Silly question but i was curious about how the prices are at McDonalds in Europe, Japan and other countries you visited. Are they more expensive/cheaper than the US? Thanks!

Good question! Actually except for France they seemed pretty much on par with SoCal even with the exchange rate. In France a Value Meal was like 7 euro though which was quite expensive.

Also in Europe, what would be a large to us was a medium to them, so if you wanted more food you'd have to pay more. This was the same case in Japan. Smaller Portion sizes, and a little bit more money but not much.

When we were in the UK last year, the prices looked about the same but with the exchange rate of the dollar to the pound, the actual prices were almost double! Outside of London it wasn't quite so bad, but the UK is defintly not cheap.

The 1 Euro chicken burgers in Germany ruled! Chicken Patty+Jack in the Box taco sauce=heaven!

^ Yes. In fact they had "dollar stores" that were litterally called the "100 Yen" stores:

I loved those stores so much, you could pretty much do your whole shopping there!

Several of the McDonalds in my area used to have 29 cent hamburger wednesdays and 39 cent cheeseburger sundays. They don't anymore unfortunately Probably cause alot of people were ordering them 20 at a time

Right now, in our area at least, they're doing $1 Chicken McNugget Tuesdays. Earlier this year, they did $1 Filet-O-Fish Fridays, but that didn't last very long.

We have never had the One dollar menu here in Oz, but the meals start at just over $5 for a small meal, and up to $6 for a large meal. The burgers are around the $3 - $4 each.

Hey, did you ever find out what a Quarter Pounder was called in France? I hope you took a photo!
