaster Tube" (OK, that sounds like porn--never mind.) Will think on it some more.
Electerik Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 "Ride the Coaster Tube" (OK, that sounds like porn--never mind.) And that's bad...why? I really like the idea there. (But, obviously, I'm not Robb.)
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV It's Coastertube without the lube!
King_K. Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hm..here's a few. TPR TV: CoasterTube, it's as simple as that! : CoasterTube is our middle name. : Get me my CoasterTube. : Got CoasterTube? : CoasterTube, to hell with the rest. : It's your CoasterTube!
robbalvey Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Guys, these are all really good, but one thing many of them are missing is that the subtitles needs to be a "descriptor" not just something catchy and funny. Remember that everyone here KNOWS what TPR and TPR TV is. But if you hear or see it somewhere else, it's just letters to them. That's why something like "TPR TV: CoasterTube for Theme Park Geeks" works well. TPR TV is the name. "Tube" in coaster tube I think describes it's a YouTube like feature. "Coaster" in coaster tube says roller coaster (or maybe drink coaster?) "Theme Park Geeks" gives people some idea what it's all about. And on top of all that the subtitle is kind of funny also. This is the kind of subtitle we need. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming! --Robb
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV Your path to Coastertube Geekdom! TPR TV Cause Coastertube was too Geeky!
King_K. Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV: CoasterTube is to Theme Park Geeks, what food is to ACE'rs.
OldJJman Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV Cause Coastertube was too Geeky! I like that one!!! JJ
dandaman Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV: CoasterTube for Enthusiasts and Average Joes Alike!
Electerik Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Guys, these are all really good, but one thing many of them are missing is that the subtitles needs to be a "descriptor" not just something catchy and funny. That's why something like "TPR TV: CoasterTube for Theme Park Geeks" works well. Well, that being the case, perhaps flipping the names would work better after all. "CoasterTube: Theme Park Review's Video Extravaganza!" After all, "TPR" is shorthand for us converts. It's probably not going to mean much to someone just surfing around for some coaster footage. (Whereas "Theme Park Review" actually does kind of describe itself.) /Forgive me for muddying the waters. Not trying to go backwards.
televisedconfession Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV: CoasterTube for Whenever You Need It! TPR TV: CoasterTube to Settle That Coaster Craving! TPR TV: CoasterTube Where You Want It, When You Want It! TPR TV: Your mom's a CoasterTube Ok, that last one's a joke.
darklingscribe Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 TPR TV: Spread the fun on the internet's only coastertube. TPR TV: Make, share and play videos on coastertube. TPR TV: Travel the world on our Coastertube. My creative energy has been spent. I don't know, Coastertube is a hard phrase to tailor a sentence to. It is easier to create a descriptive sentence if you just omit it: TPR TV: Theme park videos from around the world.
cfc Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 ^^^TPR TV has a bit more "snap" and does help "brand the site; however, "CoasterTube" is more descriptive. ^^I kind of like the "whenever you like it" idea. Maybe "TPR TV (or CoasterTube): Where you can ride all year." Then again, that might be too much like the slogan of the coaster club in Florida.
televisedconfession Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 ^ How Depehce Mode! I love it! haha
Guy T. Koepp Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 TPR TV Like u-tube with coasters... ...Coastertube!
robbalvey Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 So I've been going back and forth about this a lot lately and I think I've decided on the name: "Coastertube: Theme Park Review Television." I believe that "TPR TV" as an acronym will be totally lost on anyone outside of TPR. I think "Coastertube" is VERY self explanatory, or at least in one word more explanatory than "TPR TV" The more I think about it, I want to stay away from using "TPR" whenever possible and actually say "Theme Park Review" as that title in inself is also very self-explanitory. I'm getting very close to actually launching this so if there is any feedback on the name, even though I know it wasn't the 'popular vote' it would be appreciated! --Robb
Eric_Smith Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Love the name and the logo! Both are great!
Erik Johnson Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I totally would buy a CoasterTube T-Shirt. The name is very self- explanatory so it works.
OldJJman Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I think it's a good choice Robb! Works for me!
monkeyoverlord71 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Probably a better choice for the name and a nice logo. I will probably still refer to it as tprtv though
Nrthwnd Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I totally would buy a CoasterTube T-Shirt. Me too! Me too!
Crazy4Coasters! Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The only thing I would change is the word "Television" to just "TV" Just so it won't sound to wordy.
robbalvey Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 The only thing I would change is the word "Television" to just "TV"Just so it won't sound to wordy. I thought about that. And I think I'd like to stay consistent. So it's either all abbreviations or none at all. TPR TV or Theme Park Review Television Seeing how it seemed to fit very nicely in the logo I decided to go with Television. --Robb
