^Like the idea...

I officially don't give a sh!t about the playoffs for the rest of the year...no team I'm interested in following. I'm sure however, there are going to be a bunch of Bulls fans out here on the west coast popping out of the woodwork.

Worst thing that could ever happen to the NBA is for the Heat to win the title. That will just facilitate more stars grouping together. I'm praying for a full season lockout next year so Stern can get his league straightened out.

You're not alone in this prayer

^ I don't know about that, in your shoes anyway. Kobe's not an old man by any stretch of the imagination, but those nagging injuries are starting to add up. You should be praying to take another chance with "quality Kobe" while you can.

I vote for no lockout. Think of all the upset arena employees around the country who will lose the majority of their work!

If there is any team that is in the league right now I'd want to win this

title, (other than L.A. of course) is Dallas. Mark Cuban can be an ass at times,

but he is as passionate a fan of the game as a dedicated owner. It's just really

irratating to me that despite the fact that this series is tied at a game a piece,

everyone's talking like the series was over before it started, and that the Mavs

had no chance. Well my hopes that Miami loses this series goes far beyond me not

wanting LeBron to win a title. It's more along the lines of wanting to see the

better team win. Dirk Nowitzki is probably the most deserving candidate for winning

it all in this series. He played his whole career in Dallas, even when they sucked.

And through various roster changes, he has always come through to be the Mavs' elite

player.

However, I can understand why it's very important for Miami to win this year. I think

they really have to. The arguement that LeBron's legacy shouldn't be tarnished because

he left his team is flawed. Most sports analysts would argue that LeBron is right to

leave and if he goes on to win a championship (or ships) is because of the collective

of a great ensemble of players around him. But here's the flaw. Couldn't the same be

said of any player? If Pau Gasol showed up in L.A. two years earlier, would Kobe have

7 rings? If Allen Iverson had a better cast, could he have beaten the Lakers in 2001?

Normally I'm not a big fan of "what if" scenarios, but the reason why it's such a factor

in this series, is because where do you draw the line between "LeBron is a great player

that won a title" and "this was a great team that won a title"? Why does this mean Miami

have to win this title? Two reasons. We've seen LeBron didn't get one by himself. If this

team around him can't get it this year, a "dream team" built to win this championship,

the talks of him being so great might take a turn for the worse. Second, there are three

players on this team that by themselves can be "franchise" players (personally, I don't

this Chris Bosh is that great ) There was a lot of "ego" that had to take a backseat to

make this team work. If all those sacrifices were for anything short of a banner, things

may not sit well and team chemistry may adversly be affected.

All in all, I would really love Dallas to win this series. I like Dwayne Wade. He single

handedly won that championship series in 2006. In fact, it was the lack of superstar help

on that roster that can help you make the arguement that Dwayne Wade is far more a superior

player...dare I say winner than LeBron is. However, this Dallas team has worked a lot harder

over a longer period of time to be where they are. And I think fundamentally, they deserve

to win more (even though I would've loved to see the Lakers win no. 17).

I'm not going to lie, I rather enjoyed watching the Heat choke after Wade taunted the Mavs bench when he hit that 3-pointer towards the end of the game. LeBron trying to be the hero wasting away the shot clock jacking up bad 3-point shot was pretty funny to watch too.

The Mavs win was excellent. Unfortunately I'm not optimistic about their chances any more than I was before the comeback. I think they'll take one more game this series. I would be a pig in shite if they improbably pulled it off though.

^I don't think it is THAT improbable that the Mavs win the series. Their major problem is they always have major lapses in effort/concentration throughout the game. They have proven throughout the playoffs that they can beat anyone when they are on their game, so it is not out of the question that they win all three games in Dallas.

My prediction is that it goes back to Miami with Dallas up 3-2.

If Dirk can get either Jason Terry or Shawn Marion to have a stellar offensive game to compliment Dirk's offense. Dallas could very well pull off a series win. I just really hate how Miami has not won either of their games in dominating fashion, yet are being heralded as the chosen team-as if this championship is their God given right. It's 2-2. Each victory with the exception of game 1 has been decided by three points or fewer. Dallas is just as capable to win as Miami. And if Miami goes on to win, I wouldn't want to hear any discredit to the Mavs. They are making Miami work for the title, just as Dallas is not experience a cake walk themselves. I guess the biggest frustration out of all of this is no one will acknowledge that this is an evenly matched battle. If Dallas goes on to win, everyone will say it was a fluke and that Miami should've won. This is the way I personally feel about any playoff series....Best team always wins. ALWAYS. You don't by chance win four out of seven games. And if Miami loses, it won't be because LeBron didn't show up, it won't be because of the lack of chemistry...it's just that of two evenly matched teams, one of them rose a little higher to the occasion.

^ you totally hit the nail on the head. I couldn't agree more!!! It seems to be like this with lots of matchups in every sport. In baseball, its the Yanks..seems like any team they play, if the other teams wins, its always that the Yanks weren't on top of thier game. How about that the other team just brought it and out played them.

I had a prediction that if Dallas won this game, and they neede to, they'd go on to take the series in 7 games. They've proven in this series alone that not only can they win one the road, but can come back trailing late. Dwayne Wade is delivering about as much as he can, I've never thought Chris Bosh was that great, and LeBron is making anybody who supprts him look like a total douche. I was listening to Mason & Ireland on ESPN radio today and they brought something up that I had totally forgotten about. Miami through a freakin' championship parade-style media event just from putting the team together...at that point, training camp didn't even start yet! For that reason far beyond any other reason, I want to see them lose....and I want to see it happen in game 6.

Well done.

Dallas, please finish these ESPN bottombitches ASAP. No Game 7, that would be too stressful on my heart. Thanks.

If Miami Heat stars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James awoke with a sick feeling this morning after falling behind 3-2 in the NBA Finals, they may wish they hadn't been caught on camera apparently mocking Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki's illness.

In video taken after the Heat's morning shootaround before Game 5 Thursday in Dallas, Wade and James are shown laughing, pretending to cough and wiping their faces on their shirts, mimicking Nowitzki's appearance during Game 4 when he struggled to play while battling a fever and flu-like symptoms.

Nowitzki still showed signs of being under the weather in Game 5 but nonetheless scored 29 points with six rebounds in the Mavs' 112-103 victory. Wade scored 23 points and James had a triple-double for the Heat.

Rich, especially considering Wade acts like he's hurt all of the time. These clowns are unbelievable.

And oh yeah, Sniffles dropped 29 on you. Not one, not two, not three, not four, Twenty Nine.

I live here in the Dallas area and I have followed the Mavs since the team was founded in 1980. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Mavericks on their first ever NBA Championship!!

Congtatulations to Dirk on his MVP!!!

Thoughout these playoffs the Mavericks have overcome adverstiy with incredible heart. Caron Butler has been out since January, Brendon Haywood went out in the second game of the serires with a hip injury. But these guys refused to give up and now they've brought home the Larry O'Brien trophy!

You guys deserve this!!!!

Rooted so hard for the Mavericks to win this thing even though they crushed the Lakers in the Western Semis. Doing infront of the so called Miami fans was even better. They couldn't even fill an arena with Heat fans. It looked like a third of the people there were Mavs fans.

I think we can all agree that this picture is the perfect way to end a NBA season. You stay classy LeBron while we normal folk go back to our pitiful lives.
